Tim Ryan, who did the color during the Falcons game went on Sirius NFL radio and said the Dolphins are going to get blown out in New Orleans. I thought his color analysis during the game last week was awful.

Well its a good thing we won the first 3 in a row and will have a winning record on the road even if we lose this game. Being at least 2-1 at this point would have been good, 3-0 is obviously the best we could do if we are 3-1 after facing 3 playoff teams and Cleveland I'll take that. The Saints are playing really well and their defense is playing 10times as good as last year if we can hang with them we are a good team, honestly they look like the team to beat in the NFC to me.

Some love Tim Ryan. I'm not one of those people.
Loved when he had to cave in that Falcons game.
Tannehill proved him wrong. Easy to see what this is about.

I bet there is more than 10,000 Fins fans at the superdome at least. We're always repping on the road.

Lol at trying to stir up a controversy when there is none. Ryan has done nothing wrong.

He clearly saw my video and agrees with my liver.

If the Buccaneers were able to keep it competitive then we should be able to as well. I just don't think we can win if our offense continues to be slow and inconsistent. If Philbin is saving/hiding something from everyone, this is the game you let the offense go loose. We can not play Time of Possession football (Sparano football) and expect to win. The Saints defense is very underrated and Brees can score in less than 2 minutes, not to mention our defense has injuries in some key areas.

I don't see us being that type of team till we get improvement at tight end and running back. Whether it's within (Sims, Miller), or next offseason. Still think we can take the division but not sure we do much in the playoffs against more talented teams.

Still so depressed about Keller. Oy.

  17. Why wouldn't I be serious?

All 3 wins have been by the skin of their teeth. None of these personalities is going to put their rep on a line for a team has not been relevant for over a decade until they not only prove they can win but do it convincingly.

    Example

If we do to the Saints what the Colts did to the 9ers you will see a shift in attitudes.

Disagree. Namely because I don't think Philbin has a super secret offense he's waiting to unleash.

I think, like every week, the offense will be tailored to the opposing team's defense. If our staff determines this defense is susceptible to the read option for example, we'll run that. If they're susceptible to the running game, then we'll go with that.

But, if we did have a secret offense that we're waiting for the right time to use, then I'd hope we'd be saving it for the Pats, an infinitely more important opponent.

My wife and I will be catching a flight to New Orleans later this afternoon to attend the game on Monday night. I have to admit I think this will be a very difficult game for the Dolphins to win, but we will be there to root them on, win or lose. With the injuries on defense, I just don't know if the Dolphins defense will be able to handle Drew Brees and the Saints offense.

I just hope the Dolphins give a great effort and that they won't get blown out as Tim Ryan seems to think they will. Since he works for Fox and basically works NFC games, perhaps he has an NFC bias. I guess we will all know if he is right or not in a couple of days. Going into the season, if you had told me that the Dolphins would be 3-1 after their first four games, I would have taken that in a heartbeat. Now that they are already 3-0, I'll admit that I'm greedy and really want to see them get to 4-0.

We haven't been to New Orleans for over twenty years, so I'm looking forward to seeing the city and getting in at least one round of golf before we head back to Miami next Tuesday afternoon. I just hope the Dolphins make the trip to New Orleans a wonderful week-end experience by beating the Saints.

NO ONE wants to take this team seriously at this point.... its true they will have to go the extra mile to shake that "stigma", because they are still generally perceived as a mediocre team, lucky to be 3-0.

That said, I still prefer the headlines like this one. We should contemplate forfeiting the Mon. nighter to the Saints, me thinks. Why Try?!

Tim Ryan has no shot a being a good nfl player, thats why he is a 3rd team analyst

    ok shot over

seriously, games are played on the field not on a radio show or internet site. opinions are what they are, opinions

The fins have played just well enough to win against three decent opponents. They have not won in convincing fashion yet. Even in the Cleveland game, we left points on the field. The team has improved from last season. Tanny is better, his receivers are better. The problem is we really haven't wowed any of our opponents. The offense, arguably has been sporadic although it's gotten the job done. The D, after Cleveland has been very suspect.

Couple those things with a team that is, right now, firing on all cylinders both offensively and defensively and his prediction isn't exactly earth shattering news. Now, IF this team finally puts it all together against the Aints, then we can beat them, but we haven't really seen them put it all together just yet...I think that's where Ryan is coming from. However, I will say that he's certainly biased against us, based on his calling of the Falcons game...

As you can guess, I don't think we will beat them either. I can only hope that we play them tough and don't pull a Fins (circa 2007-2010) routine and let them blow us out...

I don't think Philbin has some super secret offense either. What I think we could see is a lot of four minute offense like we ran on the game winning drive last Sunday. The offense was fast and really in rhythm. This is what I'd like to see throughout much of the game Monday.

I think it is fair to predict New Orleans, in fact if I had to bet I would probably bet on them. But to say we have "no chance", and will get "blown out", is just an expression of frustration from the man who was wrong last week on our team. I am sure he thought the same thing about Atlanta, but just didn't say it. A guy with a grounded ego, unlike this JA, would say "I expect New Orleans to win this game, homefield advantage on MNF, and a high octane offense will be too much to overcome, but you never know with Miami, I didn't think they would beat Altanta"...

Define "convincing"....because to me....when you beat Andrew Luck for the first time in his career in a game decided by less than 7 points. Thats convincing. When you beat said Lucks team who went to the playoffs last year, IN Indianapolis.....thats convincing. When you're losing and being beat the entire game to a team that out of 16 games last year, they won 13 !!!!!! Who came within a touch down of representing the entire NFC in the super bowl.......who when we were down and out....our 2nd year qb led us 75 yards, ate up the entire 5 minute clock and gave Matt Ryan no chance at a comeback by leaving only :38 seconds when we hammer the nail through the coffin so far it shattered the Ice that completes "Matty Ice's" name!

THATS CONVINCING!!! How many other teams would crumble in those situations?! How many past Dolphin teams kick a FG, lose, turn it over, punt etc!?!?

We are 3-0.....2 of those games on the road, 2 against playoff teams, and one against perennially one of the best teams in the entire league. All this with our own injuries, (if someone told you before the Atlanta game we'd lose Cam Wake the first series and win, would you of believed them?!)....with a slow start to our running game, etc.....

I am convinced this Miami Dolphins team is playoff bound.

Ryan prides himself on being a guy who watches the film and only deals in what he sees, not what others are saying.

Guy's a clown, but not because of this prediction. It's because he's the exact opposite of what he tries to sell himself as.

Fifth team, actually. He and Chris Myers are FOX's #5 announcing team, out of 7.

I disagree completely. People are taking this team seriously. but no one is going to pick us to win in new Orleans on Monday night. outside of Seattle and Denver, I doubt they would pick any other team in the NFL to go into the same situation and pull out a win either. and even those two would probably be split.

    Couple things here.

One, for Tim Ryan - until recently, he was part of what I consider the best NFL show on radio, teamed up with Pat Kirwan on Sirrius NFL. I always enjoyed those two both for their knowledge (especially Pat), and personality (mostly Tim). Tim is a very opinionated guy, and is not always right, but is always entertaining. He had it particularly out for Jonathan Martin - practically poo-pooing me one time when I called during the preseason asking if he thought Martin had surprised him a bit. I thought Ryan's performance during the Falcons game was up and down. At times, he was degrading the Dolphins, but he also gave them some props at times - even complimenting Martin on Thomas' TD I believe. With this Saints prediction, Ryan is just being Ryan essentially.

As for our defense's performance this year, while they've been gashed at times, they have been rocks in the red zone most of the time, and have come up big in the big moments (the opposite of those old Zach/JT/Surtain/Madison defenses). Exhibit A - the end of the Colts game, stopping Mr. "9 amazing comebacks in my young career" at the end. Then, against the Falcons - the Falcons got one TD when they gashed us on the first drive, then another after Tanny's fumble opened the second half with a very short field. Other than that, four stops, which lead to three field goals, and a big miss right before Tanny's game-winning drive. This D - especially w/ the injuries - may not be great (although I think they can be), but they sure know how to show up in the big moments! I'll take it!

I like Tim Ryan, I think he and Mayock are two of the best color guys in the business if you're strictly into X's and O's.

Obviously he's exaggerating when he says we have no chance but even as a Miami fan it's difficult for me to "see" a path to victory vs Nawlins. It's gonna take something out of the ordinary IMO. Like Brees having an off night with multiple picks, Miami's running game suddenly springing to life, Tannehill having a career day, Thigpen housing a return or two, etc.

Having said that I don't buy Nawlins being a better team than us, at all. IMO it's more about them playing at home on Monday night, us having 3 wins already in the bag, and most importantly the slew of injuries wer'e dealing with. Wake and Soliai are the two defenders we couldn't afford to lose and we lost both. All 3 starting LBs missed snaps vs ATL for injury reasons and Trusnik seems to be the 4th LB, Sproles and/or Graham will eat him alive. We're still down at least two CB (Davis and Patterson). Taylor seems to be a go this week but he's a rook and he's been "healthy" three or four times now, I want to see him ball for two weeks straight before I declare him back in action. Clemons is dinged up, so are Wallace, Pouncey and Tannehill, Vaughn Martin is out for the year along with Keller and Binns. I can't remember having this many guys nicked this early in the season.

Once we're healthy we'll be fine and we'll mop the floor with overrated, one-dimensional teams like Nawlins but they're catching us at the perfect time this week.

If that happens (blow out the Saints), they will mostly say, that we got lucky, cause I cannot see them saying that we are not only SB contenders, but maybe winning the whole thing at the end...

and we will never hear the media admitting anything like that this year...

    How so?

Dolphins held the Colts to 20 points, only allowing 3 in the second half. This is the same Colt's offense that went on the road and ripped up San Fran's D to the tune of 27 points.

Atlanta scored 23 points. 7 of which were gift wrapped after recovering a fumble inside the redzone and a bogus pass INT on 3rd down that put the ball on the 1. Not to mention no Soliai, which killed the run D and no Wake, which killed the consistent pressure. While this was the worst defensive performance of the season in terms of yards allowed, I think they played pretty well given the circumstances and their opponents talent level.

Dolphins D is still dominate in the redzone. And makes terrific second half adjustments.
