Like how you went on the Sox thread to make the announcement jerkball!!!!!! Well done Nappy, mad proud of you bro.....now it is time to work....put in as many hours as you can, you are 27 with a kid it is go time son...
Yup. Big things planned. The school is not only going to have the students enrolled. They are going to have private camps. Private individual lessons. So I should be engulfed in baseball. Which is exactly what I want. Thanks Bromontana.
Andddddddddddddd then there is EEI busting Buchloz's balls about being hurt yet jumping around and ripping Nava's jersey off....
Alfredo Aceves had a son, he named him Apollo The First Aceves. Anyone that has followed him and his career should NOT be surprised by this at all.
No I think "Apollo The First" is his first name. Actually I have no idea. Whatever it's Aceves, I'm just shocked he's not locked away in some hole in the middle of nowhere already.
hahah Finkle on a roll today!!! Sox is 1st, all is well.... this post reminds me of the one you had on A-Rod a litttle while ago that I wanted to use as a sig tried and it didnt work.... I will change it after Rivera officially retires....
I totally forgot, I just remember it being good, def domewhere in the middle of that Yankee thread...I will look when I get drunk one night.....
Anthony Ranuado has been promoted to Triple A. No word yet if he'll continue there as a SP or RP. EDIT: He's going to continue as a SP, will pitch Monday.
Haha yup. Although at least for 1 game Cody got the last laugh. But it is pretty insane that a 4th OFer/platoon player would be upset that a GM told him he didn't want to sign him to a long term deal. He should be thankful that the Sox signed him and he was able to have a career year for them due to a large part of playing at Fenway Park for 66 games so he was able to sign that contract 3 for 26 million contract with the D-Backs.
Serious question, money aside, who would you rather have for the rest of the 2013 season: Jon Lester or CC Sabathia?
Despite Lester's last start I don't think there's a question I would take him. CC has been really bad. At least Lester has some nice starts recently as well.
As a Red Sox fan I'm not sure I trust Lester right now. Kind of puzzling how he goes from a Cy Young contender into a league average pitcher without a major injury.
Yeah it's really too bad. I don't think there was a bigger Lester fan out there than me but it seems right after Beer & Chicken Gate he was never the same. Once he gets into a funk during the game he just can't seem to battle back and fight through it. I wonder with the pitching depth the Sox have if he's a potential trade chip in the offseason.
Ha no kidding huh. Great start, he looked good in a Sox uniform. Dempster, I hope he starts to rebound, because I suspect the next 2 years to be worse.
Good thing they only have him for 1 more after this one. We're getting ahead of ourselves here but he could very well be traded in the offseason or perhaps moved to the pen where he's a former closer.
Your right, I brainfarted and thought we did 3 for 36, well 1 more year of meh. I would rather move him back to the NL where he may have value then bring him out of the pen.
As a 4th/5th starter the Sox could obviously do much worse. I do think his groin issue is hurting his production a bit but I wouldn't be upset if they did deal him in the offseason. I would have to think any of the Sox SPers will be on the trading block in the offseason.
Henry Owens had his first Double A start on Saturday and went 6 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, 11 Ks and 0 runs. Again he just turned 21. Anthony Ranuado had his first Triple A start yesterday and went 6 innings with 4 hits, 0 walks, 5 Ks and 0 runs. I'm still giddy we were able to get Peavy without giving up either of these two guys.
All 11 walk off winners for the Sox (so far) for this year: http://www.overthemonster.com/2013/8/2/4581884/video-11-2013-red-sox-walk-off-wins
Yet another ex Padre winds up in a BoSox uni! I suspect it is karmic payback for trading for Calvin Schiraldi. Thing is, his throwing motion means there will always be a sort of back burner longevity concern with him.
The Red Sox just want it more. Seriously though what's happening to the Yankees this year is exactly like what happened to the Sox in 2010, 2011 and 2012. They never were able to field their "on paper" starting 9. It's frustrating as hell.
Yeah he's always an injury risk but the trade was definitely worth a shot especially since they gave up so little for him and he's signed for next year too.
I'm starting to think Farrell is a ****ty in-game manager. There has been a series of just mind-blowingly asinine moves over the last two-or-so weeks. The Nava PR gaff and not PHing for Snyder with Carp (the double switch was staring him in the face) against the Rays, trying to steal outs with Lackey on Monday night (giving the top of the lineup one more crack at taking the lead while John was still the pitcher of record) and then the complete farce that was the first inning last night. Workman is far from a sure thing at this stage, but why was Wright taking a turn in the rotation anyway? I wonder how long he's going to keep Napoli in the 5-hole? His advanced metrics suggest he's on the verge of a massive decline.
