Carpenter who!?! I love this Sturgis kid! Great way to tie it up before half. Let's get our defense back on track and run the ball in the 2nd half. We need to keep Luck on the sideline for a nice 8 minute drive to start the half.
Seriously nobody wants to hear all the crybaby crap about "same year after year" BS...save it for your kids. 1 Half of football, tied game, in a game EVERYBODY thought would be tight, yet you'd think we're down 48-0...STFU already.
Love it. I mean, my palms got a little sweaty on the rekick. Imagine the pressure the player actually feels in that stadium.
At least the Fins' special teams is set for the foreseeable future. Sturgis was definitely worth the draft pick. Hell, he may be the best pick we made in the draft!
Am I the only one who doesn't think Hilton made a great play on that long pass? Grimes was reaching out forwards for the ball instead of going up for it like he should have. It was a pretty easy catch for any decent WR.
Man.. I tell u.. The crying is annoying as hell. Have some backbone guys. Huge drive at end of half there Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Caleb Sturgis cannot be iced. Caleb Sturgis is so cold he once froze an erupting volcano with his stare.
Defense does. I don't think we can ask more of the offense. They are doing a heck of a job. We are really missing Patterson out there. And what was this rumor about a weak Indy OL??
I know Ireland isn't a popular man but I think the Sturgis pick was a great one. How many games did Carpenter cost us? This kid kicked a FG while getting iced with a timeout. Lines up and kicks again like it's no big thing! That's big time!
Thank God we are getting something from the 5th round draft pick, because they aren't getting anything from their other draft picks at this stage of the season.
Well TY made a better play than Luck throwing that ball. Fouts was fondling himself over Luck having the confidence in his receiver to make that play. GTFO here.
I think it was a nice play by Hilton. Not a spectacular as Ian Eagle made it seem with his reaction. You're right though.. Grimes was just waiting for it to just drop into his breadbasket. All Hilton had to do was jump over him and take it away. Pretty simple when Grimes is going to be that passive on the play waiting for the ball. If Grimes attacks the ball there... different story.
I wasn't aware that you spoke for everyone, Bub. And the fact is, we had these guys on the ropes and we let them back in the game. I am damned tired of seeing us DO that. We need to have a smart enough game plan to keep our foot on the opponent's throat instead of backing off and letting them back in. I've seen it, year after year and I'd like to see us finally have the coaching and the talent to not do that anymore. Save your orders for people that are impressed by you. I'm not one of them.
Caleb Sturgis, ****ing beast. Dude made that 54 yarder look like a chip shot. - Olivier Vernon is getting cleaned the **** out against the run and doing nothing rushing the passer against one on one blocking. - Mike Sherman is annoying. - Lamar Miller looks good, but under used (see above) - Our defense needs to make a play.
Ya I'd like to see some mixture in the play calling...stay with the run more than 1 run...some misdirection...would help I think. Tanny and Luck are both over 100 QB rating, over 60% completions and have a TD each. Good duel going. The defense will make some adjustments and exploit in the 2nd half. I have faith in Coyle.
1) The Dline may be less aggressive as they are aware of Luck's ability to run 2) Sherman had more good calls than headscrathers. I disagree with a couple of calls though. The biggest one was our second last drive, on third and short, in a critical situation, and calling a new FB's number instead of the TE who has been with us all camp and preseason. Klutz (I don't care if that's spelled right. He's just lucky I am not calling him 'new guy') should not get the call there. Dion Sims has taken two backside passes like that for five to ten yards (one for a TD, one for almost a TD). Why reinvent the wheel here? Sims gets you that first down. Instead we try running the same pattern with a new player, from a different spot. Result, no first down. No points. That's on Sherman not using his players in ways that maximize the chance of success.
