Come on everyone. I know we lost on MNF in horrific fashion, and the offensive line looked like a sieve, and the secondary covered fantastically, and we really need to not shoot ourselves in the foot with the turnovers, but:

    We're 3-1 after 4 games
There's 12 games left to go
    Saints are a good team
Wake will be back in the lineup
Austin looked like he's got some get up
    Clay looks good
    Tanny had some nice passes
    Hartline played alright
    Gibson looked good
Soliai had a few impact plays
    Odrick, too

    Etc

I know there's more, and I believe teams and fanbases learn more about themselves with losses than with wins. I'm not feeling too bad about 3-1, and we lost to a quality opponent.

The biggest positive from this game is that it is finally over and we don't have to watch it.

Oh and there will be plenty of opportunities to learn from mistakes from everybody!

It's a learning experience for the young guys for sure. You're not gonna beat team that has had 7 years of experience within their system with a young team.

Positives for me is that Tannehill can't possibly play an uglier game the rest of the season... unless he throws 5 INT's like Flacco.. pretty much the only positive I take out of this.

    No injuries.

And the Ravens are a game we should win at home...

Into the bye at 4-1 - I will take it.

The Positive we can take from the game in my opinion was the success we had running the ball(Minus Thomas). The O Line seemed to actually get push, something they haven't done much of the entire season. I hate that we had to go away from it due to getting blown out, but Miller looked like what I expected from him which is explosion and he ran hard

How is it a positive from this game that we are 3-1? We were 3-0. We are worse off after this game than we were before this game, so how is that a positive?

just think how much of a learning experience it will be if we lose next week and are 3-2. me, i would rather be young, dumb and stupid and 4-1 then wise, learned and 3-2

It was an ugly game but I don't think anyone expected Brees and the Saints to not show up ready to play. There were too many mistakes and you can't give a good team like the Saints that many opportunities. The most we can hope from this game is that our team learned some lessons.

Big positive is it's only one loss. It was a bad one, but it's just one.

The big negative is I fear it exposed some weaknesses that other teams could try to exploit.

And I say that because many of the weaknesses that broke the dam tonight were ones that had underpinned our previous victories, and we never got them fixed, and our opponents never really drove the wedge in on those weaknesses the way the Saints did. Now there's blood in the water, so the Dolphins will have to adapt or lose.

We looked like a young team, in primetime, in one of the hardest places to play. Saints look like the NFC champs and they are too much for us. I don't think there is any shame in saying that right now. This game, unfortunately, played out exactly like we thought it would.

Positives? Clay keeps making plays. It's really great to see him performing. Lamar miller looked good. Thiopental had a huge play. Cannot believe he got caught

Other teams don't have what the saints have tho. Dallas Clark doesn't make either of those tds that jimmy graham made against us tonight. I'd like to see the ravens try it.

    Positives for me?

I thought Dion Jordan and Jared Odrick played pretty well. I thought Soliai, even though not 100% played well. I thought offensively we had it going until the half. Especially early, we were well balanced but then seemed to forget we could run when we wanted to. With Ryan in the pistol, we really seemed to have the element of surprise but then inexplicably got away from that. Clay and Gibson continue to impress. That's about it... the rest of us were crap... even Fields and Sturgis were off tonight...

I think CK's pretty spot on. There are clearly things Miami's not done well all season, even in games they've won, that will get further exploited now. For instance, they don't stop edge runs well; they don't cover the flats well - they don't cover RBs well in general; they don't stop the run as well, though they were better tonight than they have been all season; their blitzes have been pretty easy to read the past two weeks; they don't pass-protect well; they abandon the run quickly if they get behind, etc.

There is no big secret that they can't stop TEs. I think CK is talking about the screen game.

I just think we didn't get to 3 wins by teams not being efficient enough in attacking our weaknesses. That's really short changing the things we have done well. Redzone offense and defense... and third down efficiency and winning the turnover battle. Not making stupid mistakes. All of those things we had done well prior to this game, we failed at tonight. I'm not saying the weaknesses aren't there... they are clearly, but they can be masked if we execute properly ourselves. I think if you try to defend against your weaknesses too much you evoke a failing mentality and forget how to win. Not every team we play this season will be as good at ripping us apart, exposing those weaknesses, as the Saints.

There are actually a lot of positives mixed in with a lot of the negatives.

Rather than get detailed (because I need to get to sleep) I'll just say we need to remember that the caliber of opponent affects
    your play too....

    Saints, at home, Monday night.

We simply aren;t their level yet.

But for a young team to experience what it's like to play a team of that level in their home environment is invaluable experience.

By next year, I expect us to win that game.

All that may be true but we are 3-1 with home games vs two teams we match up very well with coming up, sandwiched around a much needed bye week.

And TBH what I saw tonight was guys in position to make plays and not making them as well as Saints players making plays when they had opportunities.

Greer had a shot at a pick and he made the play. Carroll had a shot and he gave up a TD. Wallace had a bomb go right thru his hands. Tanne fumbles to kill a drive. I have no idea why Sherm calls outside zone on 3rd and two inches. Philbin decides to punt on 4th and a foot. 3rd and 19 we drop 8 but can't rally in time to stop a screen. Taylor is in good position but Graham makes a great catch. Gotta give credit to the Saints, they have NFL players too.

Overall I see us going to New England at 5-1 and even the most optimistic fan should be happy w that.

Meh. In terms of evaluating Tannehill's performance... he really only had 1 poor decision INT on the quick slant. The other one Wallace stopped running his route and there was a lucky *** tip drill from the ground... and the other was on that last drive of the game where he got hit while throwing.

Question... why was Dion Jordan at LDE for most of his snaps? He did well in his RDE snaps... but didn't look comfortable at LDE. If you're going to bring him along slowly... keep him at 1 position.

We got schooled by one of the best teams, if not the best team in the league. The Saints are a legit Superbowl team, we are a young team trying to establish itself. Losing the game wasn't particularly shocking but I would have liked to see us give the Saints a lot more of a game. Too many mistakes. I knew it was over when we gave up that 3rd and 20 to Sproles, I mean obviously he was getting the ball on that play to get punked like that on that play was just a sign that we weren't ready for them. We are a good team that played a stinker on the road, it happens, I still think we can win 9 or 10 games and have a good shot at the playoffs.

Can we talk about how Tannehill has 18 interceptions and 15 fumbles through his first 20 games as a pro, and the fact that those problems only seem to be exacerbated this season? Or are we still finding reasons to blame everyone but the QB for the poor play of the QB like we've been trying to do for the past decade?

anyone who really thought we had better than a 10-25% chance of walking into New Orleans on our young QBs first Monday Night Football game and coming away with a victory was fooling themselves. Just be realistic, if you would have said 3-2 at the bye before the season started, we all would have jumped right on that. We have a really good chance of being 4-1 at the bye which no one thought was possible a month ago. So there is your silver lining for the week. Everyone put down the razor blades.

If "learning from mistakes" is the goal, we're Golden. We'll be able to learn for three seasons from this fiasco.

To me, after seeing how ill prepared the players were and how poorly they executed, now we have to start considering if we have the right coaching staff in place. Not saying we should start a movement to Fire Philbin or Coyle or Sherman...but we have to pay attention to it. This was an inexcusable performance.
