Wait a minute, Abramson reports Sturgis nails a 48 yarder while Kelly reports he missed a 47 yarder, what gives?

Kelly also reported the 48 yd success, so I guess he had two attempts from that range.

"Michael Egnew just caught a 20-yard pass despite being draped by two defensive backs. Best play of the practice.

good for him, no pads but he apparently made a couple of good plays today"

I'm still glad I no longer follow Omar on twitter....the guy is a sports-reporter-wannabe, and nothing more... We have 100 members here that could do better than he does in 'reporting'... If I want opinion, there are a couple a hundred better sources than OmarK...

I refuse to follow Kelly and Armando blocked me and Violin went north so I'm limited on who I can follow.

I like Hartline in fantasy as a third WR option. He and RT have great timing on that 10 - 20 yard out. I see that as one of our bread and butter plays.

I envision Keller will be RT's safety blanket. I expect him to work the middle of the field all season, much like Fasano did but with greater variety in terms of depth (short and long passes).

I'm excited about Matthews (WR). I like what Binns brings inside, but I think Matthews can be effective both inside and out.

I'm not as down on DT as most. I like him a lot as a third down back. He doesn't have the upside of a Miller (nobody would be predicting 1500 yd seasons if he was our projected starter). But he's solid in pass pro and very good as a receiver out of the backfield. I also think that he'll benefit from our OL getting more time together as a zone blocking unit. I think DT is best in a zone blocking scheme. I don't think DT will ever be great back or someone you'd want as a starter, but I would be comfortable with him in rotation with a better back and as a guy who starts for a game or two if your starter is nicked up. I do question his durability at this point though. I see Gilleslee (sp?) and Gray potentially filling similar roles. My hope is that one of those three locks that supporting role down and that another provides depth. If DT is the one that locks it down we could stash the last guy on the PS.

    Get off my lawn.
Thank you football gods... I have something to read now other than Hernandez. These quotes are definitively getting me pumped up for the season. I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic, but with the Pats collapse and Geno reporting to be a change of pace QB, my hopes are skyrocketing haha

That's how I see Omar. I don't trust his eye in terms of assessment of talent. I think that he sees what he wants to see or what fits his agenda. If he sees a positive or a negative I have to filter it against what he's said in the past. I would probably only take note if he sees a great play out of a guy he never backed or a bad play out of a guy he's been touting. It's really just too much work.

great camp coverage on nfl network,,, if your a cowboys fan. They have multiple interviews, segments with romo, speculation for the season.

meanwhile they put together a 37 second segment for miami, complete with wallace and tannehill interviews,,, actually it coulda been a 43 second segment, good grief

If there's one thing I've learned over the years it's not to trust training camp eyes that aren't my own. There's too much lost in translation that isn't really anyone's fault.

I look forward to the preseason games. And this year there's 5 of them! So that's a good thing.

Preseason is like summer league basketball. You get really excited to see it because you get to try out all your new toys (because they get most of the work). Then some time into it, you get bored and want the real season to begin.

Still, I've always got a load of young guys on all teams I like to watch to see how well they're translating.

I haven't trusted him ever since he thought someone playing a 3 technique meant that that person was responsible for controlling 3 gaps.

Marshall is the starter but he's probably the best slot guy so we'll see him there in nickel sets. I love that guy. He plays inside, outside, safety, off, press, man, zone, he can tackle, he can blitz, now if he can stay healthy...

News about Matthews looking good is welcomed, but not really surprising. I think once the season gets in full-swing, we are going to have a situation where Miami doesn't necessarily have a true #1 WR, but an offense where there are 3-4 WRs all providing significant contributions.

Prolly cause the pretty much know what they have with Thiggy...the only question with him has always been his penchant for putting the ball on the ground once in a while...they have to look at these other options...besides, what would be better for the team is an additional alternative to Thiggy being one of the #3/4/5 WRs or backup RBs...

Yah...Philbins footprint on the team... Really look at GB...Jennings, Driver, Nelson...none of them true #1 guys, but all good WRs that can each play the X, Y, or slot spots in their offense...

I can't listen to romo do a presser, he's such a poser, so tries to act like a leader, and sooo bad at it..I hope wake drops him like a bad habit.

    Sorry for rant..

Yeah, why I turned it off...they made a big to-do about having "Dolphins Camp news" and spent less than a minute showing and/or talking about us ?? I'm afraid until we start to win more often this will continue to happen. What I don't understand is how Dallas gets as much press as it does ?? When was the last time they were significant ??

He's a pretty athletic guy, unfortunately the DE depth will probably keep him from making the team, along with Emeka Onyenekwu. I think Derrick Shelby is in their way too.

I really like the fact that we have some good Corners who will compete hard & make plays. This will make training camp tough on Tannehill and the WR's. That's a good thing. They won't like that very much but it will prep them well for the real thing.

Just watched NFL networks summary, they talked about I forget who reported it, but that Ryan and the receivers did not look sharp yesterday..their theme of the piece was can they make they playoffs and the overthrow heard round the world..

Called Martin a first round pick, didn't mention Cam wake..just brutal info.
