Wallace had a deep ball thrown to him. He was bumped off his route just enough that he couldn't get deep enough to reach the ball. Make that one catch and this would not even be mentioned. Doo Doo happens.

Tannehill is not inaccurate. He led the league last year in accuracy for balls over 20 yards. Led the league.

And his deep passes to Wallace fit that model. One was short, one was perfect. Based on what we've seen of Tanny's learning ability/work ethic, I'm sure he knows that was a perfect pass and will be getting a better feel for that range/play.

I don't understand the need to defend Mike Wallace even a little bit from Dolphin Fans.

What has he done as a Miami Dolphin besides ***** and moan 15 minutes into his tenure after every play he didn't get the ball? He's done nothing for my team to warrant any sort of defense. He has, so far, been nothing but a problem, and there's really no debating that.

This isn't Cam Wake here who has brought it on every play for the past 4 years. Spilled his guts on the field for this team. No, this is a guy, who hasn't done squat and needs to earn respect and fan defense.

I simply gave my believed motivation behind defending a player on a team you route for. Please, by all means, tell me the motivation for Dolphin fans defending Mike Wallace at this juncture in his tenure as a Dolphin player.

That's the thought that puzzles me. I cannot find one

    Because he's fast?
Because we gave him 60 million? That's even more reason to be pissed off at the BS he pulled this past week

When he starts catching balls, making an impact, and stops throwing his hands up every play he doesn't get the ball, then I'll feel the need to stick up for him. Act like a team player

It's not like he's a rookie and hasn't shown he can produce in the NFL. And I think his comments later showed he is a team player, and wants nothing but to win, and he knows he has the direct impact ability to change the scoreboard in a quick way. I don't believe he's on record saying he's mad he didn't get the ball more. It's a given, for every star playmaker, they want the ball. Nothing new. He (in my opinion) was mainly mad 'cuz he got shut down by Haden for the most part, and got interfered with and didn't get calls.

I have my own view and opinion, and nobody else, fan, critic, or otherwise can tell me who I should/shouldn't defend...everybody has their own criteria. I'll support him as a member of my favorite team until he starts doing T.O. type crap, then I'd have a reason to complain. This has all been blown the F up by the pathetic media that can't find anything significant to report on their own, and the fans who are looking for negatives to justify their gloomy opinion of the team and where they're headed. Really a non-issue that should be and was totally handled in the locker room.

Because the Miami Dolphins have an institutional philosophy of using #1s as decoys to get the lesser receivers open.

Wallace was shut down the entire game. His ego was hurt but Haden had him blanketed. And I agree, there are certain players on this team that has earned their stripes and Mike isn't one of them. Until he proves he is a team player I can care less what his opinion of the game plan/play book is. If Philbin says run streaks all game and be a decoy then you better be the best damn decoy with the money Ross is transferring to your bank every game check. In the end it's all about wins, not about how much catches and yards you had.

Anyways I expect him to have a 100 yard/1 TD game against Vontae. Vontae is a very good corner but he gets burned.

Have all the opinions you want, but this particular opinion you have is not based in a stitch of fact.

He has not been a problem since he's been here. He has not *****ed and moaned about anything. He's done plenty good for this football team already, from the positive hype of his signing to keeping Hartline and Gibson single covered.

Your anger is misplaced because its not based in reality.

Winging the ball deep just for the sake of trying to get a big play when it isn't there is the recipe for allowing a team to stay around. Wait no sorry...it's the recipe for letting them win.

There's two sides of the argument on this thread but in the end, when Wallace beats Vontae twice today deep and connects for 40+, we're all going to be happy about that.

This is going to be one scary offense if the O-line can put it together. And if not it will still be more feared as the season goes on.

We should already be more feared than last season. Leaps and bounds better even than at the end.

One thing is for sure, Tannehill has grown up a lot. He still has some key points to work on (feeling pressure mainly) but anyone who has doubts about the pick has an agenda.

Not just that... Tannehill has to do a better job in the pocket and start using his legs more. He was sacked 5 times and at least 2 were directly on him.

Thomas still sucks in blocking as well.

Doesn't mean he's good at it, he whiffed on a few today that got RT either sacked or pressured.

He's a very good blocker actually. Whiffing on that one block doesn't make him suck either. I will say I don't like him much as a runner, but he is a very good receiver/blocker.

He was one of the highest rated blockers at HB by PFF last season if I'm not mistaken.

And how about this: Mike Wallace's nine receptions were his most ever in a regular season game. He also had 9 in Super Bowl vs Packers

Didn't know that, when I watch him just seems I see a lot of mistakes. He usually looks good at blitz recognition but not so much the execution.

A very good blocker, really? I'll pay more attention to him in the backfield then. He had some decent runs this game, some of his usual arm tackle and slip downs, but he and Miller (mostly MIller) helped us get our first 100 yards rushing on the season.
