I was planning on posting this early this morning before the game, but elected not to, believing it came across as pessimistic, and superstitious. I'll now post it as a reply.

Expect to see the Dolphins come out flatfooted, lethargic, totally unprepared for, or in some way debilitated by a jaw dropping calamity that occurs and leads directly to a Bill's windfall.
This, with Buffalo's harrowing (though remarkably resilient) QB situation as it is, on the tail of our one week hiatus, in a pivotal game, that could see us in hot pursuit of NE, or tumbling down the steps to the division basement,
    brace yourself for collision.
Yes, the stage is set for another addition to our storied list and ongoing saga of infamous meltdowns.
    Can you see it?
Poised just behind the curtain, reading over its lines, preparing to steal the show?
    Our curse awaits.
The same vile pestilence, that typically sneaks in this time of year to heckle and torment, and has forsaken us for decades.

Whenever expectations peak for this team, particularly in this mild, unsuspecting climate, our Dolphins are notorious for showing up, plagued by issues they shouldn't be, or otherwise wouldn't be expected to have.
In this arcane and peculiar scenario, todays debacle is unlikely to stem from our offensive line woes, but rather an insidious ingrown hair that props up, completely unannounced, and virtually unforeseen ( though some will invariably claim credit for having predicted it during the preseason). Often attributed to some consequential change recently made, and possibly compounded by one or two knuckle headed problems arising from either careless oversight, or some mindless lapse in discipline, its baaaack.
Well, here's to calling out this longstanding hex-like condemnation, so that here today, its predictable arrival will surprise no one.

So it is written, so let it be undone.

I love the Miami dolphins, them sucking right now does in no way affect my allegiance to them, every year something can change, it's all about the head coach, the GM, and the QB..if they can't get it done, we try again, til we get it right..

Seems like a lot of 3rd down pass conversions we allow are repeats of previous games

On offense, runs and passes are telegraphed, like the RB alignment in shotgun

Even though they've been a disaster since then, even Oakland got to go in a Super Bowl and win a couple playoff games since our last playoff win. Slight Advantage: Raiders.

I know I havent been around long and im just as upset as anyone else.... but if this ridiculous "fire philbin and get rid of tannehill" nonsense starts to flood the board im probably out of here for a while. Not like it matters ...but its just amazing to me that people can think such things. Oh well thats our fan base for ya..because... you know. Dolphins.

This is just the way it is when you lose. People overreact and want change. It's natural. I mentioned this a hundred times today, but I haven't felt this awful after a loss in a long time, but I'm sane enough to not call for everyone's head. Tannehill didn't play all that well, but the potential is there. Philbin too. He's not perfect but I still believe in both of them.

It hurts and it sucks, and we're all tired of losing. That's why people are jumping off the ledge. 3-0 to 3-3 and a bad home loss will do you in.

I only started posting here a couple of months ago and really don’t post very much but I agree with everything you just said. I like you am also 29 and became a fan around 1991 or 1992 after watching Marino. After a couple of years I was a true fan and there was no going back, if only I knew then what I know now. It wasn’t until 1999 that I really started following the team and analyzing the roster. Even with Marino retiring and Fiedler taking over, our defense in the early 2000’s was really good and we were a very good team that made the playoffs. Then around 2002, probably the best 9-7 team I have ever seen, I feel something changed. As you said I almost feel that this team is cursed in some ways. I will never give up on the dolphins and honestly believe I will be a fan for life, whether that’s my life or theirs. But I too have been very frustrated at our cycle of mediocrity that never seems to change. From 2000 on this team has defined mediocrity to the core. Even when we suck we can’t do it right, 2011 “suck for luck” we win 6games after going 0-7 and 2005 and 07 we draft Ronnie Brown and Jake Long, both very talented players for us don’t get me wrong over Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan when we needed a quarterback. It seems we get a GM and coach they do average to slightly below average, except Cam Cameron who was just bad, we fire them and start over again with mediocrity. I don’t hate Joe Philbin, Jeff Ireland, and Ryan Tannehill, I don’t even think they are bad; the problem is I don’t think they are good either. Maybe I am wrong, I hope I am, but I just don’t see it. Tannehill clearly has a lot of talent and I think one day he has the potential to be a really good quarterback but I also think he makes a lot of boneheaded mistakes that if he doesn’t fix, and lets be honest he may not, will help continue our reign of mediocrity. Joe Philbin worries me as well, clearly he is a very intelligent person but I have seen a lot of mistakes by him that worry me. Now I realize you can’t change 60%o f the online after the 5[SUP]th[/SUP] game but I think it was very clear that Tyson Clabo should have been benched after the Ravens game and he wasn’t and it was one of the main factors that cost us the Bills game. I hear the excuse that there is no one behind him, I personally think Nate Garner was better last year than Clabo is this year. I understand Dallas Thomas is a rookie a may need more than a year, ok, but Will Yeatman has been on the teams ince 2011, I’m not saying he should be a superstar but if after 3 years he isn’t better than Clabo why waste the roster spot. I too am just frustrated and felt the need to vent. While this team isn’t a bad football team it sure is a frustrating one hopefully we can bounce back from this.

I'm 37. I live in New England. I remember Tony Frickin Eason beating Miami in the AFC title game. The Marino years were awesome, but at the same time frustrating as hell. For those of you who weren't around then, how many 6-0 or 7-0 starts were there, just to watch the team collapse in the second half? How many Kenneth Davis screen passes do I still see in my sleep? This team was always something short. Had Marino, couldn't draft a "servicable" RB. A LB that could cover. One decent CB. It's always been that way. Had the running game and defense, no QB. Had the Qb, no defense and running game. Now, who knows what there is. Point is, it's always been this way, but with Marino at least there was hope. Those who are 27 or so, get used to it. As my mother in law says "it is what it is." And with that said, I have always and will always love this franchise. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment.

Sure, only takes 1.000 years. Look at all the teams that were down and have come back in this time. Losers.

It goes all the way back through the Marino years. You had the best QB ever and still this franchise couldn't win 1 superbowl. What does it take? It's always something. You get a QB and you have no defense or O-line, great defense and no QB. It's always something.

I've been a fan since 1984. I'm so used to not seeing us in the playoffs the last decade plus its the norm for me now. Sad but true. Will never support another team though. That's how it is.Not even going into reasons why we don't have success. Alot of comments about that on here already and nobody is wrong. Its a long list.

I totally agree! I grew up in the eighties so I did not grow up with the undefeated season or the Super Bowl appearances. Winning close games is what makes good teams playoff contenders and division champs rather than wildcard teams. I understand losing to the saints because they are an elite team this year but losing to the ravens and bills is unacceptable. We have a good enough team where we should win games against teams of that caliber. Despite THill early mistakes he gives us a chance to win. The O line needs to give better protection so he has time to throw. When he has time he connects and we score. We should be 5-1 not 3-3.

People said exactly the same thing about Wanny and Fiedler, Saban and Culpepper, Cameron and whoever the hell that was and Sparano and Henne. It was always "how can you say they should be fired? We need to give them more time..."
And all giving any of them more time accomplished was wasting more time.

Gosh...you go just 39 short years since winning your last Super Bowl and everyone acts like the team can't win the big one.

Its nice watching many of the Colts' draft picks the past two years actually make a difference for their team. Meanwhile, apparently Dion Jordan has only played in around 26 percent of the team's snaps. You'd think they would want to use a guy they traded up to take with the #3 overall pick.

And how many of our other draft picks inactive or on special teams only?

This Incognito/Martin situation is just like I was talking about. This kind out crap is just what you expect to come from the Miami Dolphins. It's always something.
