You're right. Guy should not have played it post game the way he did. I tell you this from a human side, when I'm flustered, I do a terrible, TERRIBLE job of hiding it. I even shake. I'm a hell uva no hold em' player and can't elevate my game into huge winnings because of it.

Wow, really? The fact that our starting OL had problems with what amounted to their backup DL makes you launch into a what-if about the OL? OK, here's one in response: what if the OL, after 6 years of continued reconstruction, was able to handle the backup defensive linemen of one of the worst teams in football?

That wasn't a fluke we saw out there. You can expect more struggles. And I guess I can expect more excuses from people who think it's their job to excuse away performance.

 I missed this from last season.

Actually he did. Wallace has a career 16 catches for 333 yards against Cleveland, averaging about 21 yards per catch against them.

Maybe you're missing my point, or I'm not making it clear enough. I'm not saying we should use him like this all game, every game. I agree 100% with you that we need to get him the ball. However today, its just not what was working. Whether we planned it that way, or if Tannehill just didnt feel comfortable with Haden, and a safety all over Wallace... It's tough to see on a tv broadcast. I'm just saying, he's got no reason to go complaining to the media and acting like a baby because he didnt get enough catches today. We won the game, he may not have impacted it on the stat sheet, but he did on the field, and we won. that's what matters. He needs to recognize that. I agree, to get where we want to go, he does need the ball, but sometimes you just got to take what the defense gives you, and if that's not your #1, then you take it with the #2, and #3.

Im with you, just not in regards to how Wallace handled it post game today apparently.

    It's all good.

Maybe Randy Starks is counting how many sacks he got... that's one. Most people don't start counting with their middle finger but to each their own. Actually, how upset is he that he's not starting? IMO Odrick didn't play spectacularly, he was clearly behind Soliai (who got amazing push most of the game) and Starks. Are the Dolphins not starting Starks to keep his numbers down and make resigning him easier? Crazy thought eh?

Starks is angry with the team for what he sees as retaliation for him not attending voluntary offseason OTAs, which in turn was Starks being angry for the team franchising him, which in turn was because Starks was annoyed with what he perceived as a lowball contract offer.

What the everliving balls does any of that have to do with what I said? The browns are NO WHERE near as bad as you are putting them, They are not great or even that good, but they are not as much of a kick-a-long team especially after their off season and it being a home game for them. Us as fans were not all 100% sold on a win today, and it seemed like the world was predicting a loss by us, what does that tell you?

Back to what I originally said : If our offensive line had even an O.K. game. DECENT, PAR, whatever you want to call it, That game would have looked more like the Broncos game (obviously a bit of an exaggeration but not by much). Even at their worst the o-line doesn't usually look bad enough to give us franchise-low running numbers.

    Defense played championship caliber
Tannehill Looked great for most of the game, and questionable in a few parts.
the O-LINE was utterly HORRID with the run blocking. and maybe kind of "OKAY" at pass pro.
Miller could have made a few better decisions but 90% of the time he had NO WHERE to go.

    so, yeah.

Being a fan isn't a job, nor is seeing the negatives without the positives...that's being a biased critic. Our O line sucked today, partly because of themselves, partly because of their defense. Their O line sucked today, for the same reasons. No team can win EVERY series, every down, every game or play. All teams struggle...why do you expect ours to be any different? 19-0 or complete failure I guess.

My expectations were low so I was pleasantly surprised but you hit the nail on the head with the word "difficulty".

I posted somewhat to that point in the Ravens thread and got bashed for it. We have to claw too much for the points we put up. Its draining and it wont hold up against the top teams in the league. When you've got (was it plus 3 i honestly cant recall at the moment) that many turnovers against a very average football team going into the half, your defense is playing strong, and your down by 1? Win all day, the future is not promising.

We have to be able to not depend on our defense for an entire game or we might as well bring Wannstedt back. Wallace is the key to opening the door that can elevate our game. If we can't find a way to get him on the key chain, you'll continue to see FGs instead if TDs and we'll continue to see the Patriots reign supreme in our division.

Perk up a little bit. Tannehil looked very, very good. My only critique is Jesus Christ can someone tell the kid that he should be flinging the ball over a receivers head rather than taking the sack. He certainly has the arm not to have trouble firing it into the sidlines.

It's our biggest problem at this point, and it should be the coaching staff's number one priority. The only thing I saw out there today that gave me hope is that in the fourth quarter they began to pass-block really well. Maybe they can do the same thing with the drive blocking.

well if he plays this well upset at the team, I'm inclined to just let him play the season out anyway . Nothing else we can do right now regardless since it's passed the deadline.

This actually makes sense and is a reasonable point, but I will say I firmly believe the disgusting O-line play had a huge play in that hand.

Irregardless its very true, we eat up an ENORMOUS amount of time and usually don't put up the numbers we should in said time.

There's literally no excuse for copping a **** attitude with your coaching staff the first game. It's ridiculous, it's immature, and it's an incredibly bad portent for the future.

That's Terrell Owens level ****. I don't know that Brandon Marshall would do that, off-meds and getting no targets in a game.

Even before the addition of Kruger & Groves, or further development of Sheard, the Browns still got 36 sacks last year. They were not bad at rushing the passer last year.

While it may not be a common sight, it doesn't appear Ireland views Wallace as any common player, but rather one to which his future may be inexplicably tied.

He was happy, productive, and embraced by Pittsburgh. I don't care what it takes, but if they managed to make it work, come hell or high water, its up to Philbin to see that it works here.

No, dude- definitely agree with you on this. And I'm about 80% sure Philbin is not going to take it as "Maybe the guy has a point" regardless of him having to set Wallace straight which we all know is the job of the coach regardless of whether it carried merit.

But whether it was today or leaked to a reporter mid-week, I'm glad the attention has been forced so it's an awkward position for me. I don't like his actions but I o like the results. It's time to wake up. I want to win the division and a Super Bowl and today's output won't get that one.

Saying that, we do have to appreciate the small things in life. We dont know what tomorrow brings, if we will be awake to enjoy another breath. And I am grateful for great BBQ and a win. Life is good.

Don't forget energy nor exclude the psychological effect. You and everyone here should've had one instance in your life where you battled, you battled, you battled and when you picked up your head to check on your status, you weren't far from where you started and you eventually said f@$k it; tomorrow is another day. Well, we only have 16 days. Know what I'm saying?

I told you guys in the Wallace thread. Forget this $60million decoy crap. He got paid $60 million to produce. Also pointed out his frustration and lack of concentration when not being targeted.

Very first game and there it is.

Fans telling Wallace to shut up because we won would be the very first to criticize him if he had the same performance and we lost. So I'm not going to be hard on him. What happened to all that offensive genius talk we heard. Looked very plain today.

I think he would do fine with Jesus covering him. Considering those long robes the fellows wore in Jesus's day. Also sandals. Kind of hard to run wearing sandals and a robe.

Other than the #2 corner, and nickel back, that is not a bad defense we faced today. In fact their other ten starters are very good.

I don't think his being upset means anything, you can be happy about a win but still be upset about not contributing to it.He'll get over it. Philbin will settle him down.

Which shampoo do you use? Perhaps Head & Shoulders would help with that itch. Or you're the kind of guy who wants something more natural, some tea tree shampoo may do the trick. Must have taken away from your viewing pleasure being distracted by that constant itch.

Jesus Christ. Haden was pushing him down the field all day. At one time the Wilcotts talked about hand fighting down the field. Most of the pushing came from Haden.

Hopefully This makes Wallace more hungry. I think it will. Andrew Luck's luck will run out at some point. There won't be 3 dropped interceptions next week like the last time we played those losers and lost by only 3 pts.

This might be a process. This is going to show teams you can't double Wallace all game and still expect to win considering Gibson and Hartline will catch the throws. Something is going to have to give, he's just going to have to be patient.
