I could see him approaching 4k, but not 5k. If he gets as high as 5k, I foresee our offense actually having great success personally.
I heard that, pretty funny... I'd like him to get to the 4500 yard maker with his rushing totals added in..
If he is throwing for 300+ per game and we have the defense I think we might have (even more excited after hearing some players talking about Dion Jordan lately) then we'd be closer to 12-4 than 7-9 IMO.
Was he snickering or elbowing anyone? With a healthy Keller, or other receiving TE, and another year under his belt, Tannehill might be able to get it. That would mean a hellova lotta passing... ala Drew Brees.

As long as we're winning and Tannehill is playing well its all good. I dont think Tannehill gets to 5k personally but 4200-4400 including rushing wouldnt surprise me. More importantly is Tannehill getting to 30 TDs. Thats the number I really want. Yards are just yard...you need them to get points, specifically touchdowns. If youre not getting points then yards are only good for fantasy football.
You heard some of that good stuff comin out the locker room??.. Doesn't sound like the normal stuff does it?
I think he'll have to get 5 to 7 rushing if he wants to hit that number..we don't have enough weapons.
Speaking of NFL access..Merriman says Dion will win rookie of the year, douchebag follows with' he's got a slender frame"..lol In the next topic he refers to Brady as "tommy" I really want to see him in public and get my *** kicked, I promise I'll get in one shot, a few choice words, and maybe do his wife at a later date.
The Hitman Hartline will duplicate his Zona game ten times this year so the question isn't whether or not Tannehill will reach 5k but how far he'll surpass it.
or Aquafin or LBsfinest. ....wait a minute...I don't recall seeing either of those guys at the same time as Heath Evans.
I LOVE IT! YOU go boy.... Warren must've REALLY liked what he saw when he went to Dolphins camp. Why can't most fans still out there neck like that? IF the big three stay healthy at WR, as well as he, then I say 26 TD's/12 INT's for Mister Tannehill, and over 4k.
I'd be jumping for joy if Tannehill hit 4000 yards with a 2-1 TD to INT ratio. If he threw for 5000 yards, we'd win the division.
30 TD's is a lot even with all the advantages the passing game has. If Tannehill throws 30 or more TD's we are definitely in the playoffs and could be in with a shout of winning it all. In each of the last 3 seasons there have only been 5 QB's to throw 30 or more TD's.
Well, it was a "Bold Prediction" segment, so maybe he was just a little high?? Seriously, I look to see improvement, and with Keller I could have envisioned this, but until the guys we have in his wake show something, I don't see it now...Not that I don't think he'll be a better QB, just not as good as he could have been...
I thought about Sapp's prediction overnight and while it may not be one that I would make, I do think it's a reasonable "bold" prediction. Reality is that the pass yardage totals are going up every year. Pass yardage records are falling fast. Taking a wild guess that a young QB who has recently added many passing weapons will be the next to surpass a passing yardage record is a reasonable wild guess.
It's beyond ridiculous and let me tell you why.. In order for Tannehill to even have an Opp. to reach 5K, the Dolphins defense would have to SUCK. It doesn't. He won't reach 5K because he doesn't need to for this team to win. He needs to improve and take care of the ball and that will be difficult enough with this O-line.
Even with rising passing yardage, only 4 times in the past two years has 5k passing been surpassed (only by 3 different people at that). Additionally, it is incredibly bold to predict a guy has a 54% increase in productivity IMO. Even with 125 more attempts than last year (he'd have been 7th in attempts last year with that number), and the same YPA, he's sitting at only ~4150 yds. To get to 5,085 (on 610 attempts) he'd have to increase his YPA to 8.336. All of that would be a hell of a jump from yr 1 to year 2. I'd love it if he did it, but I just can't see it or see how it isn't a bold prediction.
No... you have it backwards. Tanny will have plenty of opportunities because the D will be great! The Offense will have the ball quicker, and a quicker paced offense equals more scoring opportunities!
Except that when your up 28-3...in the fourth quarter, you stop throwing the ball. QB's that put up those kind of yards, put them up because they need them to win. With this defense, you won't need 5000 yards.
Here's the complete list of QBs who have gone over 5,000. Not a long list. (Marino was the only one who did it before this century.) http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_yds_single_season.htm Not going to happen.
