Having suffered through the false dawns of Saban and Sparano. Having had my soul squeezed by Wannstadt's "just do enough to not quite lose" Dolphins. Please just win big and dominate. I will be disappointed with another close win. That will create a false impression of who we are. If we are legitimately a 3-0 team worthy of respect please win and win big. Good teams dominate their opponents. Lucky teams can fluke a few 50-50 decisions going their way (I'm looking at you Saban and Sparano) to make the playoffs. Real contenders dominate, I know we're talking different eras but once the 72/73 dolphins got 10+ points up you knew their opponent was never coming back. Be that style of team. If you want to prove that you are are legitimate threat win by more than 14. Less than that I will and I will not be convinced. Win by less than 7 and I will think that but for 2 plays we could have been 1-2 not 3-0. It has been a long time since the 'phins have been a legitimate contender. If you are worthy of that title you will win big in your home opener regardless of who your opponent is.
A big win would be nice, but a one point win means the same thing. If you look at the Cleveland game, it was not a close game...at all. We match up well to Atlanta, so I suspect this WILL be a close game. It's also just not in our staff's design to go out and blow people out...we just aren't a) that kind of team and b) quite ready maturity-wise as a team for that kind of a win, especially against a quality opponent... So be happy if we come out of Hotlanta with a W, no matter how it comes....
Atlanta is a good team. You don't need to dominate them to be a real contender. Any victory is good. We beat the one team we should have beat comfortably by two scores so I'm happy with things at the moment.
Atlanta should have been a Super Bowl team last year, they were absolutely killing San Francisco until they choked badly in the second half. They have been a great regular season team for awhile now though, it's going to be a tough game, it would be amazing if we destroyed them but any win against them is a really nice win. Sure if it was our home opener against the Jets or Bills I would agree I'd be a little annoyed though, even still a win is a win FINS UP
With all due respect, this is crazy! The Dolphins have been mediocre for a very long time. Subsequently they haven't been relevant in a long time. They've rebuilt and are finally off to a good start with what looks like an answer at QB. And yet that isn't enough? Nor is it enough to win against the top teams? You have to DOMINATE the top teams? Really? What happened in Seattle last Monday night is the exception, not the rule. Ask yourself, when was the last time the Super Bowl was a blowout? 2002? When Gruden basically coached against his other team? Fundamentally, when two teams are very good, we should expect a close game, not a blowout. Atlanta has been on top for a very long time. A win, no matter how it comes, would represent a big step forward for this franchise. Two straight wins against playoff teams? I'll take it. What you hope to see is a clean game, good play from your stars and resiliency. Basically proof that you belong at the grown ups table. - sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 beta -
Quiet you. This is your fault. If you could hold your liquor.... we would have not doubt of dominating. In fact, I think you should drink TWO opponent drinks. If you hold one down we win. If you hold down TWO we dominate.
