"Epic" fail may be an exaggeration. Though I don't have an issue with what Jordan said either. At a certain point, we may want to be less harsh with posters with whom we disagree just to create an environment where actual sharing of opinions is attractive to posters. We want people talking.
MEH. But it won't matter because they are going to beat the colts and Luck will be limping badly in the 3rd while Irsay franticly texts the team.
Oh great. Wake insulted all RB's by implying that they can't block him. Vick Ballard, Bradshaw and any RB they play for the rest of the season has bulletin board material.
Except I will save him, like this, before you get us...
Before we can say that Wake gave all RBs bulletin board material...we must first establish something else. Can a mere mortal man BE insulted by an immortal god?
Non-issue in the biggest manner possible. I mean, it ain't like he said, "Luck? Oh ya...I'm gonna rape his dog, slap his momma, and eat his favorite ice cream out his freezer!" THAT would be trash talk...What Jordan did was express a fact, and a desire to continue that fact. If Luck needs that to get motivated, he doesn't belong in the NFL.
What are you doing, man??!?! You're just giving the knee-jerk reactionists more bulletin board material!
Dion smells his first sack. Who better ? Luck is going to be a nemesis of ours for the next 10+ years as well. Whats with all the negativity on the boards ? Has the local media poisoned us that badly ? "Wooosaaaa" I sense a 2-0 road start with a chance to get on a fast track to the playoffs baby !
Now that I think of it, it would have been hilarious if Tonto ran out to the Lone Ranger and the horse had trampled him to death and the Lone Ranger had just kept riding into the distance.
Ya, what he said was not bad. I get that. I'm just very much like Incognito in that I dislike rookies and believe they should be seen and not heard.
I am going to take a page from most NFL players and blame the media... most of us read the rest of Dion's quote: “You could tell the difference between him and a lot of other quarterbacks,” Jordan said. “He controlled the things that went on, as far as the offense. He made big plays. You were able to tell he had a bright future ahead of him." All of the media outlets that picked up the story used the "I never lost to Andrew Luck..." in the headline, and some of them completely dismissed the complimentary quote altogether. Also should be noted that both Luck and Coach Pagano were complimentary of Jordan. Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/09/12/3620680/miami-dolphins-dion-jordan-familiar.html#storylink=cpy
Hell, I wish he had actually said more. All he did was state the truth. ... And this isn't some idiot rookie WR or RB talking real smack. What Jordan said is fine. Expresses confidence and should help him elevate his play by doing so.
If you are or have been a pro player, then that makes sense. If not, then you and all us fans are lower than rookies, cause at least they play.
It isnt that I think of myself above him or anything, i'm just a fan (and a big fan of Jordan as well). I just think certain things should be earned. The right to talk to the media for example should be earned IMHO. I have never been a pro player, but I think just about everyone has been "the new guy" at one point in our lives. And as the new guy it is usually a good idea to watch and learn first. Have you ever had that new guy come in at work and act like he knows everything and keeps saying crap like "well the way we did it at my last job is"? Ya well, that guy sucks and should be kicked in the nuts daily.
Is he allowed to talk about his college days? I mean he already played there at a high level and proved himself enough to be the 3rd pick....
Not gonna make a separate thread for it, but Jordan looked pretty foolish on that play that should have been a sack on Luck. He just shoved him and gave up. Hopefully he learns from it.
He did... rookie mistake that he will not make again. He could probably get away with that shove against any QB other than Luck or Rothliesburger, but you can bet he'll wrap and take them down next time.
He's a rookie who made a rookie mistake, I'm not gonna blast him for it unless he does it again. Instead, i'd rather focus on the fact he was in position for the second weekend in a row to make a sack in limited time as a rookie.
Even Wake struggled to bring him down. Jordan was in the right place. That's what we're looking for. He's just gotta finish.
Does anyone have a video of that. I don't recall that play. Saw Luck escape Wake's sack and I saw him get hit square by Wheeler just after he threw it.
No need to defend him. He made a bad play and will probably never repeat that mistake. In the end though, he was at least in position to make that play.
Ya it was lame...I wonder if his shoulder is hindering him at all, 'cuz that was a sad attempt at a sack.
