Crazy to say, but thisgame vs Buffalo is a must win game for the Fins, for all sorts of reasons. First, the standings are giong to be severly stacked against us if we lose. The Pats are getting better. They withstood their injury decimation and now seem primed to break out, esp once Gronkowski gets back. Imagine the fanbase if we lose to Buffalo and their P/S QB. The wheels will have come off and it would be a brutal time to be associated with this team. The good news is for the Fins...all we need to do is win our games, one at a time.
I wouldn't necessarily say a "must win", but it would make life easier. The fan base will def. be in uproar if they came down hear and beat us. If the o-line can show they are rested and ready to push forward, we'll be good. Plus this will be what, the second game we'll be actually favored to win...
Well don't look for Mike Wallace being a big part of the game plan since he didn't whine about not getting the ball this past week... That said we should win, so long as: 1- Offensive Line =/= Turnstiles at Disney World 2- Receivers Hands =/= Rocks 3- Run game =/= Lamar Miller getting 10 or fewer carries 4- Defense =/= a recovery ward
The only place the fan base shows up is in these forums it seems. I will be there this week, hope we have a crowd to support the team!
Yes on the first part, not so much the 2nd part. Water makes things wet, it's a property that comes from being covered or splashed with water. Not sure you can prove that water is itself wet.
Is water a "thing"? If so, water makes itself wet. Or look at like this, if water didn't make water wet, then water is hydrophobic and couldn't make anything wet.
I happen to agree but I`m sure you`ll catch some heat by some posters here who only sense a "must-win" as a game that knocks you out of the playoffs. We`ve been down this road before so prepare yourself. Coming off a bye-week, at home, against a divisional opponent who seems somewhat competitive but average at best with QB issues,...YES, its a must win for many reasons. And, I`ll be somewhat concerned if we need late game heroics to pull this one out. We should win this game convincingly.
Of course its a must win. It's a home divisional game after the bye week and we're coming off 2 losses. And the team that's coming in is starting yet another random QB. A true playoff team shouldn't lose this kind of game. Yes they have a good run game and their D will dominate our O-Line (like every other team has), but it doesn't matter. No a loss wouldn't totally end any wild card playoff hopes (though put a little dent in them), but it would kiss the already slim chance at the division goodbye most likely.
You really dont believe its a "must win" for possible divisional title purposes? Or a "must win" for wildcard implications down the road ? Or, for that matter a "must win" for team confidence and league respect ? I sure do on all these accounts.
Exactly. If we haven't fixed our issues over the past two weeks enough to win this game, then I won't feel very confident about our ability to win the necessary games going forward to make the playoffs. The result of this game will say a lot about our coaching staff, and the true ability of the players they are coaching.
Right, if we go 3-3, we can then, potentially finish 13-3. However, the likelihood of that is beyond remote. This game says a lot about our ability to win the future games that will be necessary to be a playoff team.
Since we're splitting hairs a bit here, I see this as a "need to win" game as opposed to a "must win" game. Must win, to me, signifies you have no other alternatives left.
it would have to be in ice form in a freezer, otherwise there will always be a microlayer of water on the surface to nullify the concept of getting wet and to FinD's comment: does sand make itself sandy? it's the concept that getting covered in sand makes one sandy. the sand on the beach isn't sandy, it's the beach that is sandy because it's covered in sand.
Especially considering how easily that 3-3 could turn to 3-4 the next week if we're not careful. At worst, I want to be 4-3 after the first Pats game so we can enter the more manageable section of our schedule (though it still won't be easy) above .500.
By that logic both all grains of sand are sandy and no grains of sand are sandy due to them all being grain x.
but now you're talking about a sand particle (or sand grain), not necessarily sand itself. "sand" (to me) is more of a general term, like dirt, rocks and water. if you go down to the molecular level of individual particles then maybe your argument carries some weight, but in the macro sense, I'm not buying it.
All grains of sand are not Grain X, but yes all grains of sand covered by other grains of sand are sandy.
Except we are now talking about what given words mean to you personally (by your admission). That means the validity of the statements "water is wet" and "sand is sandy" are subjective and therefore true enough on an internet forum.
Well, looks like those colts were " clearly not ready for prime time" Silly to be talking about Must - win right now, unless your winless. I'm not ready to throw in the towel if we lose, like some seem to be anxious to do.
Maybe not a Must Win game, but a very important game just the same. A great deal has been said about us being through the toughest part of our schedule, what does it say if we lose to one of the weakest teams and the first team in the soft part of our schedule? What does it say that we lose two straight games at home, so much for home field advantage? What does it say us losing our first division game? We have had a horrible stretch for our Offensive Line, will they be able to eliminate sacks or at least reduce them after having a bye week to address problems? Will this be a breakout game for our running backs, or will they even have an impact. Saying that this is not a must win game is just ignoring the obvious, and that is that it is a very important game regardless how you look at it.
Agreed, this is the type of game we must win if we are going to be a good team. Can't lose three in a row, with the last game being the injured Bills. If that happens, my early season hopes of being a top 5-6 team are out the window.
If someone came up to you and said, "This grain of sand is sandy," you are telling me you wouldn't want to have that guy commited?
