When was the last time we had a starting quarterback go through the preseason, albeit not over yet, without throwing interceptions? I really like Tanny. I would say above all other things, the Miami Dolphins over the past decade had not only turnovers, but the most untimely turnovers. I like an Tanny, a lot
Interceptions are a problem, but what's more important to me is that the QB recover from the interception and forget it even happened (don't throw scared).
true, but I can count so many times in the last five to seven years that we've ended the game, or lost the game because We threw an interception in late..last few minutes... and the game was over. He's smart and composed. Nobodys perfect tho. and don't even get me started on last year we're all we had to do with kick a couple field goals to be in the wild card.
Not throwing interceptions is extremely important...But you know whats more important? A QB that throws touchdowns... 12 TDs in 16 games is unacceptable. Hes got 3 in 4 games this preseason, and considering his playing time thats good. So while no interceptions is impressive, I am more keened on his TD throws so far this preseason. Small sample size. But he needs to double last years TD production to have a successful season.
actually he's got more like 3 TDs in 1.5 games, so by that logic, he's on track for 32 TDs. He hasn't played 4 full games, it's preseason. [EDIT] nevermind, I had to read your last statement twice to see you were referring to last season, carry on..
Tannehill looks scared to let it fly. So many times he winds up, only to chicken out at the last moment.
I see that as playing to his ability ( its preseason, airing it out isn't commonplace) and not trying to force plays. Forced plays lead to turnovers. Turnovers lose games.
now, come regular season yes he's going to have to put his balls on the table. but no interceptions is a very good thing coming out of PCs if you can hold on to that.
In 2010 this was CP's stat line: PASSING STATISTICS Player----------- Att Cp Yds Cp % Y/A TD INT Rating Chad Pennington 28 17 156 60.7 5.6 2 0.0 99.7
I criticized RT for not letting it fly on that called long pass to Wallace, but RT stated that Wallace had been pushed out of bounds and that was why he checked it down.
that's a pretty vigilant check down, no?Edit: did he end up making a completion on that play? I do not recall.
