IMO the comparison is pretty close. I don't care for the 4th quarter comebacks stat though b/c that relies on other factors the QB can't control. RT has a few more if Carp just makes some FGs. I really think the big difference in terms of national perception is the record. If RT had performed exactly the same, but Carp makes a couple of key kicks and bounce or two are different in either Miami games or even some games Miami didn't play in, then Miami wins 9 or 10 games and is a playoff team. Conversely, if Luck throws the exact same passes but opposing DBs hold on to a few more and Indy loses more games and Luck is not seen as promising as RT. IMO too often people's evaluation are colored by things outside of the QB's performance. In my evaluations I try hard to divorce myself from the outcome. Good and bad bounces happen, but you assume they'll even out over time. I try to focus on the decisions, the accuracy, etc. if a pass is a poor decision I'll downgrade my eval even if the outcome was a TD. And I'll upgrade my eval if the QB throws a perfect pass that just gets dropped.
Interesting but I'm still not sure it tells the whole story. Who the receivers were, how good was the blocking on the play? Down/Distance? How many intentional throw aways? I will say this, I don't see the same thing in Luck others do. I see a good but not great QB who also has good but not great athleticism.
Personally no. To add to this. I had a suck for Luck t-shirt and HATED Tannehill until about a week before the draft where I actually put in time to watch their tape and not eat out of the hand of the media. Luck is more polished at this point but IMO his ceiling isn't nearly as high.
Luck is a fantastic QB with a fantastic future and obviously as a franchise you would prefer Andrew, but I'm OK with our situation and RT.
The dumbest statement is Luck being in a Locker room by himself. Of the three top rookie QB's, he was third and his rating was extremely close to Tannehill's. So far, Wilson is still better than him IMO.
I had that draft as potentially the best QB draft ever. I liked all five. I was extremely confident about Luck and Tannehill. RG3 I thought had the highest upside, but also the greatest chance to retire early. Weedon and Wilson had some weaknesses to their games that made them greater risks, but still potentially good starters. Osweiller was the only early guy I didn't like.
Wow, Wake did not drink alcohol since 2005, or eat fried food. **** is impressive. He said Friday he has not consumed any alcohol or a single piece of fried food or even a taste of candy or ice cream since he left Penn State in 2005. That's more than eight years devoid of dietary decadance.
My thoughts on QB's and 4th quarter comebacks. Maybe if the QB that is making these 4th quarter comebacks played better in the first three quarters of the game he wouldnt need to make 4th quarter comebacks...
Meanwhile the Sanchize has a hot dog between quarters. But hey, Babe Ruth was as great as he is on hot dogs and beers.
