It is unfortunate with the timing for next gen GTA. The reality is that there is so far only minor additions to the PC code, some weather effects like Blizzards. After playing a good amount of time in LA Noire, I have noticed that they drastically cut back in the facial animation technology they used several years back in LAN. I am guessing it is because there is just a whole hell of a lot more going on in the game world than in LAN, so they had to make sacrifices. My hope is that with next gen tech, not only will that be a staple for their games but they should be able to advance that even more beyond what we have seen already. That said. After using this console for so many years now, I am very impressed with their aesthetics for this aging generation. Albeit, I was impressed with Red Dead as well a few years back, but to me everything seems to have culminated into this one package, and the combination of the things they learned from the DLC in GTA4 along with just an awesome job by their Voice crew once again....this is easily my favorite GTA, besting Vice City & San Andreas because they just seemed to have paid more attention to what we want to see. More fluid combat, some innovative gameplay, and retaining their classic dark satire.
As someone who hasn't played gta since the 2nd one, why should I be so excited about this game? P.s. I already bought it
I also don't know what Desides is referring to when he talks about pop-ins. Can someone fill me in? So far I'm loving this game. Rockstar seems to have fixed all the obnoxious crap not just about GTAIV, but also about Red Dead Redemption that I didn't like. The phone calls to boy it out. Unsatisfying side quests. Random missions that horribly interfere with you trying to get stuff done. The random events in GTAV haven't bothered me at all, and when I do choose to engage in them they are usually pretty fun. My only gripe so far is aiming and shooting while driving is a real problem. It's not an intuitive or comfortable button pushing process.
Pop-in is when the game can't render the world fast enough to keep up with the player's actions. For example, if you're driving really fast and transition from one area to another, the game needs to predict and load the assets to populate the area ahead of you—cars, pedestrians, trash cans, hedges, signs, etc. Pop-in is when those elements suddenly appear out of thin air. This is partially a side-effect of the very slow read disc read speeds on the 360 and PS3.
I'm on the same boat for the most part. I played a few hours of 4 and then got busy, never went back. The biggest thing you'll notice is the world. It's HUGE and detailed. It feels "lived in" (something I thought 4 did well too). Tons of details, interactions, much more variety, more destinations, things spontaneously happen, it doesn't need you to be a catalyst the whole time. Controls are tighter, driving is better, shooting is better. Biggest thing IMO is character development. I loved the mood of 2 (I'm assuming we're taking previous gen...vice city, and not back to the origins of the series), but I couldn't begin to remember the main characters name or any of the story line. Characters are much deeper now, they have a lot more thing driving them, and the story developed better than 3, and vice city.
Ahhhh, I see. Haven't noticed that yet. But now that you mention it I'm sure it will bug the hell out of me so thanks a lot jerk. Ignorance is bliss...
52% through Spoiler Just finished the mission where Trevor and Franklin drop off the 5 stolen cars to Devin. The prop car is awesome.
Spoiler that was the only time i was able to steal a jumbo jet and fly it around with no wanted stars.
http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/grand-theft-auto-v-garage-bug-causing-cars-170530151.html Thought it was just me. I've dropped thousands upgrading a couple of whips only to have them disappear. Hope they fix this **** soon.
I've been reading about this game and some tips online. One thing I'd like to share, is try to save all the assassination missions until after you have completed the game. You may have to complete the 1st assassination mission to progress, but after that just leave the rest for later. The point being, you will have more cash on hand to use for investing with your "inside info" gained from the assassination missions.
Thanks, I was looking for rivals of the jewelry store (first heist) on the stock market to buy low and then eventually sell high, but couldn't find any. So this doesn't really matter until the assassination missions come into play?
I don't know what else may or may not affect the stock market in the game, but I know the assassination missions definately do, and I think only the first one is required to be able to complete the game. Save the rest of the missions for after the game is complete, so you can have more cash on hand to invest with.
I just finished the main story. Dont worry about investing in the stock market too much. Play the game and enjoy it. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Finished the story as well. Not mission related, but tennis, golf, and parachuting are all really fun.
Tried that last night and broke a wing off, ended up dying. Has anyone tried stealing the fighter jet from the millitary base yet?
Not yet but I did steal the jumbo jet. Try running under the wheels and pressing y. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
So your game came with 2 discs(unless your downloaded a digital copy)? Y is the "enter the vehicle" button, right?
As Trevor, purchase the hanger on the northern part of the map. It brings about 5k-7k return a week(I could be way off, I dont remember the exact number), plus you get to do smuggling missions with either a plane or an off road buggy for cash, as often as you want(paying you $7000 for doing it with the plane, and I think $5,000 with the buggy).
In order to buy the country club you have to be a savy investor... That's the only way you 100% and I don't see it happening for me..
Pay attention to what lester says during the assassination missions. He tells you what to buy. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Go on the internet on your phone and go to the stock exchange. Theres two. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Anybody else not getting money from Smoke on the Water? Or is there a way to collect the money that I haven't figured out yet?
