Too bad we are too banged up to go for style points. If Morris and Duke play most of the game, we could have put up 70+ again.
So lsu lost to Georgia Oklahoma state lost to wv and South Carolina struggled to beat the knights, do we move up in front of them?
LSU will be interesting. We would definitely have jumped Georgia had they lost. I think LSU ends up between 11 and 13 would have said we jump SC if we had Morris and put up a few more points.
Yep, and we beat USF not a quality opponent. Still though, if we keep winning the rankings will take care of themselves.
GT always plays then tough with the triple option offense. It's like every year we seem to forget how to defend that set. Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Great job by D'Onofrio. Made some great adjustments at halftime and shut down GT in the second half. 2 bad INTs by Morris but other than that, terrific game. Gimpy ankle on the plant foot is not an easy injury to play through for a QB. Footwork is so important to be a great QB and not being able to plant like you need to is such a detriment. Really hurts accuracy and you're not able to throw the ball as hard doing it on one foot. Thankfully Morris has one of the strongest arms you will ever find. Dorsett on PR's is easily the biggest coaching blunder this season. He's not a good PR to begin with, but now 2 weeks in a row with a muffed punt. If Stacy Coley isn't returning punts next game, I give up on that. And **** Seantrel Henderson. The guy's been given chance after chance after chance. Another 5 star Shantard recruit who lacks brain cells.
Was thinking about the same thing during the game. All the hype, all the talent, and nothing to show for it. Disappointed is an understatement.
I'll take it. That was a horrible game for the most part. Where's the train to #1, I need a ticket. Edit: How far out talent-wise are we from top 5? Would like to know what you guys think of the state of the []_[] is, and what could be done to become a solid championship contender. Probably a couple years out?
Talent wise we're 1 recruiting class away. If this class stays intact, plus some more additions at WR and NT, we're set. The only position that worries me is Safety. It's a really weak year for safeties, and really DB's in general this year in Florida. We have Deon Bush who's likely a future All ACC type of player, and Rayshawn Jenkins looks like he's going to be a fine player himself. Both will be Juniors next year. But we have no depth outside of True Freshman Jamal Carter. Rodgers and Highsmith are seniors. Luckily, next year's DB class in Florida is ridiculously talented. DB will likely be our top priority. CB needs more depth as well. Howard will be a junior and could enter the draft. Crawford a junior. Gunter a senior. I expect Burns to be a big time player. After that, I have no idea what to expect from Dortch, Elder, and Hope.
Miami picked up a commitment from WR Braxton Berrios today.
Fastest shuttle time at the opening. And a 4.48 as well. And while I typically hate the word "swag", that's exactly what this kid has. Just a damn fine football player who happens to be a damn good athlete, who'll let you know that he just **** on you.
Let's make it 6-0 tonight. Want to see Morris have a big game. Speaking of Morris....how do you guys think we will do next season considering we will need a new starting qb?
I have no reason to believe Ryan Williams won't be a good QB for us. He'll be a senior. More accurate than Morris. Probably a better decision maker. Doesn't have Morris' arm strength but not bad either. He's shown he can hit WR's in stride on deep routes. Most importantly, the talent he'll have around him will be ridiculous. It will be almost impossible for him to fail with all the weapons at his disposal. Ken Dorsey Lite is what I'm expecting. He should be able to manage games the right way and make enough plays to lead us to many victories. 2015 is where it gets real interesting. The battle between Kaaya and Olsen plus a 2015 QB will be damn exciting.
I'm not so sure of Williams' mobility either. We've seen Morris be able to escape the pocket when healthy (NC St bomb last year). Otherwise, I think he'll be fine. Lots of talent around him.
