Just watched this... Pretty bad ***. Guessing in game footage not allowed? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4
Its actually not a players POV. They just mounted a facemask to the lens of a DSLR camera and walked in and out of the shots for this. Pretty cool idea!
How do you know it was a DSLR? Did you see it? When I first read your post, I thought "why wouldnt they just use a video camera?" but ya, using a smaller footprint of a DSLR and its secondary use as a HD camera would fit better in the helmet I suppose. And ya, it was cool as hell. Wake had me pumped up and ready play! I cant believe this guy with his unbelievable skills and as you saw in the video, great leadership went undrafted!
ya, but what was really tricky about it was that whoever was operating the camera had the team gloves on too when they were shifting the face mask and high fiving the fans.
At first I assumed it was just a GoPro mounted to a helmet but after watching... based on the stabilized shots and the depth of field, it was a DSLR (or similar camera) inside a helmet. No question about it, IMO.
Not really. He probably had a stabilization rig hooked up to the helmet... that camera is too steady for someone who doesn't know cinematography.
hmm, did anyone get a recording of the coin toss? We can see what rig this guy had cause they were standing right behind Hartline. GIK34 is right i'm guessing, but i'd like to see the rig.
There was another video floating around after the win on Sunday that showed the boys all amped up in the tunnel. You could see the guy holding the DSLR with the facemask attached to it. Pretty slick.
Its driving me crazy that i cant find the video... there was a warning that there was a bunch of cursing. Mike Pouncey was leading the chant while they were all jumping around.... it was neat to see the photgrapher getting right in the middle with his camera rig.
I am curious what model of DSLR they use... I'm sure the 5D Mark III or something to that effect. Those things shoot real nice stuff. Unless Ross opened his pockets and got them the Canon cinema cameras.
Some good friends of mine produced and directed the Tim Tebow doc that aired on ESPN a few years back. They were mostly using Canon 5D's back then and still to this day use them.
Wouldnt make a dent in the rich mans wallet. Are you a photographer? I was a photographer/videographer in the Navy for 10 years, now a DOD graphic artist but still use the ol photo skills ever now and again.
Commercial producer for an NBC Affiliate. I am a huge DSLR advocate though. I have two 7Ds and will likely get a 6D soon. I don't dabble in photography much though, mainly video.
HOLY **** I HAVE A STIFFY!!! Best: - - chanting in the pregame huddle - all the expletives bleeped out the second Incog goes in the middle of the chanting huddle - Bess smiling and hugging with Hart and Wake. Just can't NOT like Davone. Great guy. Good player. - Trusnik in the STs huddle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXvYEY7Qcyo
Yeah man the stuff these dudes do with them is redic! They just shot a bunch of cool promos for the TB Bucs. www.fctn.tv is the company.
Hmm. So that's what that was. Remember catching a glimpse of a camera mounted facemask during the telecast.
Only reason I thought it may of been a bench player or something.... Thanks Alex lol Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4
Lol, that was actually getting on my nerves. The face mask didn't need to be adjusted. Do it once for artistic value but it was pissing me off when his lil girl hands were grabbing the mask
Also, if it was a player how come during the coin toss he didn't shake any hands? Lol. But on these hd videos the colors of our new Uni's are beautiful.
Ya he looks like the type of guy you'd want watching your back in a bar fight. Or actually, he looks like the guy that probably started the bar fight.

I like how they tried to make it seem more realistic this time showing both of the hands with the gloves moving a bit more freely, obviously kimbos interview blew that, but still cool none the less
