I'm going to go ahead and pencil in an "L" for that New Orleans game. Better yet, let's make that ink. In a tattoo gun. Drew Brees > NFL Also, clearly reports of the demise of the Patriots offense have been a teensy bit premature. On the plus side...we can beat Tampa. That can happen.
It's not overreacting when all it does is confirm what you've already been thinking pretty strongly for a long time. The Patriots criticism HAS been way overdone. And I've pegged the Saints as a surging comeback team that makes the playoffs and maybe even goes to the big show for months. Or maybe you meant the part about Tampa? Am I overreacting there? We'll lose to them?
So completely undecided people aren't right now as we speak really impressed with Tom Brady running the Patriots offense and how good the Saints look?
Good question. Brady and Brees had good nights, no doubt about that. But it's still preseason and I'd say the same thing if they both looked like crap and their teams got blown out tonight. If this were the regular season I'd take it more seriously, though when compared to Oakland or Tampa, Miami presents an entirely different set of challenges.
Tonight I saw net positives for opponents that will account for 5 of our 16 games this year. Last night I saw net positive for a 6th. On the other hand on the two nights I've seen net negatives for two of our opponents (Tampa, San Diego). I didn't watch the Ravens-Falcons at all...we play both. We also play the Panthers but I didn't really take a positive or negative from what I saw.
tampa clearly did not gameplan for the pats, nor dud they adjust to them. most of his catches, amendolas beating a linebacker. whoopdy do, he better win that matchup.
What was your take on Manuel? I haven't watched the whole game yet, but he looked good. He looks like he will win the starting job.
EJ Manuel has looked poised and talented in both games. At one point tonight they put him back in the hurry up, probably because last week the best he looked was in the 2 minute drill to end the half. He executed the hurry up to near perfection. I thought I was watching Chip Kelly's offense, they were operating so fast. They gassed the defense easily and the touchdown became inevitable. Manuel was very sharp on the drive. I wish Miami would do more of that now that they have better skill position players so they can run that kind of stuff...but then, maybe they will.
I don't think we're beating Tampa. They're now officially contenders to win it all. They might be one of the most balanced and complete teams in the NFL. Defensively, their front 7 is strong. And their secondary is as good as anyone's. Jonathan Banks being the biggest question mark and I think he'll be just fine. Offensively, Freeman can ball. And he's got two big, physical, playmakers in Jackson and Williams. Their Oline is one of the better in the NFL. And to top it off, Doug Martin is the total package. Tampa is going to be scary good when the regular season hits. I suspect they'll upset the NFC south and win the division.
when will you finally stop this bull****, you want austin..., patterson, a LT, Rhodes....anyone else i forget who got picked in the first round we could have picked with our 5 first rounders ?
Imagine if the Bills made the playoffs. Whew. You know, if the Pats win the div and the Bills make the playoffs, and we don't... there will be torches and pitchforks again. Of course, the Bills can't make the playoffs. That's ludicrous. Nevermind.
ESPN and NFL Network are going to flood the airwaves with Drew Brees highlights, doubt they're going to show this though: It's ex Dolphin great Jeron Mastrud running wide open down the field while the great one that got away, Matt Flynn, stands in a clean pocket with plenty of time to scan the field yet somehow manages to never spot Mastrud and the easy TD that he was running down field with. For context, this is the first drive of the game vs New Orleans' 1st string defense (minus Curtis Lofton). Oakland has already driven from their own 20 to across midfield, courtesy of a seam splitting catch by Davis Ausberry over SS Roman Harper. It's only preseason of course and this is the time to correct mistakes these, for both Flynn and whoever was supposed to be covering Mastrud. Keep in mind though, that Nawlins had the worst defense in the league in 2012. Not just the worst defense in the NFL last year, the worst defense in the history of the NFL, statistically speaking. Looks like they're up to their old tricks again. Sportscenter doesn't show plays like these but I guarantee every team who's playing Nawlins any time soon will see it. Think about that before you pencil the Saints game in as a loss.
The 2013 Bills remind me of the 2012 Dolphins. Might as well play the rook, not like they're going anywhere with Kevin Kolb.
Not a Tebow hater, but this ish is funny; http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-say-it-all-1-for-7-1-yards-1-int-0-0-rating/
Can we do a trade for the Saints OL. Yeesh. Literal 8 second pockets. Their tackle was 1 hand blocking a player.
Are you talking about the TD throw? OMG it was 9 seconds and there was still no Raider within 5 yards of Brees.
Man i did not want Matt Flynn when some were clamoring for him... Watched every freakin snap of that dude and came away UNimpressed, but he threw for 500 yards against the lions who had 0 to play for and some folks got bamboozled. Phewwww..
