I'd be more shocked if a number 1 WR who caught 1 ball wasn't upset and not being involved more. They want the ball and that's a good thing.

He was going up against a very good CB today and RTH missed him deep a couple of times. Tannehill and Wallace will get in sync and once they do, our offense will make some leaps and Wallace will be a very happy man.

If that Starks crap was aimed at our bench u would suspend him without pay for a game.

Also. This Wallace stuff is ridiculous. I want my #1 to want the ball too. And be upset if he catches one ball. But that doesn't mean he should be showing he's upset after week one win by 13. He needs to show more composure then that. That's ridiculous.

    The Starks bird:
Do we know that was done in anger? Maybe he was just giving someone some playful grief. Everyone has given the bird in a non angry way before. I think there's overreacting going on here, per usggggeeeee.

    The Wallace thing:
He's pissed he didn't get targeted more. That's good thing as long as he isn't giving up in games and making coaches change positions. He talked smack before the game and came out the chump. I bet that's what this really is about. He will eat the Colt's DBs breakfast next week, after making love to their wives and rifling through their medicine cabinets just to be nosy.

    The Rishard Mathews thing:
I did not see it. Can someone please explain what happened and about when it happened?

I don't know what Matthews did but there was a couple guys including Tannehill that were pissed at him and shoving him and he ran back and got a look from Philbin. Maybe a potential personal foul?

Yeah very true, also he needs to remember that even tho Hartline and Gibson are good receivers, they don't have the speed of Brown who was opposite him in Pitty... Hayden, from what I saw didn't, really give Tanny much opportunity.... Every receiver thinks he was open every play, but that simply wasn't the case yesterday...he'll get his times...

Barry Jackson confirmed it was aimed at the Miami bench. Starks already tried to pass it off as a joke with an 'unnamed' teammate. Up to Philbin to decide the intent/punishment involved. He'll probably see a team fine at the very least.

Why are you so convinced it was an eff you to the staff? Have you honestly never gave the bird to a friend when talking smack to each other?

This is way overblown. I bet he doesn't get a fine at all from the team.

I'm sure at the media availability today or tomorrow Wallace will apologize and explain that he just was frustrated that he didn't contribute more but that of course he is happy for the win and will continue to do whatever is asked of him by the coaches.

At least he actually wants to contribute. Albert Haynesworth took $40 million guaranteed and basically retired.

You're getting paid 60 million, if Philbin wants you to run 40 yard streaks every damn play then that's your job because you're getting paid 60 million. We won, get over it.

The Rishard Matthews thing... we were up by I think 10 points at the time, looking to run out the clock, inside Cleveland territory. He's playing the WR to the left of the formation. It's a running play, he gets into it with a defensive back after the play. They wrestle each other to the ground essentially. Knowing the refs, we were lucky not to be flagged for 15 yard penalty and/or a mandatory deduction of 7 points off our scoreboard. But this was when the other 10 guys on the field, I saw Tannehill, I saw Pouncey, specifically come over to him and push him to get off the field. One of them pointed to the scoreboard and you can imagine what he was saying. "Don't take a stupid penalty up 10 points in the 4th quarter"... or maybe he said "after the game, we are headed to Stitches favorite diner for some bacon and eggs, yolk and everything".... either way, the message was delivered because Matthews was off the field.

You said he "tried to pass it off as a joke". You don't say that unless you think the person got caught doing something they shouldn't and is trying to save face. If that wasn't your intent, then i apologize.

    Thanks.

Rishard has a nasty streak then, because i saw another point where Tannehill ran and got tackled, and Mathews rips the defender off Tanny and keeps pushing him away while helping Tanny to his feet.

    I think i like that.

This is about Wallace talking **** before the game (about Haden getting his rest) and then not backing it up during the game. I don't know how Philbin would react to that directly... but I know how Mike Sherman would react. Look, nothing wrong with being confident before a game. But if you can't back that up in the game, next time, keep your mouth shut and let your actions on the field do the talking. This isn't rocket science.

yup, first throw was underthrown because of pressure up the middle. After that it was either Wallace thinking he had to slow down because of the underthrow, or Haden was messing him up with the arm jockying. Either way, he had a couple of steps on one of the best corners in the league... He should have a field day against some of the lesser talented corners this year. Tanne's deep ball isnt the greatest we've seen, but remember, it was also very windy at the game, neither QB could connect deep, unless you count the Weeds to Carroll connection lol.

Well he didn't really have much chance to back it up on the field considering Tanny didn't even look at him in the first half.

WADR, this bizarre made up fact has to end.

He was actually #1 last year on accuracy of passes over 20 yards. He did that with only Hartline and Bess, btw.

That's basically my take also. I think he may have been led to believe by the coaching staff that he was going to be a big part of the game plan, which in turn led to his smack talk beforehand. When his big game didn't materialize for whatever reason, he probably felt embarrassed and angry.

I was at the game yesterday and I have few things to comment on. Someone earlier in the thread made a very good point in that Sherman did not appear to game plan Wallace to be involved in this game. And that is concerning. Wallace ran comebacks, streaks, and square ins and tannehill never really even looked at him. Wallace was visibly getting more upset as the game went on. He was walking back to the huddle and did not have good body language at all. I understand that we won, but this is not going to cut it against better teams. I watch teams around the league and it seems almost unheard of that a teams superstar wr is not involved with the offense! Does anyone ever see Roddy, Julio, dez, megatron, Marshall, Fitz, or Andre not see targets?

I mean seriously, Wallace didn't get a target until the third quarter. What kind of crap is that? You have to get a playmaker involved with wr screens, slants. Let him get a rhythm. Haden is good but he's not superman. Wallace had space to make plays if given the opportunity. This coaching staff must do better. Period.

I understand that... but if you read the entire paragraph of what Wallace was saying, its not trash talk. You are doing exactly what all the media did, they took one sentence out of the entire thing (the one about getting sleep) and running with that as if he never said the things about Haden being one of the best in the league. I'm just tired of people twisting words. I dont know if you ever played a team sport, but if you did you would know what real trash talk is lol.

hmm maybe it was a coordinated attempt by the coaches and the player to promote him as being the guy with the most targets before the game. I don't even know if the most homeristic... homerific... homerful? of us can say this with a straight face...

There's a difference between playing a team sport, talking smack on the field with your teammates at either the highschool or college level vs professional football, talking smack the week before the game. One thing you are right about, I haven't seen the whole paragraph of what he said.

I expect Wallace to have a big game against the Colts. I think the game plan didn't include getting Wallace off because we could beat the Browns without him having a big day (23 to 10 proves that with him having five targets or whatever it was). We'll need him against the Colts however. Especially if our run game continues to struggle.

but he was a big part of the game. he kept Haden off Hartline and Gibson, kept the middle and underneath open.

Having an attitude after one bad game, the FIRST game of the year is silly. Hopefully this is a one time thing because its on every sports webpage I've visited and its the only thing the national media is talking about Miami for right now. Wallace needs to shut his mouth, this pouting after a win is TO type behavior, I can't stand it. I'd be disappointed if I was him but we won, STFU and congratulate Hartline on a great game and move on. If you have an issue with how you are being used go to Sherman's or Philibin's office.

I'm going to take the conspiracy theory approach and say that this is all an elaborate scheme to obfuscate our plays until we play the Colts and go 2-0 on the road to start off. We only put Dion in in garbage time too. We are holding back for something and that holding back might be for the Colts our AFC Wild Card competitor. Similar to how we held back the Wild Cat until the Pats. Yep. Thats what I'm going to go with.

well to answer your superstar targets question, i own dez bryant in one of my fantasy leagues, romo dropped back like 50+ times last night and bryant had like 6 targets all game, after the game he said because of his double coverage he helped the other receivers get open and treats its like a sign of respect his way.....thats a reaction i would like to see from wallace too

How do we know that? I bet he's an option in every single passing play. In my opinion Tannehill was just not comfort enough waiting for him to get open or he simply wasn't open on most plays...
