Jeff Darlington said the Phins had exploratory discussions about a trade for a running back over the bye week. Nothing is imminent, trade could go down in the next couple of weeks.

I hope it's someone who can break tackles.

This keeps up, pretty soon we'll also be trading for a new QB, one way or another.

well, even a decent replacement for Daniel Thomas would be great. problem is you always get ripped off trading for someone mid-season. At least we didn't overpay for that schlub Trent Richardson

Miller falls down with a touch and Thomas is mediocre .Yes I would say we need a power RB who can block .Its too bad it took this long to figure that one out.

Maybe after reviewing things over the bye, they determined that more blame goes on the RBs than we have been assigning?

I'm totally cool with throwing a mid-rounder at Jax for MJD...

Beat me to it. He's the most likely RB to be traded...

The obvious choice but I wonder how high his price is.

MJD does seem to make sense. I saw he was tied to rumors with Jets too. certainly an upgrade over Thomas.
I wouldn't pay more than a 4th for the guy. He's averaging 2.9 yards per carry.

It's just amazing to me how bad Ireland has been with running backs.

Trading up for Daniel Thomas, the **** was that?
Trades for Reggie Bush, turns out great, doesn't sign re-sign him and now we're looking for a running back. OK.
Draft Mike Gillislee, the guy can't even get playing time.

This is one position that is not a strength in our scouting department. That an offensive linemen, and receivers that can catch.

I am a real big Lamar Miller guy.....but damn it'd be insane to see MJD in a Dolphin uniform.

I had and have hopes for Miller as well. But if you can not pass block and pass catch, you are not going to play very much. You at least have to do one of those to stay on the field. Ex: Reggie Bush.

Well there is a roster spot open...

Maybe we could move Thomas and a late rounder. I hope they don't give up on Miller.

    Lol mjd?

Trade for a running back averaging 2.2 yards a carry behind a line no worse than ours? Do people think he triples his output behind our line? I don't think so.

I would rather trade for ben tate.

So basically Ireland doesn't know how to draft players on the offensive side of the ball.

I'd rather see an OL added. I'm also on the Josh Gordon bandwagon but the Browns have been pretty adamant that he's not available.

So then, following the law of Reverse Mando-ism, Dolphins not adding OL help, and are pretty much a lock to trade for a RB.

Let's try not to make this thread about Ireland's draft, we've had enough of those. Let's discuss who we'd like to see our team trade for.

And even then, we still don't know if Tannehill will ever be an elite quarterback or not. If he's not elite we're wasting time. I don't want the Rams situation where they can't figure out if Bradford will ever put it together now in his 4th season. I think we'll see more of the same from Bradford for the next 2-3 years till the Rams finally understands what they have.

I'd like to have kept Bush but there is a price tag of extreme for a decent back.

Gillislee was a fifth round pick never expected him to be a first year starter.

Best thing would be a less expensive back with some solid background and none will matter without some blocking.

The first place I'd start with RB is upcoming FA's.

    MJD
    Joique Bell
    Ben Tate
    McFadden

As far as OL goes, we know Albert's deal expires. Others are:

    Michael Oher
Jared Veldheer (currently on short term IR)

    Any others?

Right because everyone knows that playing defense against the Jaguars, you just gameplan for the very dangerous Blaine Gabert and forget about MJD since he's so bad.....leave 4 in the box, and run Dime defense all day because they can only pass with their offense........
