We win this game by pressuring Matt Ryan. Check this article out: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/07/18/qb-pressure-profiles-nfc-south/ With Baker injured, this comes into play more. Some stats for how Ryan handles pressure ALL CAREER SNAPS Dropback 3043 Comp% 62.96% Yds/Att 7.1 TD 136 INT 67 Sack% 4% Knockdown% 12.5% PFF Grade 131 QB Rating 90.5 ALL SNAPS WITH NO PRESSURE Dropback 2177 Comp% 67.91% Yds/Att 7.6 TD 109 INT 44 Sack% 0% Knockdown% 0% PFF Grade 141.9 QB Rating 99.1 ALL SNAPS VERSUS PRESSURE Dropback 866 Comp% 48.32% Yds/Att 5.7 TD 27 INT 23 Sack% 14.1% Knockdown% 43.9% PFF Grade -10.9 QB Rating 65.2 Looking at those, it's clear he is drastically affected by pressure (like Weeden, though he is much better than Weeden without pressure). But it goes deeper, look at how he fares when that pressure comes over the Left Tackle: ALL SNAPS PRESSURED FROM LEFT TACKLE POSITION Dropback 170 Comp% 51.09% Yds/Att 6.0 TD 4 INT 6 Sack% 14.1% Knockdown% 34.7% PFF Grade -12.7 QB Rating 61.2 Now, since Wake is more effective from the Left Defensive End position, I am hoping we keep him there, where he will see great success against Trueblood, whom he ragdolled previously. But this is really the week where Dion Jordan could have a MASSIVE coming out party against second year player Lamar Holmes (Baker's backup), especially with Wake flushing Matty towards Dion. If we manage to pressure Matt Ryan consistently from that LT spot, we win this game.
What are his grades this season with pressure? I think we should temper enthusiasm. Wake was very weak against the Colts.
"Trent dilfer @TDESPN - Matt Ryan has been blitzed on 34 dropbacks and is making defenses pay. League best 12.5 YPA with 2TD/0 INT - Dont blitz a #QBSurgeon"

Baker being out probably helps the Falcons. 1 sack, 6 hits and 9 QB hurries (and your worried about our OL BPK? :P) Lamar Holmes isn't much better especially being thrown to the left. He's put up 1/3/8 this season. Their guards are solid though. Combined both guards have given up 1/1/4 with their center giving up 0/0/4. So it looks like if our blitzes up the gut aren't working early....the team should overload blitz from outside the tackles.
Or if our staff scouts at least as well as a guy with a laptop and PFF stats, they can plan to attack the tackles right from the get go! So ong as they don't establish an inside running game on us with Soliai out... that's my greatest concern vs their offense, aside from their WRs destroying our depleted secondary. Man, this game has a lot of factors.
Well just because a team hasn't penetrated there doesn't mean give up on it. Just could mean the first two teams weren't good at interior pressure. I'd like to see if we can be successful there because nothing makes a QB crap his pants more then rushers coming straight in front of him.
I agree with Bpk, with Soliai out, our pressure up the middle, as well as run D is weakened. I don't think he gets the credit from fans as to his value in this D. The perimeter rushing would be the answer if Odrick and Starks can hold the interior, but that is their strength along the OL. I think Odrick and Starks makes this a different style D than Soliai and Odrick/Starks...
Hard to get any pressure when the quarterback is releasing the ball in two seconds and constant no huddle. With that said wouldn't shock me if the Falcons do the same to slow down our pass rush.
That's the same thing I was thinking. Our DBs are going to have quick pressure...I can see Willie D having a topsy-turvy day.
I think Orick and Starks starting is a better pass rushing tandem than having Soliai in the game, and with Jackson out and Rogers the principle RB, up the gut running isn't going to hurt us. The Dolphin offense needs to go deep early and often and make those safeties very concerned about our WR's deep and Clay down the deep middle. That will open things up for Brandon Gibson who's success could be the hidden key to this game. Consistent 5-10 yd gains from him could result in a whole lot of points.
Contrary to maybe everyone, I think Lamar Miller's success on the edges is what wins us this game on offense. No Kroy or Sean on their D. Must exploit that in the ground. Then punish them off playaction as the Safeties creep up.
Have to agree Soliai being out, while still a bad thing, isn't a death knell for the DL. Starks has more sacks and QB pressures first 2 games I believe. Our DL has given up avg. 4.6 YPC I believe, so Odrick/Starks should be interesting to watch. Based on the stats in OP this could be the game we see Dion Jordan step up his game, get some decent pressure on Ryan from the left. This also means Falcons likely put their TE or extra blocker on the left, and I expect if that happens we see a big day from Wake. Atlanta knows their weaknesses and our strengths on D, so this may come down to the LB's and CB's stopping the quick slant and Gonzales down the seam.
