Someone had said we lost a part of our game plan, I was trying to say more than anything we lost a huge crutch for Tannehill, if not the biggest go-to crutch for him, he has been all camp and preseason, and with the shaky o-line this is not what T-hills development needed.
I agree and I was hoping for our back up qb and our runningbacks to look better yet I may be expecting too much . I wonder how much progress we are making because preseason or not we need to beet the Texans and we are winless against them. I watched Dallas and the cardinals and Dallas had offensive woes and so did Jacksonville . it sure doesn't look like we have fixed the offensive line after all these years so something is going to have to change . Matt Moore makes Damon Huard and Sage look like Dan Marino . we need to look for another back up qb .
What ****ty news to come home to. There goes one of my sleepers. I was expecting somewhat big things outta him.
no its not we have issues and our second teamers don't look very talented and this could be a let down season if we don't add some more talent .
I don't think there's anyone available thats gonna make a big difference. I think we have enough talent for a wildcard. It really comes down to our QB.
Could the fact that Moore looked bad have anything to do with receivers not getting open and the OL not pass blocking well enough? He did have that one bad overthrow of Tyms, (I think), down the right sideline.
To anyone saying that was a dirty hit, blame Goodell and his cronies, not Swearinger. With fines being handed out right and left for "helmet to helmet" hits, defensive players are going to keep going low, thus resulting in what we saw tonight. It's not going to be the last time we see a guy get carted off because his knee got decimated. But player safety, right?
Guys let me ask a honest question here , Are we fooling ourselves into believing that Ireland is really bringing in talent when maybe he isn't , it sure seems like we are missing on players . Javorski Lane , Daniel Thomas , even Lamar Miller might be a wash . the oline still looks bad and there are other teams that seem to be rebounding quicker then Miami is. Egnew , Clay , Lane ,Miller , Matt Moore and the Oline look average but it is too early to tell but the signs sure point towards a bad year as of right now but maybe it will improve. So what will likely happen if our team wins 5 games or less ? not that I believe that will be the case but what is most likely to happen if we keep having injuries?
Heck man, there's still an entire body's worth of target to hit between the head and the knees. There's really no excuse.
There's only like 5 feet of player between the knees and the head. So the only reason to aim right for the knees is the intent to injure.
Yeah, and unless we bring back Randy McMichael and Chris Chambers, we probably won't win a game. Right?
Not in that way, just little faith in the backups to do anything of note. But maybe we'll be surprised by Dion Sims. Seems like he could be a surprise, but of course we have to see him in actual games. We often hear of promising players who disappoint.
Not sure what team you follow, but its certainly not this one If you find it ridiculous that Keller was a crutch for tannehill. Matter of fact He was brought to this team for just that. Wow. I don't even. Not sure if trolling, drunk, or illiterate.
i dont think i can handle this kind of a post after such a positive showing against a great texans team. The texans are a playoff team, if not more, and our defense just rocked their starting offense. Our offense, for one drive, sliced them apart. 5 wins!?
Bull****. I get the intent here... yes the NFL is encouraging hits lower, away from the head, but they aren't saying, take out the knees. Keller is 6'2". There's plenty of body below the head, and above the knees to hit, especially when he's catching a pass, basically standing up right. It's a low, dirty hit right at the knees by a player trying to make a name for himself. Sure the NFL is encouraging taking the hits away from the head, but they aren't encouraging helmets directly to the knee either, which is exactly what Swearinger did here. Shame for Keller. Shame that he was even in that position, I still dont think he should have been on the field at that point in this meaningless game.
Fact is, big men are hitting other big men at full speed, with full power. **** happens. It sucks, but the show must go on. NE is currently without it's two superstar TE's and Tom Brady goes out and does Tom Brady things. 11/12 w/1 TD. Teams with talent find a way to win in this league. While it hurts to lose Keller, who may have had a huge season, not all is lost. Hopefully we find someone (on the roster or otherwise) who can step in and play well.
Yeah, if every starter gets injured we fire Ireland. **** off with that. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
do you believe him? DJ Swearinger @JungleBoi_Swagg1h Everybody pray 4 justin keller....i pray you have a speedy recovery bro...and kill it when you get back.... DEFINITELY wasnt intentional..
Not fair. Your trying to get your team prepared for the start of the season. The starting Off. needed reps. Please don't try to pin this on Philbin. It was a freak hit in a preseason game that never should have happened. It was bush-league for a preseason game. Very very depressing for all
DJ Swearinger @JungleBoi_Swagg1h Everybody pray 4 justin keller....i pray you have a speedy recovery bro...and kill it when you get back.... DEFINITELY wasnt intentional Yes you dumb **** it wasnt intentional but the issue is that it was just a dumb hit that has too high of a high chance of wrecking a knee. He claims to be a big hitter but he couldn't size him up or he wouldve been trucked. No respect for sending your helmet at someones knee. And he calls himself JungleBoi...this guy is dumb.
OK. I didn't say it wasn't dirty. Keller is hurt and the season is still starting on time without him.
I'd probably put hartline and soliai above him and hopefully dion Jordan very soon. Maybe wheeler too given how awful we are at lib after our starters. Clay has made some big catches and we have young talent at TE so it's not giant hole on the team. That said, it still sucks
Mike Wallace looked like he was on the verge of crying when Keller was being looked at. I had the Texans feed and at one point Wallace walked into the frame visibly upset and looking to the sky. Really sad, unfortunate situation. I still believe it was a dirty hit, but I do not think Swearinger was trying to hurt him. If that makes any sense.
I hated to see Keller go down. Especially since I don't believe the Dolphins have another TE on the roster who can do the things he can do in the passing game. Right now the Dolphins are left with a group of very mediocre TE's on the roster. The one area I disagree with many on the thread is I don't agree that the hit Keller took on the play was a dirty hit. It was a clean hit and unfortunately Keller was injured on the play. There is no rule in football which prohibits the type of tackle made on that play, so I have no idea why many people refer to it as a dirty hit.
It's football. This ish happens way faster than a lot of us realize. If he says it was not intentional, I believe him. It takes a real arse to intentionally hurt someone. It sucks, but it's football. He came in to check on him after the play, and hit his head on the cart. Faking it? I dunno. But I don't believe it was intentional to take him out of the year. As I said, that takes a special someone. An Ed Reed type, when he intentionally tried to hurt a young Chris Johnson (and why I lost all respect for Ed Reed). Is Tannehill ok? Then we're ok. You ride and die by your QB. As long as he's upright I have no worries.
Obviously Keller won't be getting a better offer next year if he isn't able to play in the 2013 regular season. He will probably end up getting another one year contract from the Dolphins or another team in 2014. I think he is going to be very difficult to replace for the offense. He was the one TE on the team who could actually stretch the field and he is a legitimate threat once the Dolphins get into the red zone. I don't see those same skills from any of the other TE's now on the Dolphins roster.
