I think its asinine to attack the poster who says things are wrong with the team (even if the poster is a jackass! ), when the coaches themselves say the team's performance was substandard. Whether its just coaching, tweaking, or replacing players, substandard performances need to be thoroughly evaluated. Or like Phillyphan says, a change will be needed throughout the entire operation. We should deal with ideas, not personalities, in this or any forum.
maybe some folks say asinine things to those who say illogical asinine things about their team, not saying that's you cause I'm not familiar with your history before the season but I heard a lot of BS stupid criticisms about a team that had yet to take the field, I've also heard some doozies about a 3 and 1 team who were running up and down the field on the saints in their park before a couple of poor turnovers fu&$ed the whole mental part of the game up...
"Asking questions"....................... and declaring the team isnt ready for the next step because they got whooped on MNF in the Superdome, are two entirely different things. Some of the best teams in the game have gone into Nawlins and got their asses whooped. We actually faired as well, or better than all the contenders going in there for primetime over the past few years. So this is more about over-reaction, and jumping to conclusions.
No doubt. People often times (most times, here) take on the poster vs the post. We are all Fins fans, but some cannot handle even the most objective criticism. Its ridiculous, but true.
If it makes you feel better to say "other teams played horribly sometimes too" is one thing. But to deny that we were horrible on Monday night is ludicrous.
Has anyone even denied that though ? We were outmatched and didn't help ourselves either. I don't think the patriots, packers, ravens, giants, and steelers fans were proclaiming their team wasn't ready to win a big game after their *** whoopings. They didn't enjoy it either, but 1 game is 1 game. I still recall playing the browns, colts, and falcons awfully tough, and am ecstatic with the teams start.
Ridiculous huh..ok man..doubt I could find anything you said in the preseason or during our 3 and 0 to 3 and 1 start that would be considered ridiculous by the majority..
Wait, what did I say? lol I'm only calling for the firing of Jeff Ireland, not the whole team. I don't know why that sparks such vehement recrimination amongst some people, I emphasize some. There is a perception amongst some people that you can't be overly agitated about a predominantly mediocre decade of football, a sizable portion under the stewardship of the current GM, who has been scathingly critiqued by both national and local writers I might add, it's not just a drunk fan who insist Jeff 'Fire Himself'. Many say you can't call an administration a failure until the end of the administration, thus if he is the GM for 7 more years without a SuperBowl appearance, we can't call him a failure until his final day at the office. In that case you just have to agree to disagree with that poster, because you're entitled to be MAD everyday (even at your own peril) at the GM, organization until the Lombardi Trophy comes home. The best way to shut up those Negative Nancies is to shove a Super Bowl ring down their throat, otherwise they have a right to be negative until said time. But for the record, I love the defense, Love it, love it, love it. The Offense isn't built for this new passing league, the team is not going to win shootouts. Just Jeff is my biggest issue with the team.
Objective criticism would require giving the team props after they win games (or even if they don't), at least once in awhile. This is something you have yet to do.
it's threads like this that rather let me stay away after losses for some days....you realize that RT is completing 65 % percent of this passes, he has 3 picks that were tipped by a defender or should have been caught by the receiver, sure he has to many fumbles...our defense was top 3 in 3rd down defense before the saints game....again the inability to give the other teams players credit...we played the saints...offensive firepower all over the place
Do you realize that great teams have gone to New Orleans on Monday nite and gotten blown out? And went on to have incredible seasons? When you get behind in that place, with that kind of intense crowd on top of you, the liklihood of most of your young team being able to handle it for four quarters is very minimal..mental mistakes will come, just remember in the first half, when it was man on man, hype in full mode, this team dominated both sides of the LOS.. Don't sweat the game, and don't act like you knew everything would transpire this way after a loss at that stadium..
If you want to take joy in the Steelers and Giants record, thats fine. If you want to compare yourself to their fan base, even better. I couldn't care any less about the Steelers, Giants, Ravens, etc or their fans. I only care about one team. And I care about them NOT playing like they did Monday night. But you are building a straw man...Ive never said you couldn't/shouldn't take solace in other teams miseries. I just dont do it.
I don't pay attention to who or who did not say we were horrible. I just know I am being taken to task for stating something even the coaches admitted. Its personal. I get it. It is what it is.
I know the other night he fumbled after a long run, threw an INT in the final two minutes of the half, and threw behind is WRs several times. He leads the league in fumbles. Which one of these is due to their offensive fire power?
And then you disappeared... Came back made dumb comments like Grimes is a chump and disappeared until now. Look we all realize that you lack perspective after loses, but do we all have to suffer?
So, if I give kudos then I can't be critical of players that are chumps? LOL. I understand that you are going to be one who can't be objective. I won't suffer through that. If you don't like my posts, or if they cause you to suffer, then by all means, don't read them. Several of your fellow "see no evil" comrades have said they are putting me on "ignore". I take them at their word. I hope they do. The ignore button is to be used precisely by those who cannot stand to read opinions different from their own. Use it; I implore you.
I don't think this team is years away. I think it's a year away provided Tannehill keeps doing what he's doing and we finally solidify the OL. Think about where this team could be with just those two pluses? You add 1-2 offensive linemen, and the guy you already have simply continues to improve. Could that happen in a single offseason? Hell we don't even have to wait until next year to potentially see (more) growth in Tannehill. I think they can absolutely contend for the playoffs this year. But to be an elite team? I'm waiting for next season.
I think we underestimate "elite". Brees is elite. Brady. Peyton. Those guys make their teams instant contenders. Is it possible Tannehill could make a decent playoff run this or next year? Sure, but he's at least serval years away from anything beyond that, as is this team overall. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk now Free
I just don't feel it's that far out if reach. Key things have to go our way, but not that many. Is the Saints defense better than ours? I don't feel they are. I think Brees would similarly carve up them up. Special teams? We're pretty darn good there too. They've got a few more pieces on offense (specifically Brees) and they're very well coached. Is John Fox this visionary head coach? He's good, but Manning is the franchise. Maybe it'll take Ryan years. Maybe it won't. Maybe he doesn't have it in him. We'll see! - sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 beta -
You keep throwing around the word "objective" to describe your comments and the way you conduct yourself. You're not. No one here has any issue with anyone expressing an opposing opinion on the team, the FO, the coaches, or specific players. What people take issue with the manner in which you do it. The negative hyperbole, the knee jerk reactions, the ridicule, etc... is when people take issue with you. Stop acting like you're only expressing an opposing opinion. You're not. And everyone here sees what our weaknesses are without the BS. When you start "objectively" making comments fairly in both the games we win and lose, the positives as well as the negatives, and cut out the over the top hyperbole and ridicule, people will respect your opinions. As it is, you're baiting people with your comments and conduct to needlessly create animosity.
Oh snap, I must have missed that, likely from the fact that you were probably freaking out in the respective game thread at the time.

How can you deny someone their RIGHT to be fanatically angry. There is no need for objectivity. The team hasn't won in 28 years, let him be frustrated. This is his outlet, since players and owners don't care about what fans think about their inability to win. He is after all, a fan. Keep on fightin' the good fight ST.
Bringing up whats happened outside of recent history is inherently hyperbolic. The team of 2013 is in no way associated with the team from 2005. Thats just ridiculous.
He is the one claiming to be "objective", which is a false claim and he is attempting to use to justify his actions and antagonistic comments. As for most of your reply - once again, you're moving the goal posts to suite your own agenda...
I'm starting to think PhillyPhin is Junior Galette. Galette went to Temple, which is a school in Philly. Just sayin'.
I agree with one part of your comment...the animosity shown by many here is absolutely needless. And its silly.
Since you challenge my objectivity, Cuchulainn, I ask you...Did we suck Monday night or not? I think we did. The coaches think we did. I imagine, many of the players after watching film either thought they did, or found out they did from the coaches. It was horrible. Its not me making it up. Its not me adding negatives. We sucked...and if you cannot admit that, you are not objective. Every other fan of every other team I've talked to about the game agreed with me. THAT is objectivity.
Yeah, I mean he shouldn't even be on the team or in the NFL as anything other than a 3rd or 4th RB playing special teams so...yeah I don't like him getting 4 carries. He's a bust the coaching staff and front office are just being stubborn.
The coaching staff has no incentive to care if he's a bust or not and be stubborn about it, he was around before they were. If they really thought he was as awful and useless as so many people here seem to think, they would simply make him inactive in favor of Gillislee and Thigpen.
I agree to a point, but you should stop acting like you don't share some fault here as well by being overly negative and drawing the animosity with your rants. You were previously banned from certain threads and reprimanded by the moderators for a reason.
No one has denied that that we had a bad game, particularly on offense. No one has said anything different. What they have attempted to do is put it in proper perspective of facing the Saints at home on MNF. Show me one person on here that denied we played a bad game.
