They asked him again if Philbin thought that was directed him and the coaches. He said no.

    Is Grandpa Joe a liar?

Back on the topic of Wallace, this is just an amusing piece of irony:

That was Dez Bryant, speaking to reporters about his disappointing 4 catch, 22 yard game against the Giants.

When DEZ BRYANT is handling lack of production with more tact than you, time to look in the mirror and say to yourself "Ok, time to stop being a d-ck."

Then again, Dez didn't put up with the local media asking him daily during training camp when Romo and him were going to start connecting on the deep ball. Maybe Wallace is tired of getting badgered by the local guys with the same questions over and over. Sure he could handle it better, but competitive people react emotionally. Shocking, I know.

Really? You think Dez Bryant hasn't had to deal with media?

That's tunnel vision. You don't know about it, so it doesn't exist.

    Now that's pretty funny.

Again, where did he say he was upset with the "coaching staff", is there a quote somewhere? Because I haven't seen it. I've read that he declined to speak with reporters and directed them to the coaching staff to get their stupid ***'d questions answered.

I'd say their anger is producing sacks, pressures, TFLs, pass deflections, and headaches for the opposing team. Starks has been a stalwart on the line for 5 seasons. He's in a contract year and needs all the good tape he can get so of course he's upset about not starting. That's common sense. But the idea that he's flipping off "the sideline" after sacking QB b/c he's upset about not starting is 100% conjecture by anyone who's suggesting it. In fact, saying he flipped off "the sideline" shows how ignorant people are of why he was doing it or who he was directing it towards.

That's not the story, it's just more conjecture on your part.

This may be the most dickish, and bluntly honest thing I say all day, but my mind immediately wnet to "I wonder if that's how he dealt with his sons, and why one of them ended up high on the ice on a river in the middle of the night?"

Non-football, sure. But that's what popped into my head when I read that line about Joe Philbin and his personality.

I apologize Joe. Not a classy thought on my part. (But at least I'm not flipping you off).

No, no, no, he was flipping Coyle for benching him. No, no, Coyle's in the booth. He was flipping off Philbin so that he could relay the message to Coyle in the booth. If he's still a backup vs Indy I'm guessing he'll drop his drawers and moon Philbin.

    Now that'll be a story.

Being from the New England area, I'm forced to hear the same stories every year in regards to Bill Bellichick and the Patriot front office. Players like Wes Welker, who aren't "shown the money" and/or have previous franchise tags factored into negotiations get peeved and "leak" their frustrations to the media. I can guarantee you that for every GM in the NFL, there's a handful of players willing to label that individual an a--hole.

How do you think Cam Wake feels about Ireland's "tactics"? Reshad Jones? Brian Hartline? Koa Misi? Ellerbe? These guys are happily paid, so you don't hear a peep.

Unfortunately, in the NFL, you can't pay all of your players to their satisfaction. Long, brutal negotiations are common because meeting all of the team's needs under the salary cap isn't easy. Some players understand that this is a business and choose to handle the process more professionally than others. When you have an agent b-tching through Twitter, I'd argue that you're not modeling the appropriate demeanor for your client.

NFL GM's have a tough job. Show me one that everyone loves, and I'll show you a guy that's soon to be unemployed.

LMAO remember after the 3rd day of camp then the story was Tannehill-Wallace, NO CHEMISTRY. Then after the Jax game it was "Dolphins tried and failed to involve Wallace". Then he torched Johnathan Joseph at Houston and the morons shut up, temporarily at least. Ish is hilarious.

why does Mike Sherman get a free pass if he calls plays that doesn't use our best player and we cant score then the offensive coordinator should come under scrutiny . I think fans are way too hard on Wallace lighten up folks I see great things for this team but we could have problems if our O.C. doesn't use the best players .

Pads, you must be older than I thought!

This whole thing with Salguero reeks! He picks out stuff like this to keep his clicks up... And, if you read down the list of comments, which I just spent 2 minutes doing, the readers reflect the writer! Must be a whole lot of transplanted NY/NJ Jets and Bubbleo fans down there piling on for good measure.

Right now, Sherman is safe because the Dolphins won the game. If Miami continues to win, how can you argue that he's using his players incorrectly? If/when the losses come, his seat will get awfully hot.

That said, this could all prove to be a moot point if Wallace becomes more involved as the season progresses, which is what I expect.

For the record, Starks' agent Tony Paige (former Dolphin) told Barry Jackson (think I have the name right) that Starks' was joking with a teammate. Starks himself hasn't commented I don't believe.

This wont be a very popular post on here, but I don't really care. I'm not a regular on here anyhow.

Philbin's leadership qualities aside, those concerns may be valid.

As far as Starks and Solia go, Cry me a ****ing river! I wonder how these dudes would feel to bust their *** for their entire adult life, make countless sacrifices to their family and body, actually be considered good for their sport, ranked in the upper tier, and make jack **** for money? And when I say jack ****, I mean below the poverty line. Well, there are plenty of sports out there there like this. I see why my father for the first time in 50 years has chosen not to watch football, and I see why the older generations in the U.S are disgusted with this narcissistic "Give me my money" attitude professional players have now.

If Solia is pissed they offered him 15 mil instead of 25 mi, stfu and sign somewhere else for all I care. Just be glad you can piss and whine over millions.

I know I'm about to get slammed on here by many, with comments like "They sacrificed and they've earned it". I'm not disputing that. They have earned it. But handle your business like a grateful and humble man.

And for the record, I hope Solia and Stark stick around. They are great players

Judging from Philbin's comments today, Wallace and Starks will be dealt with internally, as expected.

Omar Kelly: Joe Philbin joked that Randy Starks middle finger was "probably directed at me." gave his speech about players acting appropriately.

"Mike is a competitor and he wants to feel like he's a part of the game....Any great competitor would feel the same way," Sherman on Wallace...

I wouldn't expect anything less. We'll see in the days to come whether these issues come to light again.

I understand that us common folk get P.O'd when players demand more money. But honestly, it is more a product of how well the NFL is doing more than anything else. This is a multi-billion dollar sport where the players average what? 3-5 year careers? You have to get yours while you can.... Not to mention they all have these slimy, greedy agents working for them that cultivate the players greediness. My stance on the starks and soliae situations? Just pay them, they are pro bowl caliber DTs.

The notion that players should be grateful for whatever they get is simply outdated thinking that comes more from envy than anything else.

The average career in the NFL is 3 years. You need to make the most you can, as soon as you can because it can be over in an instant.

sure, in the abstract it's silly to pay professional athletes these sums of money for playing a game but our society has determined that the special skills those people posses are valuable. So therefore, they are paid what the market and their sports respective systems will bear. There is a huge difference between $15-25 million even if you'll be rich either way. It's not greed. It's wanting your market value.

This Cantor dude has to be the biggest joke of an agent in the league. Airing the negotiation frustrations on twitter? How ******* unprofessional can you get? Soliai should can his *** and hire a real agent. Even Drew with all his media exposure does not do that kind of thing.

Not trying to get into a debate here, but that's really not what i was arguing. Ironically, I DO think they should be paid and I want them to be Maimi Dolphins next year. If people think being grateful and humble is considered an outdated quality, than consider me outdated. They should go after as much as they can while they can, but I believe if this was being handled respectfully/proffesionally by the players, it wouldnt be in the newspaper and it wouldn't be tearing a locker room apart. I'll leave it at that

I understand and I'm not trying to start a huge philosophical debate here. My only other comment would be that Starks and Soliai did handle tings professionally until they felt they were disrespected or otherwise treated unfairly by the organization.

Also, Mike Wallace made the media rounds and declared everything fine and that he was just frustrated that he didn't have more of an impact.

He was happy that they won but he doesn't get overly excited week to week becuase he expects to win every week.

I like Misi but this surprised me too. Considering the number of snaps he plays, less than the nickel back, it does not seem like a judicious use of cap space to me.

Wow, you calling someone else out claiming speculative information?

You do realize I live in Dallas and listen to the local media everyday. And no, Dez did not have to deal with the local media asking him constantly when he's getting on the same page as Tony Romo.

I swear this board likes to argue for arguments sake.

Soliai has been playing for a year and did nothing for the previous 3 and as far as Starks how much is he getting paid right now.
Wallace got also paid like he caught 100 balls, these so call disgruntled ***** are not GM employees looking for a better deal, when do these players act like pro's and play the game well and then look for a payday.
To some the team management is always wrong, the draft was wrong and the negotiating tactics wrong, and then comments are they overpaid.
I have enough respect for some of the guys that gave fist bumps they seem to know their football most of the time but when it comes to management I think they come up a bit short.
What about Soliai's agent airing his complaints on Twitter, nice move they are really concerned about the team.
