I think there might have been a little misconception in my opening post and after re-reading it, I think I can see why as I didn't address the O-line at all.

Back in the days of Sparano and Henne I frequently posted of the importance of the offensive line and the running game, which was often countered with the anti-Henne posts and how everything was quarterback, quarterback, quarterback. The offensive line is the cornerstone of the offense, period. We have zero running game because we have no offensive line that can block, but with that said, even with our anemic offensive line last year, Reggie Bush was still able to rush for over 1000 yards last season, hence my adamantly stating we need a SOLID running back.

Tannehill is a good quarterback. He's no Marino nor any of the QB studs playing today, but he's good enough to win games...provided he has a running game to take the pressure off of him. We don't have that running game and we're becoming one dimensional which is going to end up causing Tannehill to be the next Henne. Defenses are going to be patient and start picking him apart if we don't get a viable running threat.

Interesting thread. Makes me think about several things. First of all does anybody think it is odd that we now have an offense and a roster with no Full Back? It would seem a full back just might help our running game some. Even though Clay is versatile I just don't think he fits the fullback mold and he is not capable of being an effective full back.
My second thought is, I can remember when the team philosophy regarding offensive line changed and they decided the big lumbering offensive lines weren't effective. It wasn't what they wanted anymore and they wanted to go with smaller more agile offensive lines? It may have nothing to do with our offensive line woes but its just curious to me?
Another thought is, are they discouraging Tannehill from running trying to protect him? If it is its not working because he is getting killed anyway by poor offensive line play?

I think Reggie Bush did not get enough credit in his time here, I'd watch games and his first move is in the backfield to avoid a defender.

However, now I've stated that the way our offense is supposed to work, the pass sets up the run, THill has shown he can burn defenses with the pass, that should loosen things up at the LoS.

I also think just having him going out for a pass opens up even more on the offense. I really did not understand the lack of interest from the Dolphins. They didn't even try to lowball him.

Our offensive philosophy doesn't allow for that I guess.

The good news. Miller was in for 45 of 59 snaps on Sunday. The bad, he only touched the ball 7 times.

come on guys we had two pro bowl runningbacks but we let them go .

We need to focus on the lame play calling and the oline and then the secondary so if we fix the offense we will be more of a threat .

we should of kept full back Polite and Ronnie Brown so we could have more weapons think about this .

Lousalka Polite and Ronnie in a two back set .

Lamar Miller lined up as a wr decoy or I would take Adrian Peterson in a trade .
