So, Tannehill, Miller, Jordan, Martin, Odrick, Vernon, Pouncey, Jones, Misi, Egnew, Clay, Soliai, Hartline, Mathews, Sturgis, Fields, Jerry, Taylor, Davis, Clemons, Carroll, Wilson, Thomas, Sims weren't drafted?

And yeah, depth is a problem. We did just completely remake over the team for all new offensive and defensive philosophies too.

This! I have us going 10-6, but my top expectation is 12-4 if we can at least split with the Patsies, or, dare I say, sweep that ***!

9-7 seems about right, decent team with a difficult schedule; i might have said 10-6 before Keller went down. The other issue is the depth really, there are probably 6 players we have little back up for who would have a severe impact and losing basically any of the starters hurts us.

Everything I see and hear has them at 7-9 through 9-7.
Getting tired of that. I'd really like to think we improved immensely.
I'll take 11-5 and we shock the world!

Most are...I'd say like 60% of your list are players that I would label as good...and that's me being pretty generous and including some of the rookies who have yet to play a single down in a meaningful game like Jamar Taylor, Sims, etc....but as far as Martin, Egnew, Misi, Jerry, Carroll, Wilson, Thomas, Clay and Matthews....lol no. All those guys are either average or below. We could probably cut all those guys save for Martin (not because he's good or anything, just that we have absolutely nothing behind him) and it would still have virtually no impact one way or another on our season.

And I was actually talking about players that Ireland has drafted, so that excludes two of the best players you listed in Soliai and Fields.

Ok, so dropping Fields and Soliai, that's 22 drafted players we are talking about and 13 are good to excellent (including what looks to be a franchise QB).

Plus out of your horrible list, the story isn't told on Martin, Egnew or Mathews yet, considering all 3 have made huge strides from last year already.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find significantly better draft numbers.

Start 4 and 4... Winning 7 of our last 8, going 11 and 5. Our record down the stretch is not bad at all. Can we battle thru the first half of the schedule and keep things from crumbling down to the ground. Dion Jordan and Jamar Taylor could make this defense great this year. But they'll need to get 100% healthy by the midway point of the season. But it all starts with Tannehill.

And Misi is a good player. The fact that he was drafted ahead of Gronkowski shouldn't change anyone's opinion on his play. He's a good linebacker.

I think we'll tie with the Patsies. We need to own those conference games.

If the Dolphins win the first two games I'll go with 9-7.

If the Dolphins lose their first two games I'd have to with 4-12.

If the Dolphins lose to Cleveland and Indy, I don't see a win until Buffalo after the bye, and 0-5 is really hard on morale.

If 0-5 were to occur we might even see a trade or two. Perhaps they might put Starks and Incognito on the block if the playoffs appear out of reach.

Browns should be very beatable with the personnel they are going to have missing or dinged up. It should be a win, but if isn't, yikes!

    Just trying to be realistic.

I agree, but you missed one thing.

If the Dolphins lose to Indy, then the Jets will go 1-1 against the Pats and 0-2 with the Bills for the season. Which can only mean we finish 1-1 with the Jets. But only if we Lose to Indy by more than 5 points, after having led by 12 in the first half.

i will go with 9-7 with a chance at 10-6 and playoffs ...

    - depends on the development of Jordan/Taylor throughout the season
    - a TE steps up to contribute
    - find a RG to be even average
    - no major injuries

First of all, you're not equipped for a witty insult battle on these boards, so I'd suggest dialing it back.

Secondly, I wasn't insulting you, its just that your post was utter nonsense.

    Let's break down the ridiculous:

In no way does winning or losing the first two games account for a 5 game swing in record. Even if you want to pretend there'd be momentum or morale issue, then you'd have to start taking into account how and why we won or lost those games before you'd have an argument even remotely worth a damn.

In 2008 we went 0-2 and then went on to 11-5.

    Bring a verifiable fact.

Same piss poor logic. This is ^ absurdity. Again, bring a verifiable fact.

If we go 0-5 then waaaaaaaaay more things would happen before that happened. It would be like Step 52 in a 57 step process. Again, bring a verifiable fact.

Numerous reason we could lose and many of them don't spell gloom and doom for the Dolphins. Again, bring a verifiable fact.

Before you insult my education, maybe you should read up on the definition of the word realistic.

There way to much pessimism in this to be a thread on a Dolphins forum page. Or it could just be that I am horrible at being a realistic Dolphins fan. It hurts to see Tannehills name in the same sentence as Hennes, so can we just at least avoid that

    Anyways, 11-5 adios pats

What is absurd is asking for verifiable facts about a season that hasn't started yet and games that haven't been played. That is what is utterly ridiculous.

It's a prediction thread. Get it..............a prediction thread.

If you don't like my prediction, fine, but to call the post nonsensical, is, in itself more nonsensical than anything seeing as how it is a PREDICTION! thread.

I stand by my previous comment even more so after this nonsensical demand for verifiable facts to be inserted into a post about predicting the team's 2013 record.
