I was at the UM-Florida game today. Sun Life Stadium was packed and LOUD. The fans weren't complaining about the heat, (even though the game was at noon). They weren't complaining about the seats or anything else regarding the stadium. They were there to enjoy a football game between two college teams and they had a great time, (unless you were a Gator fan).

There is nothing wrong with the stadium that a winning Dolphin team won't fix. Ross can give all his money away as far as I am concerned. The Dolphins don't need a new and improved stadium to create excitement. Once the team gets turned around and starts going to the playoffs again, the crowds will return. As today proved, they can be extremely LOUD when the stands are full and the Dolphins are giving them reason to cheer.

Since when does Ross need permission from the other owners to pay for upgrades to his privately owned stadium? Most owners play in stadiums that are publicly owned and therefore they can't do whatever they want to do with their teams stadium without getting public approval. That is not the case with Ross and his football stadium.

Ross is worth over 4 billion dollars and he made that money by buying and upgrading properties he purchased over the years. I don't think he has ever been worried about how others feel about him upgrading these properties with his own money. If Ross is so scared of how the owners would feel about him paying to upgrade HIS own stadium, perhaps he shouldn't be the owner of the team in the first place.

I wonder if he had to get permission from these owners before he put in the dance club at the stadium. I believe that thinking Ross doesn't want to pay for the upgrades without taxpayer support because he doesn't want to offend the other owners is naive on your part. If Jerry Jones can spend also a billion dollars of his own money to build a football stadium without the other owners being upset. There is no way that Ross spending half that amount to upgrade his stadium would upset these same owners.

MR ROSS to donate Millions of dollars to Michigan

Anyone here the cbs update ? well Boomer E. came on and said Mr Ross is expected to donate 100 million dollars to Michigan to help with academics and stadium renovation.

Boomer said its strange that Ross spent millions of dollars to help Michigan but he wouldnt spent a dime on his pro team the Miami dolphins. man this is mind boggling how in hell can Mr. Ross want taxpayers to spend tax dollars when the man himself has the money to spend ?

the thing I took out of it is that Ross is trying to put the rebuilding on the tax payers instead of paying for the stadium itself.

the thing is does Miami need to spend tax dollars on sports stadium?

LANDSHARK STADIUM should be renamed and re modeled but it seem that would cost more then just building a new stadium.

while the initial spelling is correct, the subsequent spellings leave out the e. E stands for ecstasy, which is what I give my women (or else they wouldn't sleep with me), so I like my E. :wink2:

If I were Ross I wouldn't even want that stadium. Sun Life is a dump.

Starting out 2-0 would get the ball rolling in that direction.

Agreed - since we're speculating, it's possible it was a situation where he either gave it to uncle sam or donate the money, so he chose to donate it.

The seats right next to mine are missing their cup holder completely. It's been that way for the past two seasons. This sometimes results in a domino effect of drinks in the wrong cup holders all the way down the row.

    Like i said, you're naive.

You understand the NFL is not a regular business right?

If Ross spends his own money, then that's a mark against the other owners trying to public money to fund their stadiums in the future which will make it harder for them.

Yes, he can technically do it if he wanted to, but he'd be treated like a pariah by the owners. And no, this is not about him getting ignored in the hallway like in high school. Its that he won't have the support of the other owners in more important matters should they arise. He won't get SBs. His voice won't be heard.

The NFL is basically structured like the mafia (more or less) or a cartel.
