I have spent a couple of days thinking about being the VP of Football Operations. I have done this for a couple of different reasons, but for the most part, I am trying to figure out what BILLY might do once in power…

Now all that follows is based on MY opinion and speculation and I have NO links to support them. However, knowing football as well as I “think†I do, there are some that may disagree to how much I really know, I feel that the following may be a good assessment of things to come next year…

GM – Mueller is kept through the draft at a minimum… Depending on his current draft selections, which I am sure he has a few locked up by now, determines if he will be back next year… The reason that I say this is that if his draft is in the right direction and, he is willing to make a change or 2 with what BILL wants, the guy gets another year… However, if he fights BILL on more than one, he is done!

HC – Cam has a shoe in automatically because he took the first step in rebuilding this team… Not many 1st year head coaches would do that. That is something a veteran HC would do… He cut a lot from the cap and in doing so, is suffering from it. However, I think BILL will be impressed by this and Cam’s job is secure. And for those of you that don’t understand the dynamics, Cam not only got us space under the cap, but also has endured a season with many of the starting offense and defense hurt this year… BILL will not overlook that as he has endured the same in his time…

    The following coaches are gone…
    Mike Mularky
    Dom Capers
    Keith Armstrong
And half of the supporting staff under those coaches… We have one of the bigger coaching staffs in the league and that will change…

OC – I have NO idea about this… Anybody’s guess

DC – I think Ryan would be a great fit here… Point is the position is available…

OL Coach – I am not sure about Houck… The real question here is whether or not he signs… He has finished his obligation and if he does not want another contract, he is gone… However, if he wants to go, he is in. If he does walk, I think Davis is a lock…

OL – Now there are a few good nuts in this basket… Satele, Carey, Hadnot and Shelton… I think that all of these guys are back next year.

RB – Ronnie is definitely back and I think L. Booker and to many a surprise, Ricky Williams… Outside chance for Chatman…

QB – Lemon and Beck are both back… Trent will become the QB coach… BILL will go forth and find a vet to fill in until Beck is ready…

    WR – Ginn, Caremall, Hagan

    TE – Peelle

DL – I think the ones that will be back next year are as follows:
    • Jason Taylor
    • Holliday
    • Roth
    • Moses
    • Porter

DLB – I think the ones that will be back next year are as follows:
    • Zach Thomas
    • Crowder
    • Pope

DB – This is the CBs and Safeties. I think the ones that will be back next year are as follows:
    • Bell
    • Lehan
    • W. Allen
    • J. Allen

Well these are my thoughts… I really believe that the TUNA is not coming in here to clean house but to turn this team around… We have many of the elements in place and if it takes the TUNA to be in charge, so be it!

    Thoughts?

I think Bill is basically going to be the GM, even if he doesn't say it. He is going to bring someone in as 'GM' that will basically act as his assistant/head of scouting.

In terms of Cameron, you give him a lot of credit for getting rid of some players. But we do not know how much of that was him, and how much of it was Randy. I do not believe Parcells is going to keep cameron around because of what he did last year, or because he had a lot of injuries to deal with. Parcells will keep Cameron as HC if he believes Cameron has what it takes to be the kind of coach he wants.

I was just about to post a thread about the same. I would love to see Ryan, Rivera or Singletary come here as DC, but think they all may want to be a HC at some point so it may not happen. But incentives in their contracts may persuade them.

Does anybody think that Houck could step up to OC.

I dont like Armstrong much and wished that Westhoff had never left.

I would hate to see Chatters leave the team, but they must keep Lo-Bo.

OL I agree with, but still needs upgrading through the draft.

Is Lemon back. if he is that is great, but I thought he was leaving.

Camarillo has to be given a chance, although as well as Hagan has played, I still think the jury is out on him. Still dont see what M booker has done wrong. Would love the Fins to pick up Crayton, although Johnson looks more likely under the circumstances.

Interesting you label Porter as a DE rather than a backer. Do yu see Tuna playing more 3-4 or 4-3, or leave it to the HC. Listening to me speak right now, it is almost like a HC doesn't exist  Frightening!!!

Parcells influence on the draft. In the past he has been one for favouring D and dominating from the front seven in particular. With the emphasis on O as just getting the job done, rather than be spectacular (great O lines and a good TE) Do you see the Fins drafting D with the first 3 picks or maybe you see them sneaking a TE, OL or WR with the 2nd or 3rd pick?

Yes... I see them drafting D in at least 2 of the 1st 3 picks... If not all 3 then an OL guy amongst them...

hadnot will likely test free agency and will not be worth pursueing, we have to have a back thats a bruiser and i wouldn't be surprised to see parcells draft a power back in the draft (xavier oman 7th round or so), Ryan Torain or Matt Forte although they may be to high a pick, i don't see zach returning as he is to undersized for what parcells likes in his LBs. I also think he will keep one of our Safeties weather it is hill or y. bell

I believe that CAM is a lock for the OC... He had the balls to start the rebuild... BILL only has to over see it from here on out...

I have seen this statement too many times... When are you going to believe that size DOES NOT MATTER!!! The man has been a beast his entire career for God's sake! HE has what, 7 or 8 probowls in 11 years?

Parcells wants guys with HEART and Zach Thomas has as much as anyone in the NFL in his entire carreer ! As long as he can produce, Parcells will welcome him with open arms. And I hope that he can come back.

    For the record, he is 7x Pro Bowl selection (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006)

Just my own 2 cents....no one should disregard the possibility that Trent Green may very well be back at QB next year. I know that quite a lot of fans don't want to see him back, but what we want or don't want doesn't matter. Some things to consider: Parcells does like veteran QBs. Green hasn't stated that he will retire. He did state, however that the last injury wasn't as serious as the one the year before. So don't be shocked if Green shows up for training camp next year.

Bad as I hate it we can't rule out the possibility you could see Pennington here next year.

I can't rule out the possibility that I'll come home one day to find Lacey Chabert and Andrea Rincon in my shower, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen.
