Exactly. If he plays the way he did in the second half last year, this Is a good deal. He was very good.

First of all, it's not a good deal because it's the MAX. The Wizards can't pay Wall anymore.

Secondly, you guys throw $16 million dollars per year at a player who has never been to an allstar game, is injury prone, and might be the tenth best player at his position, because his team went 500 after the all-star break?

    Somewhere Rashard Lewis is smiling

To be fair, they were far far worse than .500 without him.

I think he's better than 10th at his position if he continues to play the way he did in the second half. He was very impressive. They're obviously banking on that happening.

The Wizards had to pay Wall the max. That contract has been in turmoil for quite some years and seem to have a back court that in Wall & Beal than can be dangerous down the line. If Washington didn't do it, some other team sure as hell would've.

But they didn't have to do it now, right? They could've played out the year and just matched any RFA max deal next offseason. It would've let Wall prove that he's more than a good 2nd half and to show he can stay healthy.

    Oden supposed to decide today.

Heat, Spurs, Mavs the leaders, with Pelicans a distant "maybe"

Spurs fans seem to think there is 0% chance he chooses them. Which obviously means nothing but most are resigned that he will choose Miami.

I think it will come down to money, which means he won't sing with MIA, IMO.

Most people around the league seem to think he is leaning towards Miami. However that means nothing and you could be right.

FWIW He has been sighted in Miami at one of the sports medicine centers allegedly from some not rock solid but decent sources.

Funniest thing is that Mavs fans on quite a few boards got duped into thinking he chose them. He still may, but no decision at all has been made. They eventually realized it wasn't true. LOL

If he wants to make the best decision for himself there is no reason to fault him. He is basically deciding his career right now, if it ends up bad wherever he goes....it is over for him. Not mad he's weighing his options....but a bit frustrated he's been deciding today since 1 PM.

Funny but not at the same time.

It's not his fault he had knee issues. The man battled through depression and alcoholism after seeing his dream of playing in the NBA shatter before his eyes. No matter who he signed with I really wanted him to succeed. He's signed to a minimum deal for two seasons, with the second being a player option.

Pretty sure he was referring to Juwan Howard. The REAL reason we have two titles.

    D-Rose does not approve.

For a moment there I thought he had joined the Bulls. After all, we all know the best player in the NBA plays for Chicago......

DRose will henceforth be known as "the question".

Oden may stay on the active roster just to let Rose try to catch his streak.

It's going to be interesting for sure. I really hope he is able to stay healthy because he actually seems like a decent person who has had some really s****y breaks in his life to this point. Hopefully he can be healthy and contribute, even though I'm sure as a Knick fan you can't feel the same

More interesting will be next offseason and if he is healthy, whether we can manage to retain him.

Love this post on a Pelicans board.

I would root for him if he wasnt a member of the Heat. 5 minutes before I knew Oden joined the Heat I liked Greg Oden. Now, he can kick rocks.

Eh if he had signed with the Knicks I think I'd still want him to succeed. He seems like a good guy.
