Hm. Wilson's groin concerns me if he ends up in the slot covering anyone. That could be bad. I thought Clemons was Probable. Guessing all four of those are gametime decisions. Really hope big Paul plays some limited run down snaps. For the Saints, I want Evans and Lelito to sit this one out.
On a side note.. I think these are the sorts of games where you see big special teams returns. With so many banged up players, a lot of depth guys who also play STs are being called upon to rotate into the game on Defense and Offense more. I think that tires them out and you see sloppier kick and punt coverage in the second half of these types of games. Looking for a third quarter punt or kick return for a TD by Thigpen.
Roman Harper will be missed. He stinks, so I assume his backup is even worse. Their other Safety is a rookie.
Whyyyy not so smug? http://www.neworleanssaints.com/new...ins-game/3ca0f0ad-a4d3-4324-a83d-86bb72713811
Yeah, it's different. The official active/inactive report and the injury report. No one is being smug, dude.
There was nothing smug about it. It was an honest question. When will we find out the actual declared inactives for the game?
I think he meant 'smaug' which is a word from a Middle-Earthen language denoting a dragon-like nature. So it was a compliment.
KFFL is very on point with putting that list out ASAP and their Patriots-Falcons lists came out Sun, 29 Sep 2013 16:07:42 -0700 (PST) So about an hour and half before kickoff, I believe.
For the most part although in Paul Soliai's case I think questionable is closer to doubtful. When it comes to the official injury report, IMO there's really no such thing as "Doubtful" and "Probable" anymore. They were once upon a time supposed to be defined roughly as a 25% chance of a guy playing and a 75% chance of him playing, but that's total BS. The NFL actually makes inquiries when a doubtful player plays or a probable player doesn't. It's frowned upon for a doubtful player to end up playing or a probable player to end up sitting. The only real mystery on the injury report pertains to the players that are listed as questionable. And nowadays even most of those guys end up playing. I think the exception is going to be Soliai. I don't think he'll play.
Here's some stats from 2012 courtesy of Pro Football Reference, Excel and way too much time on my hands: 89% of all players listed as "probable" were active. 62% of all players listed as "questionable" were active. 20% of all players listed as "doubtful" were active. (numbers rounded) The Redkins take the Probable Cake with 97.14% of probable players being ready for action (the Packers are dead last on that list with 75%). Both the Bills and the Vikings win the Questionable Race at 75% (Saints: 36%). I won't award a Doubful Cup as the totals are too small, but 12 teams were around the 25% mark (give or take 8-10%) while 9 teams didn't have a single doubtful player active. Miami numbers: 94%, 71% and 25%.
Bombshell tweet from Jeff Darlington: Jeff Darlington ✔ @JeffDarlington I'm told Paul Soliai and Cameron Wake are both looking good for tonight. Specifically on Soliai, source says, "Paul is 100 percent a go."
Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero It looks great for Solia to play. Wake needs to work out well to play but he normally does. Everyone waiting
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley Wake just huddled with decision-makers, then walked a way, ripping his hood over his head. Not exactly promising.
ON ESPN they were just showing Wake on the field with the coaching staff and trainers discussing his situation for the night... Wakes reaction made it seem like they decided he wasnt going to play to me... Who knows. Time will tell.

The decision to draft Jordan is getting better and better every week now. At least now, we still have somebody to pressure the QB off the edge with Wake out.
