Sorry, we were a better team than the Ravens before last night's game and we still are. Their D is well below ours and their offense was going up against a very weak pass rushing team. They wish they had an OL as good as ours and IMO our OL is average.
Okay. I'll give you regular. Maybe thats how desperate I am. I admit I didn't watch the game passed a few minutes into the 3rd. My damn tivo just stopped recording. I was enraged. Any way, I was watching Flacco last night with envy, thinking how much I'd like to have a QB like him on my team. He's a very good QB. He does a lot of little things right that if you're not paying attention, you miss. And he's packing an RPG. Payton looked magnificent. Its a joy to watch him play. He doesn't anger me. On the contrary, he reminds me of Marino so, so much that I enjoy it. It was blatantly obvious to me that the Dolphins of last year and this preseason cannot run with the likes of Denver. They can't. And I just need them so very badly to come out and beat the brown of off Cleveland, so very badly. Its like this feeling in the pit of my stomach. I could Mauia through a wall right now.
Let's be honest here. Flacco finished with a 69 rating. The ravens punted 9 times. They looked DECENT in the first half with two touchdowns. They didn't score again until the score was 42-17! And if Trevathan hadn't had a serious brain malfunction, it would have been 49-17 before they would have scored next. ie. garbage points. The Ravens were def not scoring "on a whim". If Tannehill had finished with this showing, he'd be blasted everywhere for being terrible last night. I also think that the Dolphins offense is better now than the mess we've had to bear witness to for the last few years. Tannehill did a fairly good job moving the ball this preseason. They just need to work on red zone work and getting tds. I think you are seriously underestimating this offense. They are no longer terrible.
One of those two TDs also came about because Welker muffed a punt at like the 3 yard line. It wasn't because the offense was decent.
Usually when a team losses two 1st ballot HOF and a couple of other starters on D, it doesn't work that way. I do like Flacco and Rice. Their Offense needs to do their part all year long, though.
Decent is an understatement. I'll agree to a Stitches regular but decent my tush and Flacco regular is Tannehil supersized squared. If we're not the Broncos last night, can we run with Baltimore? And don't give me rhetoric about a team we haven't seen yet. We added a home run WR and a dependable WR and if we wouldn't of lost our TE I'd be singing a different tune. But if its a touchdown for touchdown slugfest, can we win? QB rating. I love stats. They tell the whole tale (can't find the sarcasm smiley). Oh, i quoted because I don't think we are terrible. But I know nothing comes easy to us. Every game since God knows when I've watched with clenched teeth. And the big connections for scores? On the endangered species list. Ball is always just over thrown, or not thrown in stride- it's always something. The beautiful pass Decker dropped in the endzone last night. That sweet floater that just perfectioned so that decker didn't need to move his hands. I cant remember the last time ive seen hat in Dolphin colors.
Flacco (by all indications) is a lot better than Tannehill, but where they both were after their rookie years weren't too far apart. Flacco's 2nd year performance (statistically) is about what I'm hoping for from Tannehill this year, though Tannehill will probably have to shoulder more than Flacco did that year.
4 whole games till I care about the Ravens vs Miami. Till then, what the hell am I gonna do!!!??!?!??!?!??!??!
No wonder your opinion is so off. They fell apart. You notice the final score? And that didn't include a pick six the LB dropped as he showboated into the end zone. Their OL looked overmatched by a very weak pass rushing team. In fact, their whole team looked overmatched.
Whats worse imv is there is no chemistry yet ... their back end was sloppy, out of gas, and out of place most all of the second half Thursday night. Easy pickings for Peyton .... as the numbers showed.
