Although these threads are making me laugh... One of The best offensive phins games I've probably ever seen in my young life, I don't have many play calling complaints............. Edit: especially playing with some balls against a decent D
you should question your football knowledge after making a remark like this.....480 yards on offense...the playcalling sure seemed like it was the problem...
500+ yards vs one of the best defenses in NFL with a rookie QB and our WRs. You should go away to a corner and think about what you just said because it was really stupid
The rookie QB outplayed his coaching today. Did you see him adjusting protections that were called. Tanny was a field general who made good reads. The playcalling didn't dictate that. Question my football knowledge. I saw a kid play out of his *** today despite limitations that were being sent down.
especially with the whole.. "keeping the playbook partially vanilla and A&M style so he can adjust" part right... I mean.. he's outplaying coaches calling a play book revolved around helping him adjust to the NFL transition?.. out of all the things to complain about..... You're on some bad drugs..
Hate to tell ya bud but the only reason he was able to make those reads and protection calls is because hes already familiar with the offense since T A&M. Any other offense and he wouldnt have the intricate knowledge necessary to make those calls. So be careful what you wish for. Personally, playcalling wasnt the issue. The defense being gassed late on that final drive was the problem. They couldnt get a good rush late and they blew the coverage completely on the second Roberts TD late. By OT they were on fumes.
While I certainly don't agree Sherman was the problem. I hated hated hated the first down pass when Tanny fumbled. Run the ball. If you want to showcase some balls and go for the throat, pass on 3rd and short or 3rd period. Not first....
My two issues. Play with :24 left in the third QTR . Second and 2 and Sherman calls a pitchback to Bush. Loss of nine yards. Three minutes left in the game on second and 8 and we are throwing. Turn it over. the D was gassed we know. Run the football. Just saying go back and watch.
No worries. Sometime in the future everyone here will have the same issues I have with those critical moments when Sherman tried to get cute. Just wait.
every single team in the league has fans that complain about the offensive playcalling one time or another. expecting it to never happen is ridiculous. I guess you were loving the predictable, conservative playcalling of the last 15 years? I'll take the aggressive approach that occasionally fails over the conservative approach that never succeeds. The latter only works if your defense is San Fran or Baltimore. and for the record, I doubt I will ever have the same issues you have
Mearly one quarter into the season and the first coach is being asked to be fired! lol I dont NEVER like EVERYTHING about an OC or DC but what I HATED about Henning was being ultra conservative. Sherman is the polar opposite and I'd much rather see our OC being at least a little aggresive until he knows exactly what he is working with. So I would have to say that your idea of getting rid of him pretty much stinks at this point.
