None of that "huddle stuff" was as big as the fact that the game winning play was Ryan's idea and the coaches allowed it. I've been telling everyone, he is the QB we've been waiting for and Philbin is the coach that will make it happen.
This kid says all of the right things, but more importantly he's doing all of the right things. I think we have something special here. We have all pro veterans and Super Bowl winning coaches buying into this being Tannehill's team. Time for me to order than #17 jersey!
I'm not posting as much because life is getting in the way of being here. But what a game by our franchise QB. I'm jumping out out for skin and crying tears of joy. Lets do this tannehill! Keep it up!
No one has better handle on the heart of the Fins than Jeff Darlington. This post-game tweet from him says it all: I'd say we're "lucky" as fans to have a kid like RT as the future of organization; but the truth is, after over a decade of torture, it's what I believe we've earned. Enjoy the ride.
Help or not, Fiedler was good that year up until he got hurt. He gets hurt and we were never the same team. I don't want to get into a Fiedler debate but he was good for us during his time here
Caretaker and nothing more. By the way I do believe we are now #1 in the league for TD scoring % in the red zone.
Comparing Fiedler to Tannehill in any way is a travesty. Wannstedt wasted a good team holding on to that idiot and downplaying the position of QB in the NFL. It made me literally Ill to see Wanny back on our sidelines during the Tampa Bay preseason game. Can we leave out ALL the failed QB's following Marino up to now and just enjoy the fact that we have a QB with real talent for the first time in a very long time?
2 things... The kid got hung out to dry by his OL all game and got beat up yet still kept his composure and confidence to lead that final high pressure drive. Secondly, the fact that Tannehill decided to audible to another play and that the coaches had the confidence to allow him to do so for the final TD speaks volumes.
Well, let's be precise. He didn't audible. He was going to run the play Sherman called, the Falcons took time out, and Tannehill ran his idea by Sherman during the time out. That's not an audible at the line.
As bad as we were playing yesterday, we never let it get away from us. Then starting the final drive, someone flipped the switch and it was textbook to finish the game. Quite amazing to say the least.
never compared Fiedler and Tannehill, just pointed out that the last dolphin QB to start 3-0 was Fiedler, which was a long time ago and like 15 QBs ago
You mean, touch lobs? Yeah. Henne tries to put a laser through the defender that the receiver can somehow catch from 9 yards away.
Yep, his arm was so strong all he could toss was fastballs, no changeups. Reason why I think Henne can still be a good Qb is a Qb can learn to take some steam off of a pass Feidler, fwiw, was also our last Qb to toss 20 Td's, THill is on pace to easily top that mark.
