Until either Brady retires, or Tannehill turns into the next coming of at least Eli Manning, their O is better than ours.
Until Philbin grows and is here long enough that we have consistency in all 3 phases of the game, Bellichick will always trump us, out-scheme us, out-maneuver us. Bellichick is HOF 1st round and up there with Walsh, Schula, Parcells, etc. Philbin looks good and I have a lot of confidence in him, but he ain't no Bellichick, yet.

Tannehill, Philbin and Ireland need at least one more year meaning this discussion IMVHO is irrelevant until 2014 at best. I just hope we keep all our staff and players developing through 2014 and beyond.

Speculation is what you do as a fan. We don't talk about stuff after the fact. That's why you don't see a bunch of threads saying "do you think that Marino guy was good?" Although there would of been posts back in '83 (if the boards existed) saying "you can't compare Marino to Grogan b/c Marino hasn't even won a game yet". You compare stuff beforehand. Afterwards its a known thing so there's no reason to compare.

And counting your chickens before they hatch would be assuming we will win something. Nobody is doing that here. Posters are just comparing rosters and teams and speculating how"ll they'll fit/work together.

No, we probably won't. We'll be talking about how the 2014 roster compares to other teams.

Looks like New England might be saving their offense with a solid running game this season.

D line and punter to Miami the rest is favored to NE or up for grabs.

Thoughts on their version of Dion Jordan - Michael Buchanan?

Their gonna try and spread teams out and run the football with a good oline, once the defense commits Brady will change the play and take his turn....

Pre-2005 Patriots with Post-2007 Tom Brady might be the scariest team ever created.

Agreed. I think they're going to run at people hard and in waves with those three RBs. Uptempo too, probably some Tebow read-option with power (like they did last week with him and Blount). You could see the beginnings of this in their redzone offense last year, imo; they ran it really often and really effectively when the field got shorter. The Pats have a knack for bringing fresh offensive concepts, and this year I think it'll be a pretty diverse, relentless running game. Should be interesting. Though I generally like how we match up with them when defending the run--even though we've had a tendency to lose a grip on run stopping at the ends of games (infuriating).

Shoot, I've been caught  somebody please slap the s*** out of me would you?

Geez that post does sound like him, but it is how I see us stacking up vs. the Patsy's this year, I do believe in 2014 so long as Tannehill steps up his game and we solidify our WRs, TEs and OL, the RBs give us a running game, in 2014 I can indeed see us taking the AFCE title away from the Pats. We will need Keller to be extended, Simms and At least one other tight end to develop into seam threats. Dion could and must become the second coming of Jason Taylor opposite Cam, and Olivier will also have to step up his game, which I see happening this season. Olivier had what, 7 sacks his rookie season last year? If he just increases that to over ten, that alone could relieve some of the double teams Wake has to face every play.

Wouldn't hurt for Odrick to turn into a serious run stopper alongside Soliai but also both need to step up their pass rushing game. I think this season our D in total can be better than the Patsy's, and we've seen that if we can put Brady on his butt and scare him the whole game, even if our Offense is just improved over last year, which I do think it will be, then we can beat the Pats. Giants proved this theory several times.

There, I've channeled my inner hatred for Heath Evans as best I can, forgiven?

I swear Evans hasn't hacked my "good" name. I would rejoin these boards under the new name "HeathEvansHater", that should do it.

    All's forgiven.

And there's no need to wait till 2014. We might not win the division but we're gonna beat their asses at least once this year.
