sounds about right that freakazoid, I believe in this case were better off keeping his caloric intake where he can sustain his weight and just start building quality muscle in top of the frame, if we're gonna try to have him gain weight in inordinate fashion your gonna have to hook him up to an McDonald's IV with that dude.
Yup. And there's nothing quite so valuable as taking points OFF the board because your ball hawk rookie corner just snagged a ball in the red zone.
Agreed. Is this something that's been done before, a Red Zone CB? If not, use your connections and get the idea to Davie.
Agreed that his weakness was the deep ball, and I don't believe that it's all related to bad technique.
at Left Tackle? somehow I doubt there's much available for an upgrade on the market. and anyone that a team is willing to trade, probably isn't an upgrade
IMO Martin is somewhere between a below average to average LT. I think there's an awfully good chance that Jordan is an elite pass rusher. What about OV? He didn't show much as a pass rusher in college, but with great athleticism, a great work ethic and mentoring by Wake (all things he reportedly has now), I'd have to think there's at least a decent chance that he could be developing into a great pass rusher himself. That level of player should be roasting Martin. How many teams in the league will we face with elite pass rushers or even great (but not elite) pass rushers? When we face such teams I don't think it's that hard to scheme to protect a single weak lineman. Every single team in the league has to do that as no team has 5 great or even 5 good OL.
All good things must come to an end. Will Davis drops his 2nd straight would-be interception in 7-on-7's. He's now Sean Smith. /sarcasm
Oops. Olivier Vernon just got another sack on Jon Martin according to Armando. To be fair, Chris Perkins said he couldn't quite tell but he thinks it might not have been Martin's fault as it was a "back side" sack. Whatever that means. Armando says that's Vernon's 3rd of the day on Martin but Marc Deitchmann of WQAM had tweeted that OV already had 3 on Martin so that would be his 4th.
The Will Davis tally is 3 INTs, 2 Dropped INTs, 3 additional PBUs. Getting his hands on more balls per hour than Sasha Gray.
thats right stringer, he needs to get it up to around 5 to 7 %, that way he's totally lean, but not susceptible to a few problems that could come with sustaining such a low %.. I've seen some pics of this kid where the veins in his calves were so thick and vivid I thought they were gonna pop..( think thoroughbred horse) There's so many ways to get him up to 5 % the right way.. Great olive oil, whole milk cheeses, Starches, well marbled meats, nuts All day..
Eh, that is to much of a coincidence, can handle Jordan roasting him, OV is a good, not great pass rushing prospect as he lacks an elite type of first step, his is good and he has great size, but signs are pointing to Martin just not doing very well so far. He's not going to get any stronger in a month, he sort of is what he is. I still stand by my statement during the draft, imo Dion Jordan is a once a decade type of player so I'd gladly make that trade up to take him and roll the dice on Martin, at this point they have to be thinking of Plan B and Martin should be made aware of it.
Weren't you telling anyone who'd listen leading up to the draft that we shouldn't spend valuable picks on a Tackle?
I wouldn't call it positively giddy... Perhaps vindicated but not happy. A revolving door at left tackle is not conducive to success or Ryan's development year two.. In fact he may not make it through the season if he continually takes blindside hits. Nobody would be giddy about that.
I feel like I'm watching Ryan Tannehill's death in slow motion. So no I wouldn't say this is a giddy experience for me. Cynical? Sure. Macabre? Yeah maybe a little of that too. Giddy? No.
Even with a bad LT, the QB still has the ability to make sure he's protected. It will make things more difficult, but by no means should this make him some type of punching bag for opposing defenses.
Yep, that's me, especially after trading up for Dion Jordan, the real question is whether Philbin sticks with Martin, or if he has to compete for his starting job. IMO, Martin should be competing for his job. May sound odd FinD, but Martin did the one thing I cannot stand in a player, he got beaten/failed, and clapped his hands together and has gotten progressively worse since.
I feel like I'm watching the death of a tolerable, rational off-season on ThePhins.com in slow motion
Exactly. That's not sustainable. I highly doubt he's 3 percent. Men have 2-5 % of essential fat on their bodies...
Hmm, if Martin were "Joe Toledo UDFA" would this level of performance be tolerated w/o facing competition?
I disagree, I think the sense of excitement is great corner play from our rookie, and that our rookie that we spent some resources on just might be the real deal..these are very exciting to me, and I can feel the same amongst us..
I don't think anyone is really disputing Martin's performance. But the reaction to his play is pretty disproportional to how it will effect the team.
There's nothing to tolerate or not tolerate- It's we're not at the point where you should be showing intolerance towards a happening, and I'm not sure an internet message board is the point where you can do anything that means anything in that regard. I'm not sure what a Joe Toledo UDFA is either.
I don't doubt even for a second you feel that way. I'm talking about other people and they are practically loving this.
Sports Science measure it at 3.8%. 1:35 in.
After all, what is his sacks surrendered count up to now in 4 days or so of practice? 12? 15? More? To make it clear, if "Jon Martin" were a UDFA from Toledo, how long until he faced competition for his starting job? Somewhat surprised this has to be spelled out for you.
