Training Camp Notes July 22nd - Brandon Fields warming up with some 50 yard punts, and he makes it look very easy Tannehill pass to Keller is dropped Tannehill to Wallace for 25 yards and Wallace speeds off 10 yard pass to Clay Playaction and a 25 yard pass to Matthews Pass to Jonas Gray for about 12 yards Ryan Tannehill overthrows Hartline on an inside cut, had space to catch Devlin to Gibson for 10 yards Tannehill talks to Hartline after overthrow Devlin 10 yard pass to Binns who fumbles Devlin passes to Keller for about 12 yards. Right to his chest 5 yard pass to Egnew At the far side Moore underthrows Tyms who took to long to cut back Matt Moore seems to have taken the 3rd string snaps in the beginning of practice Still no Dion Jordan out there Shelby falls in a light pad hitting drill, not sure if he tripped or got hit In the cornerback drills Marshall dropped one right in his hands and Posey made a terrific catch Hand off to Miller who does a nice cut inside but still swarmed by defense Handoff to Miller but the entire defense meets him at the sideline Thomas showing some quick feet from the backfield Odrick catches Thomas at line of scrimmage Devlin with a perfect pass to Egnew for 20 yards Devlin gets pressured and runs for 10 yards untouched Jonas Gray getting his snaps as our 3rd RB Tannehill throws to Wallace near sideline for 5 yards Misi would have destroyed Tannehill on the blind side if hitting was allowed Tannehill to Binns on a blitz for 10 yards Tannehill sacked by Mccray Tannehill to Hartline on a nice pass outside for 15 Devlin to Matthews for 12 yards Devlin to Hartline outside for 8 Offense is winning the day with most plays ending completed for 8-15 yards McNutt goes for a one hand catch outside but drops it Dion Jordan sighting! He is wearing a jersey and just watching the practice Miller shows off his speed with a run outside for 10 yards untouched Tannehill to Keller for 15 yards Perfectly thrown deep pass to Keller, over Jones and Grimes Outside pitch for Gray with a nice run Gray with a good run inside Vaughn Martin has taken a lot of snaps as DE Miller showing his evasiveness with an inside run untouched for 10 yards In the 7 on 7, Tannehill had a nice 20 yard pass to Egnew Sturgis hits a 45 yarder Starks starting at DT today Quick pass to Gibson who is hit and drops it Pass outside to Wallace for 9 right on the sideline Read option play where Tannehill keeps it for 2 Mcnutt jumps for the high ball and drops it Tannehill with a 15 yard pass to Gibson Devlin with a 7 yard pass to Lane who runs for 4 more Gray is doing a great job running out there Devlin overthrows Binns who seemed to be delayed in his route Onyenekwu got to Devlin after he took too long to throw Gillislee with a good untouched run Sturgis hits a 46 yarder wide left, it had the distance I may have missed him, but I did not see Thighpen at practice Matt Moore fumbles the ball in the pocket Matt Moore with a pass in traffic and Egnew ends up with it Sims drops a catch after diving for it Sims catches a 5 yard pass and runs for 4 more Presley jumps up in front of Moore and knocks down the pass Sturgis makes a 50 yarder with enough distance for 10 more yards Overall the offense shook off a ton of the rust that was noticeable yesterday. They caught a lot of balls, not too many drops, and outplayed the defense all day. The players who I think won the day are Jonas Gray and Michael Egnew who came up big in the catches. On the D-line Martin took a ton of snap opposite of Wake and Starks seems to have taken Soliai's place with Randall getting a good amount of reps too. It was a fun day, got Hartline and Tannehill's autographs on my hat and now I am heading home. Sidenote: There is so much that goes on during the practice that it is hard to focus on it all. Matt Moore took reps deep with the 3rd string but it was simultaneous with 1st and 2nd string and on the other end so I didnt see it much. Because of this I think I will just focus on specific positions everyday that I go.
Jordan's on the NFI list for now...we won't see him practice for a couple of weeks supposedly... Thanks for the info Seabass...for those of us who don't live in SFL, it's great to get these reports...
It's a good sign to see the offense win a day this early. Defense is usually ahead early. Obviously you can take every play as a positive or a negative (offense or defense wins/loses), but you want to see some efficiency out of the offense early as that bodes well. You kind of expect that if you have the talent, your defense will be able to fly around to the ball, but offense takes more synchronized timing.
The Bassman came thru like he said he would, thanks dude.. You seeing any flashes that make you go wow?
I really loved Miller running the ball outside, and Tannehill's accuracy is really good at times, like when he threw it over Grimes and Jones perfectly to Keller's hands
I think so, right now it is complicated because I am staying in Coral Gables, but once I move back to Broward I will go more frequently
Seabass was gonna do naughty things to Lloyd in the toilet stall, til Harry inadvertently foiled his plans.
Can you see speed showing up in the offense and how about Wallace does he stand out any? Thanks for the notes. Edit; Was for MrClean I caught it before he cleaned me.
There is so much going on that today I decided to focus on the group as a whole and not individual players, I will look at individual players in different practices. What I saw from the offense was a lot of speed. One second it seems like everyone is covered, and the next second someone becomes wide open. Speed plays a huge role in that
The character of Seabass in Dumb and Dumber, btw, was played by Hall of Fame NHL hockey player Cam Neely.
Neely is now the president of the Boston Bruins , and has been in a fair number of movies and tv shows including Rescue Me . Not JUST Bam Bam Cam , made a very nice and smooth transition.
Ok so I dont think I am going back to a practice until Thursday, any recommendations what position I should focus on that day?
Jon Martin. Cam wake ***. Cheerleaders. Dolphin bandits..don't understand the angle but they really are great fans.
