As for the other guys that I've liked (even if only just a little bit) in the past that have been cut, they include:

    WR Sam McGuffie
    WR Da'Rick Rogers
    LB Stevenson Sylvester
    TE Derek Carrier
    OL Alex Parsons
    RB Joe McKnight
    DT Frank Okam
    DB Alonzo Tweedy
    DB Neiko Thorpe
    S Ray Polk
    OL Quentin Saulsberry
    WR Jheranie Boyd
    S Tom Zbikowski
    WR Kealoha Pilares
    LB Meshak Williams

Doesn't mean I'm interested in taking a bite out of any of those guys. But I wouldn't cry about it if the Dolphins did, either.

ESPN- New York Jets release Braylon Edwards

Just heard it on Sportscenter so no link just yet but...

Do we make a play for him?

WR Da'Rick Rogers and S Zbikowski are two guys who might be worth a look. Edwards doesn't interest me.

I like giving Rogers a shot. Although we do have 6 WR with Matthews, Tyms, and McNutt. Rogers is kinda like McNutt, could be better.

It would be as a PS option IMO. He'd be one of those guys we stash and develop for the future.

Word out of Buffalo is that Rogers isn't putting in the time and effort to be worthy of a shot. I'm not sure if the FO wants to invest anything into a guy with attitude issues. Zbikowski isn't a bad option to sniff at, but I am kind of disappointed that they didn't square away safety in the draft especially when they had neither starter locked up for more than a year.

Meh, it's all about setting expectations. Dude's coming from a small school, does not have a car. He is kinda down right now, but has ton of potential.

He does indeed have a lot of potential to go along with his attitude. Cutting him seems like exactly what you would expect a first year coach setting down the ground rules to do, but I don't think that this FO is the one to try to pick him up and turn him around.

I have a hard time saying Rogers is from a small school. He went to Tennessee and dominated in the SEC for his Sophmore year then got kicked off the team for failing drug tests.

This is a complete story of a guy with all the talent in the world, wasting it because he won't put in the work.

I think they all put in the same work, it's spelled out in the bargaining agreement.. It's about speed of development.

If true about Rogers, I'd pass as well. Success at most positions is mostly about the personality assuming a given level of talent. At WR in particular there are dozens of players that are speed/size freaks available that will never make it b/c they don't get the mental side.

I was also disappointed with what we did at S this offseason as I thought there were many opportunities in this draft.

Da'Rick Rogers is talented but I had him on thin ice, and having yet another coaching staff sour to him is pretty much the last straw. Let him be someone else's problem.

As I said the most attractive prospect that has been cut is probably Louis Nzegwu the defensive end.

That 9ers 3rd QB looked good last night. We have to keep a watch out for him.

    You mean B.J. Daniels?

As a USF fan I do find that ironic. But I don't think they're cutting him.

Da'Rick Rogers reminds me of an old saying about female celebrities: No matter how hot you think she is, somewhere there's a guy that's sick of her sh-t.

In Da'Rick Rogers' case, he's collecting coaching staffs that are sick of his sh-t like Larry King collects ex-wives. Yet, Rogers hasn't even done a single thing in the NFL to outweigh that.

    I say pass.

Question for you CK. Why in your opinion was Nzegwu cut when he has put up decent stats in limited reps? What's his downside to warrant being cut? Shame its a D-Lineman when its the Dolphins main and best unit but any added depth is welcome.

Patriots stashing Mark Harrison on the NFI list. Bastards.

Wish the Dolphins had the ability to do that with him. I still like him quite a bit.

I'd consider giving Sam McGuffie a whirl.

Even stranger. Marlon Moore has the inside track at the #3WR job. Either he all of a sudden grew up.........or San Fran's WR's are Miami 2012.

Saints lost another player in Will Smith, out for the season with a knee injury, i saw how he went off the field after the injury and it didn't look all that bad

That's not going to be a very good pass rush. They need pass rushers there. They're going to have to manufacture too much with blitzes. Luckily for them, Rob Ryan teaches proper execution and disguising of blitzes really well. And also lucky for them, Drew Brees will throw the football all over teams so well, it won't matter much of the time.

No guarantees that they exit the playoffs early, IMO. Brees is that deadly. Will depend on health of the teams.

Phil Rivers played football on a torn ACL. So did that Alabama defensive tackle whose name escapes me for the moment (was it Chapman?). I've even seen a kicker continue to place kick with a torn ACL. Sometimes those injuries can indeed look pretty innocent.

There's more to it than just a common denominator. It's taking an initiative, putting in extra time, asking questions of veterans and paying attention in film studies. Just because a CBA says you only have to do something a certain amount of times doesn't mean everyone is taking advantage of that time equally. Coaches notice who is taking their profession seriously.
