I just see him as that dangerous combination of being an idiot who thinks he's smart. Then you add in the arrogance and that just makes him annoying. He's basically no better than the typical guy at a sports bar who thinks he knows everything about football b/c he played in HS or college. But in his case, he thinks he knows more b/c he has access to players/coaches. You still have to understand the info and he doesn't. He's fine when he just reports what he's told without adding his opinion. That's what I want to know. But when he editorializes, he's almost always wrong. But he doesn't see that. He just rationalizes it in his head somehow so he thinks he's almost always right. And then on top of it talks down to those he sees as beneath him. It's gotten to the point where I automatically mute any of those videos that play automatically on the newspaper's website and I really only read his stuff if it's posted here.

the thing i´m wondering is, they placed him on the non football injury list, that shoulder injury he suffered was during a game or no ? so is there maybe something else no one knows about ?

I too found the non football part a little odd.

Also, how many practices in training camp are padded?

The other reason I welcome it is that I see Matthews as a guy who plays better when there's contact. IMO his strength is elite. His hands, speed, quickness, size, route running, etc. are all okay to good, but not elite. You usually need one skill that's elite (and have the work ethic and be at least good enough in the other areas) to have a chance be a #1 quality WR. Him being good in the non-contact (or at least limited contact) practices indicates that he's probably at least good enough in the other areas. I see him as a guy who is likely to play at least just as well once the pads come on.

They are talking about tannehill hi jersey sales on the network with a marketing firm, they attribute it to the hunger of replacing Dan, and a big national fanbase.

Brian Hartline as anything but #3 would in fact be dangerous. Can he be a sleeper? Sure, if RT improves so much that Hartline improves his numbers over last year when there were no weapons to contend with.

His lack of TD's really hurts him. He only had 3 double digit games last year. 3. Without the scoring threat you're looking at a lot of 2-6 point games. A lot.

Jeff Darlington bringing sense and poise to NFLN reporting, which is expected.

On the media's obsession with the "Free Hernandez" hat: "Guess we're all just going to have to move on."

I think it's a non-football injury whenever it did not occur as a member of the NFL. It basically relates to whether or not the team would be on the hook for liability purposes.

Their different people, the severity of the injury comes into play, Dion played with it for half of his senior year.

At least he is in the hands of the Dolphins' medical staff, we wouldn't want an Andrew Bynum situation. Darlington said they're bringing him along slowly and with some degree of calculation, so I guess we'll have to be patient. If we're still talking about this by the middle of the next week, we have a problem.

that makes sense because Jonas Gray was also placed on the NFI list albeit towards the end of training camp last year. after failing his physical earlier in camp they put him on the active/non football injury list. I guess Dion Jordan didn't "fail" his physical or they probably don't want to put that info out there because it sounds bad :wink2:

Thomas continues to work on his body in the offseason, he does have devastating cutting ability, maybe he's just a late bloomer.

This Olivier Vernon news is really encouraging, not only for this year but next. If OV is able to become an efficient DE it makes Odrick's shift to DT that much easier.

I think that's why he fits in a zone scheme. You tend to want one cut runners in that system. DT is good at that one cut style. He's not as explosive in that move as a guy like Miller, but I could easily see him being a consistent positive gainer as a runner, assuming he stays healthy. I see that as his big "if". A smaller "if" is his vision. I think it's okay, but not great. I would categorize it as good enough to be the guy who spells your starter or fills in on a short-term basis.

Agreed. OV is pretty athletic so you don't want to put a ceiling on how good he can be. I don't think he's shown much pass rushing prowess thus far, but when you're a great athlete sometimes it's just a matter of figuring it out (and obviously putting in the work).

no wonder, i know the body doesn´t make the player see vernon gholston, but his body for a 21 year old..wow, he spent some serious time on that the last few months

Without pads and hitting, it doesn't make sense to waste practice time on FBs when you cannot evaluate their primary skill. Moreover, I believe I read they were practicing 3rd and long situations today.

Wtf NFLN???? Just spent 20 min on the Cowboys, and then 10 minutes on the freaking Buccaneers. Yet the Dolphins got maybe a whole minute after that! They just spent even more time wishing a Happy Birthday to Stephen Jackson.

And this dork can't seem to let this Tannehill jersey sale thing go.

Apparently, he put in a lot of work this offseason. It's strange, now that TC is here, I just want the padded practices to start. Expectations can't be sated!

I agree with the degree of concern for his health, I mentioned his devastating cutting ability, I truly mean it , sometimes I feel like he's going to blow his knee up on one of those, he plants so hard sometimes... he literally blew Revis's knee up on one of his cuts.

Still not sure why anyone would be surprised, based on what he did in college, that Michael Egnew can go out there and catch some impressive passes.

Genetically advanced for a 21 year old, and what's cool, is he's not just resting on his great genetics...We could veryl well have a cam wake influence going on here, it was reported last week he spent a month with Wake this offseason.

Because if you aren't an immediate success as a rookie you're a bust.

It'll be interesting to see if he has rounded out the rest of his game, and to what degree.

These are some of the reasons why Wake moves ahead of the charts, his leadership in terms of how advanced he takes care of the body sets the bar for our younger guys who come in, I mean what kind of *** do you have to be to come to this team, see how this dudes takes care of his body and look away...

Needs to get a raise...do the right thing, he's underpaid.
