How we don't have naytrolls coming on board and saying oh Parcells is too old, and he sucks, he's past it etc. You know like we usually get........isn't that interesting.
He is past it and too old ... To coach Im all for him as GM or in his current role though. The guy knows talent and hes got a history of success in building projects such as us. Glad to have him aboard, though if he names himself coach I will be very uneasy.
Well we talked about it for a little bit and that was it. Not to many concerns there. We know your team is still a couple years out. Also we know his track record of walking away from every organization he has been with
If he leaves us better than when he came, then Ill wave as hes running out the door. The guy restored talent to several untalented, struggling franchises. He sees it as his mission to do the same to the Phins. If he doesnt want to stick around and watch us win the SB in a few years thats his call.
I know I know he is a talent god for a team HE is coaching. How about a team another coach is coaching. Not to mention he did say that the GM will have ALL personnel Decisions. I cannot see that great of an impact from this. I need to see his dealings once he takes over to say if he will help a ton or just draw a paycheck
[mod]Please comment only on the subject, not the poster.[/mod]I don't care what he or anyone else says. The man has an ego the size of Tokyo. He's not going to let someone else sully his legacy.
Ok well if this is the case Man I am sure there will be a ton of GMs and Coaches lining up at the door saying PLEASE let me be a Puppet
Well, the upside is they know Parcells won't be around forever. Why would a guy like Ireland stay in Dallas, where he knows he will *never* have the final say over Jerry Jones, instead of coming to Miami where he knows he'll be the guy with all the power once Parcells inevitably leaves. And I'm not saying Parcells won't consult, etc. with his GM and coach. But implying that he is going to let them draft whomever they want and stay out of their hair is beyond comical.
Listen he has said in his ESPN interview that the GM would have the final say in all personnel decisions, and he would not over-rule him. So if he wants player x but the gm wants player Y than based off his word the pick is player Y
as already stated, Parcells is an egomaniac. He's saying that hes not gonna trump the GM, but thats a lie. No player will be signed, drafted, cut, restructured, or traded without Parcell's say. It's kind of like a parent saying they'll give their child freedom, but they have to know where they are, what there doing, and who their with. Whoever our GM is, he better be ready to be told no on just about every idea he has, cause if Bill doesnt like it, its not gonna happen.
OK well if that is the case What GM and Coach would want to come there to have Daddy overlooking their shoulders. In essense nothing more than a Puppet
I already answered that. Read. Randy Mueller left ESPN to be Nick Saban's puppet. Pioli seems to enjoy being Belichick's puppet. Ditto Heckert Jr. in Philly.
I disagree... I believe the GM will have most of the power during say free agency and say the gm wants a player that isnt a big name such as a special teams player or a depth player, then Parcells will let him scout out the lesser important players and sifn them. When it comes down to a starter in FA or tje draft, parcells will let the gm maybe scout out a bunch of players at each position but if it comes down to player A or player B and we can only have one of them with parcells wanting player A then you better believe that player A is going to be on this team.
