Jets: Pure Hatred. There is nothing good about that ****box of a team. Pats: I respect the organization, but their fans are bandwagoning douchebags. Bills: I used to hate them, but that is turned into pity.
While I will always despise the Jets the most, there is a special place in my bowels for the Bills after that decade of frustration when they were losing superbowls.
That is an organization I will never respect. From the snow-plow, to spygate, to the various other "advantages" they've taken from the league and other teams throughout the last 30 years. All that just to get embarrassed by the Bears in the Super Bowl. They are my most hated team...Jets a distant 2nd. The way the league kisses Kraft, Belichick and Brady's collective *** is just sickening.
Well the Snow Plow game wasn't the AFC Championship game.. that was the monsoon game in Miami where they went on to get ripped by the Bears. On Miami's first offensive play, running back Tony Nathan fumbled, and Patriots defensive end Garin Veris recovered the ball to set up Tony Franklin's 23-yard field goal. The Dolphins then marched on an 80-yard drive to score on quarterback Dan Marino's 11-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dan Johnson. But New England responded on a 66-yard possession to score on quarterback Tony Eason's 4-yard touchdown to Tony Collins. A fumble by Dwight Stephenson then led to Eason's 1-yard touchdown to Derrick Ramsey to give the Patriots a 17-7 lead. Just before halftime Miami missed the chance to cut the deficit down to 3 points when tight end Dan Johnson dropped a pass from Marino in the end zone on a 1st and 10 from the Patriots' 16. As the next two plays fell short of a first down, Miami settled for a field goal from the Patriots' 14 yards, but Fuad Reveiz' kick sailed wide to the right after a badly taken snap. Miami's Lorenzo Hampton then lost a fumble on the opening kickoff of the second half, and Eason converted the turnover into a 2-yard touchdown pass to running back Robert Weathers. The Dolphins finally scored again in the final period with Nathan's 10-yard touchdown reception to cut the deficit to 24-14, but New England's Mosi Tatupu later recorded a 1-yard touchdown to close out the scoring. Patriots running back Craig James was their main contributor on offense, rushing for a career postseason high 105 yards of the Patriots 255 total rushing yards in a game played in a steady rain. The win was the first for the Patriots at the Orange Bowl since 1966, the Dolphins inaugural season, ending a string of 18 consecutive losses by the Patriots in Miami and earning the Patriots their first trip to the Super Bowl in franchise history. I know you wanted to live this again ;D The thing that sucked about this game, was everyone in the country wanted to see the Dolphins/Bears rematch. The Dolphins ended up being the only team to beat Chicago that season on a Monday night in the Orange Bowl....we were rocking the place that night.
I'm the minority because I hate the Pats more than I hate the Jets. I always have since the days of Grogan and Pete Carroll and more so now with Brady and Billicheat.
49ers fans are pretty bad. Being a pretty big football head, I'd try to talk football with "49ers" fans a few years back when they were bad. Nothing, they weren't really interested in football. Nowadays it's "49er faithful" and "The Empire Strikes back" (Even though that name fit better for the Heat in 2012 IMO) and it pisses me off a little bit. The same guys who didn't know a lick about football give me crap because I'm a Dolphins fan. Ridiculous lol.
Thanks. Counting on Randall Cobb in a few fantasy leagues already so hope he has a huge year for both of us.
Growing up in the Bay Area, it was pretty crazy to watch absolutely NOBODY claim the 9'ers (everybody had Raiders stuff), then everybody and their brother come out of the woodwork with new 9'ers gear, etc, when they started winning...about as bandwagon as Pats fans.
The joke about the 49ers I recall from back in the Kezar days was during a game you could sit in the stands and talk to a friend in the stands on the other side of the field.
Killer bees my ***,Marino never had a defense, never had a running game, never had elite wide receivers, or tight ends.
I'm in the minority in that I don't care much about the Jets. I know from my years growing up in Miami that the number of NYers there create a great deal of antipathy, but I see them as an irrelevant franchise. Other than as a sideshow they have rarely mattered. The few times (very few) they've been good we were bad so it's not like they were the team that stopped us from achieving some goal. There were some memorable battles in the 80s, but they always seem to fade late and be a non-factor at the end. The Pats and the Bills have been more of a thorn for us. The Bills teams when they were making their 4 consecutive SB loss run were in the way. Those were prime Marino years and the Bills may have prevented a couple of his shots at a SB win. The same with the Pats. We've basically sucked during their recent stretch of success, but IMO Miami would have beaten the '85 Bears in that SB. I think that was actually Marino's best shot as we were just a match-up nightmare for the Bears who were otherwise far and away the best team in the league.
