Ironic that you condemn crusades yet are on your own crusade to stop them.

Lookie there, seems like I'm still logged on. Must burn your chaps, eh.

    Nope, still logged on.

Teach his *** a lesson, let him live with what he said, face the consequences, the apology is fake anyway...interesting,

I like it, the Dolphins handled it in-house, and told him to keep his mouth shut, and he listened.

    LOL

is that really how you see it?

More like: "Mike, come on, you're smarter than that. Maurkice is up in PITTSBURGH, so he'll have to apologize. You simply do not mention it at ALL, to anyone. It's the offseason and people will forget about this once the season starts so just shut up and think before you act next time. You represent us. Go work out, son."

Miami might be following the principle of magnifying something only further perpetuates the issue. Best to let sleeping dogs lie sort of thing, and the timing of the incident shortly before training camp makes it possible to do so. It's kinda like a wife or gf who always wants to talk about an argument afterwards thinking it's great for communication, when all it does is reopen a wound and invite further argument after the wound has already started healing on its own.

The Dolphins should, imo, at LEAST have stated "Mike has expressed his regret and this is being dealt with internally." If that's true. If they said that, I missed it.

It's interesting to note just how much sway Philbin has internally, though. Very impressive.

The hat issue is bad but no longer my concern. New issue is Mike Pouncey apparently wants to apologize and Dolphins won't let him.

Why would apologizing make any difference? Simple to save face? No, thank you. He chose to wear the hat. This isn't a video game where you can just restart. You're held accountable for your actions. Philbin wants to focus on football and filter any distractions, THAT'S GREAT. An apology only rehashes the subject.

Why do you think Pitt wanted their guy to aplogigize, and ours didnt, what's the difference in philosophy?, why not let him if they weren't trying to make an example of his stupidity, I don't know, it's what I would want them to do but.

True, but can I just think their behind closed doors looking at each other smirking?

Either way I dig it, I'm glad he has to sleep at nite for a while with that on his shoulders, maybe it will make him a more humble person.

Maybe because "Hernandez" is in prison for murdering a PITTSBURGH BANDIT?

Caculated or not, apologizing or not, I thought he should in the beginning aplogize but I like that he has to keep his mouth shut..if he wants to apologize in a different forum besides standing behind our name to do so, then do it..he doesn't deserve our support.

It was more or less dead, but his brother revived it with his quotes today, which cast a new light on why Mike hadn't said anything yet. I'm sure it will soon fade into obscurity, but I thought it was worth adding to the discussion for now.

Hopefully it does fade away, if for nothing else I'm surprised at how we decided to handle it not allowing him to apologize and just say nothing....very interesting.

People will criticize and scrutinize the organization for the "no" statement. People will criticize and scrutinize Pouncey for any statement. Good organizations deal with their "individual" problems in-house, and this leaves the outsiders dealing with the organization rather than the individual. The problem goes away quicker, and gives the outsiders less to chew on.

And beyond this, I am willing to bet that it will be the last time a player does something like this on Philbin's watch.

About 15 years ago, another member of this site (finyank), and myself wore "Free the ODB" t-shirts we had made to a party. In case you don't know, ODB was Old Dirty Bas**rd from the Wu-Tang Clan and at the time he was locked up.

Although most at the party were displeased by the face on the shirt (ODB's) and confused by the whole thing, we didn't quite get the nationwide response the Pouncey's received.

And I refuse to apologize if you are offended.

Sounds like Mike Pouncey would be a good friend to have. He'll be beside you and have your back when your in trouble. Not some chicken**** that will run and turn his back on you.

I still think AH is a thug.

Word is that Philbn told Pouncey to keep his trap shut, seriously, do we think this was a lesson to make him live with the consequences, or don't say a word to make it go away?, I mean I know if I was Philbin I would make him apoligize to nip the stupid press from keep asking the question but is he just smarter than all of us?
