A lot of people here were wondering why or how he made the team. Thought he had a pretty good game on special teams. When it comes down to it, it apprears… that is why! thoughts?
Eh, missed the game, with a Thigpen fumble, then a called back return Td, ST did have a great game all around.

He seemed to be around the ball a lot, made a couple good stops including that last kick off return dropping the guy fast enough to put the Browns offense in a good hole to start the drive.
Even though one was wiped out by a penalty, he made two very good ST tackles. Earned his paycheck today.
Jones made a great play on special teams to drop the return man and put the Browns in poor field position on their final drive. He ran around the blocker and made a sure tackle as the the return man started upfield. Fields also had a monster game. They need to take Carroll off of special teams because he's hurt the team with that holding penalty to bring back Thigpens TD return. Shelby also played a heads up game on the sack he went straight for the ball. He didn't force the fumble, but it was close and Weeden dodged a bullet on that one.
Yep. He had two great tackles on special teams that i recall. I was wrong about him when he made the 53.
I had a feeling this kid would contribute. He's exactly what we drafted him for, to be a our designated flyer. He did an excellent job today.
Yup. He made great plays both times, very fast, nice tackles too. He looked good out there on ST. If he keeps it up, he won't loose that roster spot likely when we're ready to bring someone up on the offensive side. Hopefully its Stanford that gets the boot.
Well, when cuts were leaking out Barry Jackson did say Jones was probably making the team because the coaching staff thought he had a lot of upside on special teams. I guess we saw some of that come to fruition.
