Load iTunes, plug your iPhone to your PC, and on the iPhone menu in iTunes, click update.

Thanks. For some reason it kept saying, "no update available", but it finally found it.

Well, my iPad downloaded the update really quickly, but the iPhone says 19 hours remaining. Nine. Teen. Hours. Ugh.

So far I'm not overly impressed with IOS7.

Well, my phone updated overnight. My two biggest problems so far: the slide-up Control Center is really finicky, and I'm not sure but what the voice recognition has degraded a bit. I'm on a 4S.

Whoops. I had to re-enable Siri in Settings, so that may have been the trouble.

I think I've changed my mind overnight. I'm starting to get used to it now, and like some of the shortcuts. Although it does seem like my battery isn't lasting as long, but I'm not too worried since I'll be changing to the 5S tomorrow.

iOS 7 will fire itself up and refresh in the background according to your use habits. So if you like using it a lot in the morning, it refreshes in the morning to make sure you're looking at new info. You can turn it off in settings if you want.

They've also added some new location features (frequently visited locations) that you might want to disable as well.

Not allowed to upgrade since my iPhone has work email and programs on it that aren't totally compatible.

Yes you do. Open the Music app. The first time you open the Music app on iOS 7 it tells you that iTunes Radio is available and which button to tap to get to it.

It's also available in the latest version of iTunes on the desktop, 11.1.

    Same concept, free streaming music.

Difference is, you have more control over the content.

Better IMO because I have iTunes Match, 25$ a year, well worth it IMO. And I don't get ads. It's more then that. I can access my music anywhere I want from any device. Clear all my music on my computer and put only the music I want without losing it. Regardless of what phone you like, apple and music works better then anyone else

Yep. However, since it's linked to iTunes, you can immediately purchase songs you like. Not sure if Pandora does that -- it's been so long since I've used it.

What if I turn my celler off on apps?

Like why would I need it on for my app sore or settings?

Like I have unlimited data but when I upgrade it's gone. I want to start getting couscous about my data. Why do games use celler data? How can I save on data I use.

Why would you lose your unlimited data by upgrading? I've had unlimited data w/ AT&T for years and never lost that when I upgraded phones each year.

Ugh, my phone updated this morning, and half the apps on my home screen disappeared. Is the only way to regularly access them to go to the app store, or to hit the home button twice and scroll until I find what I want?

This happens because Apple adds new stock icons to the first page, and to preserve your app layout as best as possible, they push everything else back one page.

Just connect to iTunes and mass drag everything back. Takes 30 seconds.

My iphone 5 is fine, but my iPad 3's battery drains three times faster than it did before iOS 7. I have turned off everything suggested on posts regarding battery problems on various sites, and it still drains very fast. Anyone else experiencing this?

Right off the bat, thanks for answering!

I turned off everything that these two articles say I should turn off to save battery power:

    http://ios.wonderhowto.com/how-to/s...pdating-ios-7-ipad-iphone-ipod-touch-0148680/

    http://www.imore.com/how-fix-battery-life-issues-ios-7

I'm going around without cellular (Wifi only), am constantly hard-quitting apps, turned off location services, automatic updates, what have you per these articles, then did a reset.

Hard quitting apps is unnecessary unless they implicitly stay on in the background, like streaming or VOIP apps.

Disabling location services is silly too. Just disable individual aspects of it, like syncing time with a cell tower.

I would try a battery calibration to see if your iPad is actually reporting the correct percentage of juice remaining. Plug it in and charge it to 100%, leaving it plugged in and charging for 2 hours after. Then unplug it and use it until the battery drains to 0 and it turns off. Then plug of back in and let it charge to 100% in one session, without unplugging, only restarting it once (hold home + sleep buttons until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears). That will re calibrate the way iOS reads your battery level, and we'll actually see if you have a battery life issue or a battery read issue.

Because turning off the amount of stuff you turned off means you shouldn't be using any background apps at all.

Desides (LOL autocorrect changed that to despises.....yep some times) gave you some great advice. I don't have much to add other than I also have the IPad3, but have had no issues whatsoever after installing IOS7. It actually seems to run faster to me, and battery life has pretty much been the same as IOS6 so far as I can tell.
