Mega FINS Party in AZ this year!!!

RUMOR: Quarterback Samphin is taking the role of Pac Man as he plans to attend Las Vegas, possibly to make it rain. Coach FINintheMOON has yet to comment on the matter, but it's likely that someone else will be throwing the pigskin come September.

I have started checking on hotels in the area. I have been to Peoria, Az for Padres Spring training. There is a Hooters, a sports bar, IHOP, and some other restaurants there. Here is what I found on hotels so far.

Holiday Inn Express-102.00 Priceline, Peoria 9 miles away for stadium
Comfort Suites -112.00 Priceline, Peoria 9 miles away from stadium
Quality Inn-93.00 Priceline, Glendale Closer to stadium

If there is local brothers or sisters that can tell us which are better as far as hotel and surroundings that would be awesome. I want to try to stay where this some things to do, and it is reasonable for all the members that plan on going. We can also share rooms to help cut down on cost as well. Some of the hotels have two queens. I checked one of the 3 star hotels, and you had to stay Friday through Monday.

I would probably be coming in on Saturday, and leaving early on Monday.

Signage not permitted inside the stadium will be disposed of by stadium security unless the guest wishes to return it to their vehicle.

A few add ons.

The stadium is in Glendale which is on the western outskirts of Phoenix.

If you come in via Sky Harbor Airport, find one of MANY signs directing to I-10, then head West but before getting to John's house in Cali, go north on the 101. The stadium is directly off the 101 and can't be missed. Looks kindve like an enormous Golfball. It is located between Camelback Rd and W. Glendale Ave. off of Highway 101.

Comfort Suites which is brand new and offers some nice perks is approx 139.00 a night. Its off of Camelback road (South of Stadium) and is 1.4 miles from Stadium.

I am sure we could get some reduced rates if we go in numbers. Also, we really can't wait till the last minute, as obviously these places are gonna fill up pretty fast. If we wait till the end of July or early August, chances are pretty good we will end up as splintered groups

If we get a good head-count I can enquire at these places in greater detail. As Mama and I travel often, we also have "Good guy" discounts and options at a couple of these chains.

Thanks for all the info Brother. I appreciate the info on the hotels also. Some of the hotels seem to be booking up as well. Like you mentioned bro, I would be more then happy to contact a hotel that we choose to stay in, and work on the rates, and save a block of rooms for us.

Brother Ken is busy right now, and we are trying to get this going so we don't get left out without hotel rooms.

Hampton Inn is 89.00 a night with a AAA membership. Just a heads up.

 

Im staying at the Hampton Inn. I dont know if I got the AAA discount cause my friend booked it. I dont really care though. Im just ready to watch a Fins game and have a good time.

I have been on the Cardinal fan site. Some of there fans don't believe there will be a lot of Dolphin fans at the game. It would be awesome if we could get a lot of us there for the game. If you are thinking about going book your hotel now, so you have a place to stay. You can always cancel a day ahead of time at the Hampton Inn.

Yes bro I am pumping up this game, and trying to get as many Dolphin fans there for the game. I would love to see all of the California Dolphin fans to make this road trip. The place would be packed with Aqua, and Orange. The more fans we can get there the better!

 

If you are driving to Arizona, perhaps you could pick up a brother or sister, and split the gas.

 

It is a consideration. Considering that two round trip tickets (me and lady of Samphin) to Phoenix are gonna cost me 500 bones. I am wondering if piling into the car and making a 12 hour road trip may be a bit more economical.

Especially considering I don't pay for gas (although if I pick any of you slackers up, be on notice, you WILL be donating to the Samphin's company car wear and tear fund!).

My main issue is that I would have to take extra time off work and leaving after the game on Sunday evening would require that I drive well into the middle of the night, not to mention if I had to take anyone home.

Also of note, the Hampton Inn is BY FAR the least expensive out of the ones posted on here. I looked today however and the AAA rate is now up to 98 a night. Just so people know.

 

If anyone wants to split a hotel room... let me know... I really don't need a room to myself and figured someone would be interested in cutting costs...

 

I might be your Huckleberry on this one. The girl looks like she is backing out (apparently she just put it together that a bunch of guys + beer + football + hot sun = not very fun for girls).
