Right because you know the cheaters have picked up on it. Maybe have some blowhard like Salegaro even write a story about it.

Dont like it. Why tip your hand at all. Some smart LB is gonna call it out to his D and crash down on us...

Hell, maybe thats part of why its been hard to run.

Like when Madden let you guess at the snap and commit to run or pass.

Yes but it's not a biggy because the stare downs are good pre snap reads. He is doing well.

I don't know what they're doing with the snap count. There were also a quite a few shotgun plays where Pouncey snapped the ball a full second after the 1st "Go".

That was a pretty amazing statement by Watt considering the Dolphins were using a silent count because of the noise.

Meh... they're just keeping it simple for DThomas. "Go! Go!" is shorthand for run 2 yards and fall forward. :shifty:

How exactly would it be used against us? They wouldn't know the routes, the drop, the hole, nothing really. Not enough time to change coverages or personnel.

A pass rusher could go all out and we could account for it with protection or just hit a dump off to his contain area. A linebacker could stay home but he still doesn't know the routes or holes. There is no conceivable way it could help an opponent.

"Go" is more distinctive to the ears than your traditional "hut", especially through crowd noise. It may also have psychological effects as well ! I dont remember ever starting off with so few false starts !

As far as it tipping off the plays.... like said, its not nearly as easy to key in on than we might think.
Even Better, if a defense tried to react off it.... there's probably a plan to make it totally backfire on them.

Very interesting stuff, we'll have to see if this is more than a trend.

You hear Peyton and Eli always yelling "hurry, hurry" almost every snap.
You hear a few QB's yell "Omaha" a lot.

But why does Tanny always yell "Blue 88" everytime?

I also noticed it vs. Falcons, but I only noticed him using it when the play clock was down to 2-3 seconds and thought it was an emphasis to beat the clock. Thoughts?

This continues to be a real thing. I noticed it all game long. "Go! Go!" is ALWAYS a run, and "Go!" is ALWAYS a pass. This is mind boggling. Even on the QB draws in an empty backfield it was "Go! Go!"

This is astonishing to me. How does Ryan Tannehill not realize this? Someone smarter than me needs to explain this to me.

One of the "go go" signals was a pass. It took me by surprise, because I was just telling my wife about how one would always be a run and the other would always be a pass.

Must have been one of the few I wasn't looking for it, but still, am I wrong thinking this is kind of a problem? How would play action, for instance, ever work if the defense picks up on it?

What if he does "go go" on play actions? The one pass I noticed was PA.

He has been doing it since last season. Not sure why but even on the one designed QB run today it was "GO GO".

Wouldn't know? HTF could he not know? It's on the damn tapes. He does watch them. Right? If other teams and players, including ROOKIE DBs, can pick out our tendencies, surely a career coordinator and HC can.

Really down on Philbin right now. Those answers are BS. I hope he is lying to deflect any extra negativity towards his OC, but to say he "wouldn't know" is NOT the answer you give disgruntled fans and media. It's his fooking job to know AND to be concerned about any and everything with this team.

I'd lighten up the anger until you know the exact question asked.

Think about it, if he was asked:

    - "Do you vary the snap count?".....and he gave that answer then its a ridiculous answer.

    But, if he was asked:

    - "Are teams anticipating your snap count?"...then his answer is not infuriating at all.

    I read the article.

You'll notice they didn't actually supply the question that was asked. It was a paraphrase of a question. That's why I say again, until you know the actual question asked, I wouldn't get too upset. For all we know the question was, "Are other teams picking up on Ryan Tannehill shouting “go” right before a passing play or “go-go” before a running play?"

This is what the media does nowadays. Its sensationalism. Do you honestly think that the very detail oriented offensive minded coach who pours over tape, has no idea what the snap count being used is?
