Just finished the game.. The play where he gets the sack, I'm not 100 percent, but it looked like he ripped his shoulder there or re-aggrevated it, I don't believe that was a celebration after the sack, I believe when he looked up at the sky it was in angst, also think he tried to hide it on the next rep, but I believe he was holding a limp arm..I hope I'm wrong but from what I saw it didn't look good, his arm got caught up where his shoulder was in a compromising position. Have we heard anything? And btw, we freakin dominated that brown team on the road, I'm suprised at some of the reactions, we made some mental mistakes but physically it was no match, Tannehill has improved no doubt, and the defense was swarming..we have no run game I know, but if we're talking about a proper ascension for a coach, his team, the Qb, were on pace..Tannehill looked real good..I believe they lengthened his drop point? Hope Dion is ok man
I thought he was looking up because he knew he got caught for the facemask. Haven't looked at it since though, dunno. Hope you're wrong.
Well, if his shoulder is still giving him that much trouble, you have to wonder how long until they just put him on IR. I hope it's not that serious.
On another note, wasn't he a full participant in practice today? Didn't see anything about him not being there or working off to the side.
I recall that play and how his right arm seemed to be ailing him during the rush. Probably has to do with the harness he is wearing along with not being 100% strength wise yet. Hoping for that anyway.
since both Taylor and Jordan are long term investments ... posted during camp that i would still rather have put both on PUP until after the break and see where they are at ... i don't care where they were drafted clearly we are better with Jordan on the field, and maybe they figure his shoulder can't get any better 'this' year ... so they'll get what they can -- if so - bad plan, but who knows what the real deal is. what i do know is that 'playing thru it' is not a bright course of action and that a healthy Jordan and Taylor make this defense even better .... YIKES!
Should be mentioned that the arm he used to grab the facemask was not the arm with the shoulder harness on it. If he hurt his shoulder on the play, it was during his pass rush against Thomas and he didn't really seem to make much contact with Thomas during the play. Also, when he looked up at the sky I'm pretty sure it was because he knew he grabbed the facemask and knew they threw the flag. He definitely cradled his shoulder and arm at times like he was still babying it a bit, but if you recall there were some questions about whether he would even play in this game or not...so it wouldn't surprise me if he's still feeling it.
Sometimes an injury that lingers for a while still lingers in the mind. Its like a chest infection cough. It becomes a habit after the main event. He may be going through the motions by habit alone.
Dj,, i agree, not sure if he actually hurt it on that play but i noticed on that play that he did not look right. he may not be healthy and if that is the case it'd be cool to shelf the kid for the first 6-8 weeks and get him right,,, he is a long term investment.
"I never lost to Andrew Luck, I don't plan on it." -Dion Jordan He sounds to be confident and ready to go to me
One thing to consider is that he could have gotten a stinger. I used to get them all of the time when I played football. They would hurt a lot, for about 10 minutes my arm would be weak, then I would be fine.
Yup, didnt think of that, and with nothing being reported, gonna have to chalk it up to a misread in body language or a stinger.
