EA and CLC settled with the class of former players suing for use of thier likenesses without permission or compensation. Undisclosed settlement amount, but it's going to be a BIG number. Upwards of 300,000 former players, and EA's attorney still said each claimant would receive something "substantive." EA announced, in connection with the settlement, they are leaving the NCAA football game business (at least for the time being). http://espn.go.com/c...e-football-game
Those lawsuits are a big effing deal. I sort of wish someone would sue EA to force them out of the NFL game business. Talk about a product that needs competition…
It's the NFL that should be sued in that instance then, not EA. As to the OP, the players only get like $320 per players.
EA was part of the same suit the former players brought against the NCAA. But my wish for EA to get sued to get them away from the NFL license is emotional, not rational. I don't actually want that to happen, I'm just saying it would be fun. What should happen is that the NFL should stop the exclusivity. But they care more about the money they get from the license than the quality of the end product.
So that means BC, BC2, BF2142, BF2, BF3, and BF4 are all internal EA games by the DICE studio. I don't like EA at all, but this counts.
