Probably best at this point in time just to have Pouncey focused on football.

that's the point, he's still being bothered with the question so wouldn't an early apology even though it would be of the fake variety be better for his state of mind, unless Philbn is just mind fu&$ing him.

What if Philbin just said, hey, one of our players took a stance for one of his college friends, while I may not agree with it personally, that's none of the miami dolphins business..

At this juncture, anything Pouncey or Philbin could say on the matter would just be perceived as an attempt to placate fans. Miami chose to ignore the issue so as to not draw even more attention to it. Perhaps they felt the public's knowledge of Philbin having a chat with Pouncey would provide sufficient closure w/o the need to publicize it or have Pouncey offer a statement of apology. They handled it internally, and the public could fairly well assume it would be addressed internally, so holding a press conference to announce it was handled internally would be somewhat redundant and would do more to reopen the wound rather than help close it. Nothing good could come from it.

This is like, #534 on things a team worries about. The Rooneys are always on top of stuff like this, so it's understandable they jumped on it quickly. Philbin doesn't care. Philbin wants to get to work. Good. Let's get to work. Let's not pretend like Philbin is some ultra-sanctimonious guy here. They signed Rodriguez with a long rap sheet after a team cut him because of that rap sheet.

Was it that long? Two thing are all that they seem to talk about and the first incident, the one that happened in Miami, all charges were completely dropped. So that makes the long rap sheet one DUI.

Was it stupid to wear the hat, sure. The team not letting him apologize, who cares at this point. Apologize immediately or move on. In the end I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal. I'm sure the front office had a chat with him and within the organization it's been handled.

Reading the Rolling Stone article. Sheds some light on the Pouncey's relationship with Hernandez. Apparently they were assigned as his "Baby Sitter" and if the person described in the above scenario is in fact AH, I can see why they had his back. I can see why they are staunch supporters of the guy, however misguided.

    Can he block?

What the hell does this have to do with football?

This media today- too much for losers like us in forums. You're telling me a human being is an idiot or said something idiotic? Get outa town. Who knew?

Let him keep blocking the way he is as well as not being a murderer, rapist, wife-beater, etc, himself; I couldn't give a $hit what he says in public or private. He speaks on the gridiron and with conviction.

Im on drugs because Im defending the best player on our line maybe our entire offense for defending a college roommate?

Hell, if you think Hernandez is such a gangster with gangster affiliations, Pouncey may be trying to avoid a drive-by. Would make him pretty smart in that case.

This is the reason I can't stand baseball anymore. Every channel is a gossip piece.

BTW, you guys love America? No. Are you anti-Americans? Okay. I win. Pouncey wins. Chu lose. Innocent until proven guilty, baby.

Is there any doubt that the guy, even if he wasn't part of this heinous crime ( which I think we can all agree he was) is a malicious gangster who doesn't deserve to be part of a public society? No doubt. But is he guilty? Not yet. Again. Me, 1. Pouncey, 1. You, ZERO.
