RT @AdamSchefter: Cleveland fielding offers for and open to trading WRs Josh Gordon and Greg Little. At least one team has made a quality offer for Gordon.

The new CEO is not a fan...

RT @caplannfl: On #Browns WR Josh Gordon, he's been on the trade block for several weeks, source said. Banner wants him out, very clear, source said.

I think we put in a bid for him when he came out in the supplemental draft. Hartline and a 5th? or if they just want picks then offer a 3rd.

We don't need him, now if a RG came on the block we'd have to kick the tires.

Speaking of which, Danny Watkins has been on my mind lately, has anyone heard any reports about him in practices?

I would not give up Hartline for him. I would offer a 3rd though.

So you want us to give up a solid #2 and a 5th for a talented yet unproven WR.

is this a joke? for one, we aren't trading hartline, get rid of that idea now. 2. we most likely aren't trading for Gordon. There's a reason they want him gone

I think I know why you hate Ireland now. Your philosophies are completely different. One philosophy is insane and the other is Jeff Ireland's.

I hate trading draft picks, and left tackle might be a slightly overrated position, but I just looked up Joe Thomas' contract status. He is signed for 6 more years at an average of @ 9 million per. The contract takes him from 28 -34 years old. I would be tempted to trade a 1st and maybe Clabo for him. That anchor at LT, The Weirdo at RT, Pouncey and Incognito is a pretty good OL.I doubt Lombardi would trade him, but Big Joe is an All Pro level player, signed to an expensive (but reasonable), contract through his prime. At the very least it is something we should inquire about.

I'm not the biggest Ireland fan in the world - although I may be slowly coming around - but even he wouldn't trade Hartline AND a 5th for Josh f***ing Gordon.

He had one solid year in the league. But he could suck the rest of his career. So yes he is unproven.

I would take Gordon over Hartline going forward without question...it's not even close really. I think he is a special talent, can't say the same for Hartline. If we had Gordon we probably wouldn't have given Wallace 60 million.

I'm not a fan of Hartline at the money he's making, but to place him below Josh Gordon is just insanity.

With what Hartline brings as a route runner, and his ability to work the sidelines, and his reliable hands, he's a pretty perfect fit opposite Wallace, and with Gibson in the slot as shown against Cleveland. There's no way we move him. That's a good thing also.

The Browns are building for the future and are willing to trade a talented 22 yr old receiver. What does that tell you about Gordon?

I can see Gordon going to NE for maybe a 6th. At least there, he'll finally have a good QB to help him. Really, in Cleveland, he's had garage QB's.

Is this thread a joke? Can't really be serious, Hartline and Tannehill have chemistry that I wouldn't give up right now for Gordon unless he was the second coming of Larry Fitzgerald. Right now we need help on the OL, WR not so much.

I think it would be crazy for Miami to trade Hartline for Josh Gordon. But I don't think it would be crazy for Miami to give up a later round pick for him. He would absolutely be an upgrade over Brandon Gibson.

I would absolutely phone them up and explore their price tag. If it's lowered from the 2nd round pick they gave to get Gordon then I would pull the trigger.

What intrigues me so much about Gordon is the possibility of using him in the slot in Joe Philbin's offense, where Brandon Gibson has been playing. The Dolphins use their slot receiver on a lot of verticals in order to hold the safety in place, which allows the outside receiver to that side more freedom from fear of double teams. And if the safety does not choose to guard the hash, the Dolphins throw to the slot receiver up the seam. That's why they like bigger targets there.

Josh Gordon has the size they liked on Armon Binns when they had him working in the slot, except he's more athletic and a bigger playmaker. Last year he ran 60 routes from the slot and produced 12 catches for 271 yards and 2 TDs off that small amount of work. The yards per route on that is ludicrous at a 4.5 yard average.

I'm genuinely surprised that everyone in this thread seems to be immediately dismissive of the idea to the point of making fun of anyone who treats the possibility seriously.

Agreed. I'm very intrigued at the possibility of a Josh Gordan deal. at the right price and only the right price. Given his red flags, I would say he's a worth a 4th and no more.

I'm more interested in Joe Hayden and would love to know his availability...

Exactly, if anything phinsational's stat heavy thread shows Hartline is most LIKELY to have a huge year for us as his rapport with Tannehill grows even more.

This would make trading him for Gordon make -0- sense.

You want an offense to grow holistically, not spasmodically, once THill gains that experience and success then you can change out parts.

Actually THIS is the most compelling reason to trade for him.

If New England has him, our chances of winning the division decrease.

If we have him, I think we still win the division. Hell, trade for him, then trade him again to a team of our choosing, just to avoid NE getting him.
