It's the lighting and a function of the color pallette. If you look at FinDidiot's post quoting the pic, Tanny's aqua color looks different than the aqua of the guys on the line

I learn new perversions from you everyday!

Yeah, same reason the helmet stripe doesn't appear to match the uniform. It has a pearlescent finish to make it glitter and the light refraction appears to change the color. Supposedly makes the stripe look like moving water... The aqua looks more blue up close in natural lighting and more aquamarine in artificial lighting.

The uni's are more of a flat white, so they appear to contrast more with the opalescent white helmets...

I would've liked to have seen the numbers on the shoulders be only in aqua & orange to compliment the aqua & blue name plate. I think that would've been more proper and kept the entire design even cleaner.

The all whites are just plain old sexy.

If we went with an alternate that only had the blue and orange outline on the numbers (no aqua infill) with the pants getting the same treatment I would have a crisis.

I hastily added some stripes to the sleeves, but I don't know if I like it. It looks less clean. I realized afterward that the orange trim should match the orange trim on the pants, so it looks off.

Looks very old school. Match that with thicker orange stripes on the pants as well and it would rock.

Hey guys I own 2 Tannehill game worn jerseys from last year. Nike uniforms are great, and we use a 4 way stretch twill material for our number and name systems instead of the reebok standard poly-pro twill. And I can tell you from years of game worn jersey collecting, on comparison to last years jersey numbers to this years. The aqua numbers look nothing a like. The aqua numbers of last year are 100x darker and more metallic. The numbers of this year are tinted lighter. I can post pics for you guys in a separate thread once I get around to it.

Watching the replay...the numbers still don't match the pant stripe or helmet. This must be a mistake.

It's a combination of factors... Lighting and materials play a role, and aqua is a funky color that is greatly susceptible to lighting. It can look drastically different depending on how the light hits it... So the colors may look off because the numbers are in shadow while the helmet is lit up.

Problem is that the color corrector on my pc says they are different colirs.

It could be terrible lighting at jags stadium.

The numbers are made of some weird material to make it look like shimmering water so it looks different from the aqua in the pants. Is that what you are seeing?

Probably... wished the stripe on the pants ran up the sides of the jerseys. Would have made them look leaner I think.

The only change I can think of would be to drop the current orange stripe on the pants, jerseys and helmet and then change the blue stripe to orange. Talk about a CLEAN look... That would just be awesome. I have to say that I like the blue on the logo though. I like that someone took the time to photoshop stripes on the sleeves. That reaffirms for me that I don't want stripes. The small logo on the sleeve is nice and keeps the look clean.

It's the way the material catches and reflects the light... look at the numbers on Tannehill's shoulder, then his torso, and contrast those with the back of Clay's jersey in the forefront.

I'll go one better...leave the orange stripes where they are, just make them slightly thicker and drop the blue stripes.

Well...that would be a problem, since most people watch the game on tv.

I will say this though. Last week, we played in the worst lighted stadium in the NFL. This week, we play in the best. so we shall see.

I thought about that, but I wonder if that would make the orange stripes too big. Maybe a photoshop pro could take one of the pics that shows everything pretty good and make the change?

The color differentiations are disconcerting, but I think we'll get used to that and perhaps they'll adjust the uni's later on. Really looking forward to the new orange unis.

What bothers me more is the that that perlescent white of the helmets appears to be off-white when compared to the brilliant white of the uniforms. I'd rather the white helmets be more of a flat white like the Colts or Cards. The helmets look fine with the aqua uni's, but not so much with the white uni's.

Yup. I saw the pic before watching the game. It was definitely off on TV. Hopefully its the lighting. I bet they will look glorious in the Miami sun on Sunday afternoons...and on CBS, which always looks the best imo

Look at the number on the front of Ryan's jersey and look at the right tackle's helmet that looks like it butts right up to the number. They are 2 different colors, and that looks like poop! It simply does not compute unless it is an arena league team uni. They really need to pick one color of aqua (the one on the helmet preferably) and stick with it!

What do you mean it's two different colors? Look at Clay. His numbers and helmet are all the same shade. It's the lighting. Or are you suggesting that Ryan has his own special jersey?

    Its called lighting.

Tannehill's 17 is NOT a different color than anyone else's number. It just appears darker because its not facing the light source like the numbers on his shoulders or the numbers on the backs of the lineman and Clay.

You are just wrong and over reacting.

I get that, but light and shade are things we learn as children for crying out loud. I mean when someone stands in the shade does their skin change color? This is on the level of thinking the stars in the sky are light bulbs.
